Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
A TMV addition is the only thing that MIGHT persuade me to buy a ticket. Right now I'm kinda leanin towards SCI at Camp Zoe. But if I could see TMV and SCI at roo, it may be worth it. But if they played at the same time on Fri night, it's almost self-defeating; I'd hate to leave the set of one for the other. Bonnaroo loves to do that.

^Actually, I think he was "let go". They have an (arguably) even better drummer now! Hopefully we'll get a chance to see him in action at Roo this year! "Deloused" was great but, I prefer "Frances". It's not near as accessible but, It's a much more complex record (IMO). It can be hard to get into, though. It's really meant to be heard in it's entireity to be fully appreciated. It doesn't really work as individual songs but, the over-all product is incredible! Just my opinion.

Amen. Karma for that.
Frances is my favorite as well, but I also like Radiohead's Kid A over OK Computer. Frances is definately something you need to sit down "relax" your body and mind, and just take in, in its entirety. It is a journey.
I have a version of the album that I put together with Frances the Mute (the song) as the first track, and crossfaded the riff from Sarcophagi playing at the end of Frances with the Sarcophagi that starts Cygnus, and the album. They made me take it off oink, but if anyone would like to check it out, I can send you the mp3's or Wav files. I am proud of it, because it is faded perfectly, and essentially makes one of my favorite albums one track longer! Post here or private message me if you are interested.
How big of files can you share one sendspace, yousendit, and places like that?
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Dateline June 15th, 2007
Manchester, TN-
The rock group know as The Mars Volta played the Bonnaroo Music and Arts festival tonight. Entering via helicopter, they proceeded to play a 4 1/2 hour set. 2 dozen casualties came as a result of sonic implosion of some festival goers skulls. From now on Volta concert attendees are required to have a 2ft thick afro to protect from this incident happening again.

i liked deloused very original. the next one definitely not as good. stopped paying attention after that, didn't their drummer quit?
i did too... that said, i would LOVE to see them at bonnaroo, and would definitely catch up with their new stuff if they were added to the bill! although maybe i'll do that anyway... but them playing bonnaroo would be a great reason to!
saw them at vegoose, kinda... was a little out of it and off to the side of the stage, the sound from that spot was HORRIBLE and for some reason moving didn't occur to me, wonder why

Just got done listening to the "Electric Ballroom" disc. I dig it very much! I love how Cedric f*cks up in the beginning of "Televators"! It's the little things like that, that can give a live show crazy character! (bump)
I'm pissed off because: My Computer Won't Allow Me To Get My Fix Of Wishful Thinking, Seeing As Though The Mars Volta Or Superfly Don't Give A Shite What Any Of Us Think.

Thanks for the smites guys your opinion I hold in high regard . I hope you get your Mars Volta. However I am unlikely to give them a second chance. They were awful. No melody to the songs . Long and drawn out. All songs sounding pretty much the same. I was very disappointed because I had heard other people tell me they dug em. I will say I stayed for their whole set in case they were just getting warmed up but sorry they failed to impress me. I consider myself open minded when it comes to music but To each his own. For me Mars Volta is right up there with anchovies on my pizza. A waste of bread.

Well, what the f*ck do you think is going to happen when you come into a TMV thread and say this

I saw Mars volta once they sucked!
Why don't you go ahead and start a thread about how Bonnaroo sucks. I didn't personally smite you, because it really doesn't matter to me. I've been listening to these guys for some time now, and believe me, youre not the first person I've heard say that. They were awful. No melody to the songs . Long and drawn out. All songs sounding pretty much the same.
You must have had your head buried in someones ass if you really think that they don't use strong melodies. Or maybe you just have no concept of what melody is. I'm now interested in what bands you actually do enjoy. Blatantly bashing a band, and then saying "to each his own" is fairly contradictory. If you really believed that you would say something like "not my cup of tea, but glad someone enjoys it".
I wouldn't listen to half the music I do today if I became close minded to a band after the first listen.

^You're welcome. Thanks for the extra space at the show.
"I saw the Mars Volta once they sucked."
Very inciteful. Did you somehow think you were going to make friends in this thread with that? I reserve my smiting for the jerks who come in to pro-band threads talking crap. Start an anti-Mars Volta thread if you think they suck so much. I thoroughly doubt you'll get it to 16 pages.
But like you said, to each his own. If you're not willing to give them a second chance, then please leave us alone and enjoy the rest of the board.
