The give a quick answer it's Adrian.. plays flute/ sax/clarinet/percussion/keys
Paul - guitar/sound manipulator, Cedric - vocals, Marcel (omars brother) - percussion, Juan - Bass, Omar - Lead Guitar, Thomas - Drums, Adrian - flute/sax/percussion , Ikey - Keys.
If you don't get the Mars Volta .. it's cool. They make so much damn music it's not even funny. If you don't dig their music I'm sure you'll like one of the million side projects they have. Omars jams with John frusciante are cool.. Omars solo cd's are pretty chill too Ikeys side project Free Moral Agents is awesome.. Their band after at the drive in - before volta, Defacto is way chill.. The bassist Juans band Big Sir is groovy y'all know Cedric appears in a song with Rza from Wu-tang.. neat tune...
If anyone wants ANYTHING they've done, just give a holler and i'll upload it. They're definitely one of my favorite bands..
I don't know if this has been posted but here a pic [glow=red,2,300]I DON'T KNOW IF THIS COVER IS OFFICIAL[/glow]
^^^^you know your Mars Volta, Karma for all the good info I am still working on enjoying the Volta, but you have given me more music to look for, thanks

if you don't dig volta... really just check out their reggae band before Volta... De Facto.. Pretty much same members but playing different instruments..
here's a couple vids..
3 great bands in one.. Red hot Chili peps, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Mars Volta. yeah, if you didn't know Ikey used to play in Long beach dub all stars.. and sublime for a little bit
Omar on Bass, Cedric on Drums, Ikey on Keys... Only the second and third video has John Frusciante on Guitar. I've always loved these videos.
^^^^^^^^Hell yeah it will. Maybe Superfly will deliver this year?
Here's to it.......

Isn't it strange how a thread dedicated to this incredibly talented band, who everyone on Inforoo obviously wants to see added to the Bonnaroo 2008 line-up, keeps slipping from the top?
Heresy? Treason? Blasphemy? Jackassery?
Who knows? Regardless, for the time being, I've remedied this unfortunate and unimaginable situation.
The Bedlam In Goliath release date January 28th (However this is a Monday so its probably the Europe release, so the US release is probably the 29th or sometime in February) First single release November 19th.
Well since I am about to start to work for my college radio station, I am going to try to see if the station can get the single. If so, I will tell you guys how it is.
wow thanks for that link, it is badass, you can hear Pridgen banging pretty well in there, man I can't wait. From what I've read on thecomatorium, the first single will be released on November 19th, and that single will be called Goliath. It is speculated that Goliath is the reworked version of Rapid Fire Tollbooth from Se Dice Bisonte, No Buffalo, Omar's Solo Album.
On a separate note, I got the Omar, Lydia Lunch collab and I can't get into it. Don't get me wrong, the music is rocking, but Lydia's vocals are just not my cup of tea.

"I just got fragged by a non-working speak." 5 Roo's and counting
It took me a loooong time to even get remotely used to Lydia's vocal, and just her in general. The new EP, while strong, is by far the weakest release from Omar since the early ATDI days...
I still like it though, and I don't even think it's Lydia's fault of my not liking it that much. It just sounds like rehashed Quintet rythms and structures.

Good to see all the TMV faithful keeping this thread going strong in my absence. I actually just came by here to drop the link someone had posted about.
Wow, just wow. It took me a few listens to take to it, and now I cant stop. Cedric sounds absolutely badass on it. The rhythm guitar track sounds a lot like the lead from Cut That City. I really think there is going to be a huge TMV resurgence with this album.
As far as the Omar and Lydia collab......... Absolute garbage through no fault of Omar. Its not even that I can't get over he voice, its the crap that she spews out of her mouth. "Women have never started a war". You gotta be kidding me. She touches on some serious topics and offers no substance whatsoever behind her views. I can't even believe Omar agreed to do this piece of garbage. Right now I'm just praying for an instrumental version of it to be released, because Omar lets out some nasty stuff on it. I'm thoroughly agnostic, so I can never relate to atheists crying about God. It just makes no sense to me.
I'm sure I'll see you all much more in the coming months. College has taken priority at the moment.
Keep the Volta love going guys. They'll be doing some extensive touring next year, which makes Bonnaroo a very logical stop...... Hopefully Lydia Lunch will be thousands of miles away.

I'm gonna go ahead and make everyones day here. I decided to take a nap for a few hours because Im sick as hell. First time since Roo actually. Woke up to THREE NEW AMAZING SONGS FROM TBIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To the mods. These were put out by the band. There was no leak, just all promo.
TMV truly has hit another plateau. Now people can realize why I've been praising Thomas for almost a year. This kid is unreal (see Wax Simulurca).
Here are the audio rips from the videos posted by the band.
I'm personally awestruck right now. They continue to create new and fresh sounds. I think a lot of us got worried after Amp. TMV in nature has a habit of overdoing (for lack of a better term) their sound. There's a difference however. DITC and FTM have great structure, and everything flows nicely. Amp is a great example of how that sound can get out of hand and just sound downright pretentious. TBIG signals a return to the former IMO.
Since all of the regular posters in this thread are great people, I'll go ahead and PM you the sendspace links just in case they don't sit good with the mods. Do I smell some karma?

Damn you, stuckinutero!
I'm torn. I was planning to wait until January and listen to the record in it's entirety....with my friend LUCY, of course. Then you drop this unbelievable teaser in my lap and......DAMN!
I don't know what to do. The suspense is coming close to rendering me sterile but, I know that I should wait. On the other hand, I can get a little taste now and see if it's actually worth the trip.
