^^^^whoa, Timberlake playing bass with The Lips?....does anyone know the story behind this? I have already gained much respect for him with the release of his last album, but this definitely wins him some more points..

He was just there. Waynes an extremely nice guy, viola.
It was easy to bash on him when he was the metrosexual voice of a talentless bands, nowadays its a little different. I even remember reading a bunch of articles about him taking hardcore lessons on alot of instraments. He even admitted that he knew little about music and really wanted to become some sort of respectable artists.
I'll at the very least give him some props for hiring people to make REAL beats for him. Is it just me or has Mainstreem rap become very bland and bare bones. Aside from the stupid sh*t that comes out of these guys mouths. It just sounds like some of them started banging on a garbage can and rhyming over it, add way too much Bass to cover up and flaws and bingo. You got a hit.
I think rap/r&b/Hip-Hop/Etc. needs to go back to the days where they actually concentrated on the beats and music, not the money, murder, drugs bullsh*t now.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!

i agree with you about mainstream rap/hip-hop. i can't listen to it at all with the exception fo jay-z and kanye. i really liek blackalicious, lyrics born, aesop rock, cannibal ox, and cage. thats where the true talents at when it comes to rap/hip-hop; the underground

Well since this is a Mars Volta thread and we're talking about rap, I have a few words for you:
"A Day In The Life" Handsome Boy Modelling School.
think about that for a while... and try not to vomit.
"How many times have you let your tongue go slip From the grin in your teeth and the cracks of your lips I never heard such nerve before But your venom spills slowly through the cracks of my pores..."

Because I am talented I will seemlessly fuse these 2 topics together.
Omar and Cedric appear on the new El-P disc on a track called tasmanian pain coaster. I'm pretty sure Omar does most the music on the track while Ced lays down some vocals at the end.
Sounds pretty good, worth checking out.
Pertaining to Hip-Hop, the "underground" is definetly where its at. The list goes on and on. I gotta up Nas though. Didnt really dig his last album, but the guys sharp as a machette. IMO the best mainstreem MC for a while now.

I swore I wouldn't go to roo this year, but if they added TMV I would snap up a ticket ASAP. Their 05 set was probably the sickest show I've ever seen. Does anyone have the set list from that night? My memory is a little fuzzy.

i dont think there was a sober soul in that tent..
ironically enough, i saw them with perfect circle and i had a real love hate thing going on i couldnt stand the singing (at the time) but loved the music... they have however grown on me since because as with all things i decided to give them a second chance... i quite like them now with deloused being my favorite album... and would love to see them again
Bet Copeland is in the SuperJam, unless he has Police obligations. Frances is my favorite album. Captures Cedric's voice the best with all the crazy sound effects.
