Where are they on the initial lineup? I made this thread a year ago after the initial lineup was announced for Roo '07. Why won't they play again? It is getting me upset.
You'll have to scroll down to the middle of the article and where it starts "Out of the modern ranks...." it talks about TMV being on the initial lineup

Thinking back on the show (despite how good it was) it ended much earlier than it was billed. Maybe they just dident enjoy Bonnaroo. I expected them to be a for sure thing this year.

This thread has been all about delayed gratification. For years we have been waiting. I will wait further, until the announcement is made. They have not yet solidified their touring plans for the US this summer. I feel that when an announcement is made of the US tour, we will know. And they will be added. And we will rejoice.
And if they are not added....our humble page will grow to 100 pages in anticipation of the announcement of The Mars Volta at Bonnaroo '09. Hehe.
With the announcement of the rescheduled Columbus show (which I drove from Nashville for), I feel nothing but good things are to come on The Mars Volta at Bonnaroo tip.

You know....this thought crossed my mind as well. I was front and center for that show. They took forever to come out, and once they did, the electricity on the stage went out during the first song. I was quite worried the show wouldn't go on. That said, once they started playing, they seemed pretty into it. And that was one of the few times I've seen a technical snafu at a Roo show. So hopefully that won't factor in.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I was pretty much front and center for their '05 late night set, and I have not been the same since. Please, please, PLEASE come back to roo this year!
Somehow the Times must have been given a larger list than the general public. I'm thinking they're already confirmed to play but for some reason or other they weren't announced with the rest of the initial lineup. I'm counting them as being there
All I know is what you guys do, and that is the fact that the NEW YORK TIMES printed their name amongst the Bonnaroo lineup.
What intrigues me even more is that the list they printed only contains 13 artist names. It isn't like the whole list got printed and TMV was "accidentally" put on there. They were part of a select few to be published. I think this all but confirms it.

I am merely speculating, as are many of you. Though my heart would be crushed, I would still go and have a great time. I expect the same of all of you.

I'm doubtful. Seems like just a slip-up to me. For some reason, these past couple days I've been very suspicious of what the media reports regarding the Bonnaroo lineup....
Someone mentioned elsewhere that TMV don't like playing festivals. Anyone know if that's true?
