My thoughts exactly. That's probably the worst possible conflict Bonnaroo could hand me, and I have a terrible feeling that if the Volta gets added, this could be a conflict.
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
Plus, the additions were pretty damned big, this time. No lesser known bands on there, 'cept maybe Chromeo. Makes me skeptical of additional "big" bands.

True that, for me ZPZ and Cat Power were the two bands i wanted after TMV. I think we have maybe 2 or 3 bands of this caliber left to be added, hopefully TMV is one of them.

im not saying any of the new adds are bad at all, im a fan of several. i just know ive heard the figure of 100+ bands performing this year, and even with the 5 we're getting at least 20 more bands. i know many of these will be small, but there will be some more gems, for sure.
they are playing with us to keep the devout pumped the whole waiting period by giving us clues and adds and information. i love it and i hate it. instead of just being excited and putting it off for 4 months im glued to my computer for hints at what will go down in 4 months.
I think we have one more round of this caliber additions, maybe with about 3 of them instead of 5 though. Then we still have Jazz acts or whatever else cafe acts and what have you to be added, and that should really be about it. Hopefully TMV is in that one more round of additions before it's all said and done.

Should we drop it and accept that they just wont be there this year and keep our fingers crossed for 09

should we hold on to it tighter than the led zep rumors and never let it die!!
they will be there. they're holding on to it, because there is really no reason to add them right now. everyone already assumes they are going to be there. so it's not going to boost sales to add them at this point. they will be on last big artist announcement, as bonnaroo sort of trying to surpsie us, when they are not really.

Although I think we can all say that The Mars Volta is about 100 times more likely than Zep. All signs point to yes. And if not, well, at least I got to pass some time with other fans of one of my favorite bands.
Plus, hell, I'm seeing them twice in April, so it's not like I'm completely missing out on anything. They were one of my highlight shows of 2005, and knowing that they were going to blow people away made me feel good, and they certainly did that.
Mars Volta will definitely be there. I was emailed about presale tickets for their show that is coming up in April in Austin. They announced a "South Tour." Austin, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans. I kind of feel that they're already going to Bonnaroo, but are waiting for the right time to announce it (Maybe when Superfly says so?). Plus their tour dates don't go past April

^^^Gahh, just saw this, playing in New Orleans, April 7th, holy cow, tickets go on sale Sat. the 1st, boo, that's when rent is due, bahhhhhhh, ok gotta do some number crunching....I have to be there
