Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Though I don't think they'll play more than a few songs (45 minute concert, at the most), this at least shows that they may be doing something on a small scale before Roo, in preparation for the new album.
is anyone else out there stressed out that tmv might cancel?? i mean, their website still doesn't list bonnaroo as a tour date, only their myspace page. also, if you click on their name on the lineup at the bonnaroo website, it only shows a picture and has an old webpage and their myspace page links. everyone else has an artist description. when down and ting tings dropped out, i wasnt too bummed, but this would be devastating.
also, i know we cant freak out too much cause i dont think they've had an artist description or tour date since they were announced, so its not like anything has recently changed. but i feel like maybe its not 100% or something

I highly doubt that is the case... that is a huge artist to cancel. Plus with their new CD to come out... I think they will be there.
But that is still a very scary thought. If it would happen to be true, I would almost definitely not be going to Bonnaroo this year. The Volta is the #1 band I am going to Roo for, and with my #2 band being Down until they cancelled, it wouldn't be worth it for me even with the rest of the lineup... I'd probably save the hundreds of dollars and go to more smaller festivals... they have some great corn, great people, and amazing music. Pennsylvania has an awesome smaller festival scene.
Within the next week, some of us will have El Grupo Neuvo's "Cryptomnesia", which is getting a limited release on Indie Record Day. Given that, I'm assuming we should all have a digital copy in the week as well... that should be our "leak".
Actually its eight songs, Pitchfork got bad info, but still thats about 6 minutes per song and I'd imagine that they will have a song in there thats 7-9 minutes long.
One thing that I wonder, is Bonnaroo going to have that record store they had last year? Because last year I got the new Sigur Ros album weeks before it was supposed to come out and got it for like 12 bucks. Lets hope they have it there again and possibly pick up the new Mars Volta album.
sorry to double post, but in my defense it has been a few hours since my last post and i am drunk. i used to own scabdates before it was stolen from me when i took my car to a red arrow carwash, along with about 50 other of my favorite discs.. anyway, i have since re-purchased frances the mute and amputecture (they did not steal my deloused or bedlam) and have been searching for a replacement scabdates. i finally gave up and bought it on fye online and it is every bit of wonderful sexy that it was the first time i bought it... i know they will not ever sound this exact way again because they have a new style, in a way, now and it is slightly different than their old work. i kick myself daily for never catching any of their early shows. but now i can only sit and anticipate their bonnaroo arrival. with the yeasayer/mgmt late night rumor all but squashed, we may be seeing a mars volta late night after all! i cannot wait..
i would love to see ben harper and the relentless 7, but omar and cedric (as well as thom) are my father (thom- all knowing), son (cedric- tells us the true path), and holy ghost (omar- leads us to salvation) will not be missed. i may be late for your show, trent
Sorry if this has already been brought up but i didn't feel like sifting through 60 pages...
Is there any chance that John Frusciante will take the stage with TMV? I know he has done work with them in the past and played with them live. Is there any info going either way on this?
What type of involvement has he had with them in the past? even the slightest chance of him being there would make me see their set regardless of the conflicts.

I saw TMV tour w/RHCPs and the last 25 minutes of the show were an epic EPIC jam between the two bands....super sweet!!! Are RHCPs playing anywhere over Roo? If not - we can all hope!
we are getting beat by DAVID BYRNE in the bonnarro/coachella march/april madness thread! we have to unite to not get ousted in the sweet sixteen by this man! yes, the talking heads were pretty cool, but put his solo material up against THE mars volta, and david byrne wins??? no way.

No, RHCP is currently on hiatus for a while. John had a solo album released a few months ago, but hasn't and probably won't tour for it. I don't think he has performed anywhere for a while, so not sure what that means for an appearance with TMV.
Folks who run the board must be getting antsy pantsy, like i am for TMV, they've switched karma to "headie points" for some idiotic reason. semantics, much?

I was at this show and the jam at the end was one of the best things I've ever seen at a concert.
didnt know they had a new song out? was it officially released or played live? I went onto the coma for the first time in a long time to try and find some information and felt like I was sifting through too much nonsense...........
