hot damn thats a close video rideincircles! thanks for posting. i've been a tmv fan since the beginning but this was my first time seeing them live... we were sooo far back, it took away from 'the experience'.
does anyone know if Omar was upset about something? They hugged about something in the middle of the set and they said that they were making up cause they were a tight band, I wasn't sure if this was something normal or what?
effing amazing show!! My fav set of the weekend!
Yeah... omar is kind of a prick sometimes. He was mad because the sound guys screwed up (like they did all weekend) and their bassists bass was out of tune. So he had to tune real quick and then he still wasnt in tune. Omar kind of got irritated. Then the bassist asked what song they were playing next and sometimes it seemed that they couldnt start songs off very well.
Yea I kinda thought Omar's guitar was outta tune as first, hence why they stopped.......
you know what... thats what my friend said too. so thats gotta be it then. Yeah he was upset because the sound guys didnt tune his guitar. And then i kinda felt that they werent on the same page on what to play next.
God Damn.... This Octahedron record is amazing. With Twilight As My Guide may very well be the most beautifully crafted song they've ever done, in my eyes.

i can't really rank them - i mean, i know which ones i like the best but they're all amazing in their own way.
that being said, the first few weeks i had the cd i was pretty disappointed, the more i listened to it the more i liked it. it wasn't until i brought it to my friends house and we put it on while we smoked and did arts that i truly appreciated it, lol.
but i see where you can say that i guess, just never really sat down to rank them all.

I just saw TMV in London at the Somerset House on 7/13. The venue was this old 17th century Victorian former Government building. Only held like 3000 people. One of the best concerts I have been to, and only my second TMV show (with Bonnaroo as my first). I have videos of it, but haven't uploaded them on my computer. Youtube it though and you will be surprised how great the show.
Besides the music, one of the great highlights was Cedric calling KoL the "Queens of Leon." Ha.
^Wow, more and more people are realizing how much worse KOL are than they used to be... seriously, that newer album of theirs is just... I really don't know the right word.
It's all still good music, I suppose, better than most nuts on the radio nowadays, and they were at one time a band I kind of liked, but they are one of the most overplayed bands right now. All of their new songs sound alike and they have really disappointed me with their more commercial output. I mean, honestly, Sex On Fire is one hell of a bad song.
Sorry to the many KOL fans out there, really
I could go further, but I'll hold my tongue. But, to be fair, they apparently still have it in a live setting, which is good.

Yeah, I'm really liking the current setlist.... hell, I thought it was great to begin with, and even with our shortened one we got at Roo. It is nice, though, to see an old song that hasn't been played in forever, and prior to these shows, never by Pridgen. Makes me hopeful of others, as Inertiatic was far from my favorite track on Deloused.
There is a very good balance, for sure... the new songs are great live and don't take up much time, most of the rest is pretty straight forward without much jamming, then you've got Roulette and Cygnus, which they spend a little bit of time on.
I'd be in favor of as much jamming as possible, but this is a nice balance... even though the version I saw at Myrtle Beach was 30 minutes and amazing, I can't tell you how refreshing it was to see Drunkship of Lanterns at it's normal length at Roo.
