I'm keeling over as we speak... if I can't find a fresh-ass bootleg of the new shows, I'll die.... It woud be even worse if they weren't "signed for the roo"

I think there is a bootleg of their show, but it might take a couple of days.
Also, I hear their new drummer is mind blowing with TMV ???
^ agreed. I am soooo incredibly impressed with Pridgen, his style is different than previous drummers, more visceral, raw. He adds a different touch to just about every song he played from the show. I need to at least see the band when they go on the nation-wide tour that i KNOW they will do... right?

Please add the Mars Volta. This seriously needs to happen. I just hope someone from Superfly reads this board and sees how much support there is toward adding this band.

Fo' sho'. I hate to sound like a broken record, but from those vids he tore it up. From looking at that i'd say he's better then jon. Jon was great within the band, but pridgen just steps it up a notch and the drums are now a whole seperate entity, much like Omar's guitar playing. He plays all the songs like he's solo'ing, but it still fights within the song, its sweet.

i am in awe, watching those videos gave me the same feeling as when i first saw them like a year ago. I feel like they have been reinvented with thomas on drums.

"NO MARS VOLTA"
bring back At The Drive In!!!!!
Ouch. Thats never going to happen...... Ever. Please, just don't tell me you're one of those sour ATDI fans who say Sparta is better than TMV.
I've been away from Inforoo for a bit (School), but not the internet. I gotta say, Prigden absolutely exceeded every expectation I had for him. Just watching the videos on Youtube and hearing the spin that he puts on alot of Jons parts is amazing. I said it a few months back, and I'll say it again. This kid makes Jon look like the little drummer boy. Jon is an amazing drummer, but this kid has no ceiling for his talent. He's also very young to boot. Its seemed like a win-win situation to me from the start. TMV finally gets the thoroughly trained, ambitious drummer they've needed while Pridgen gets a chance to make a name and perfect his skills on a wide variety of music in a very eclectic environment.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
i think thomas is great and all. but some of yall gatta take it easy. it will take alot from him for me to think he is better (or even as good) as theodore. i mean cmon, hes only played like 2 shows right?

^ Fair enough. Theodore is an extraordinary drummer and a very important element in the TMV sound. He was a big part of my initial attraction. You see, I like percussion. I was/am quite sad to see him go but, Pridgen does seem equally amazing(and maybe more). I will not be able to form my final opinion until those SuperFly bastards give us another Volta show. Either way, both are top-shelf musicians that I would love to see perform live...with any band. Especially The Mars Volta!
