Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Here's two names I haven't seen posted yet (albeit i didn't look too terribly hard through the 3 pages):
Gwen Stefani Hanson
But then again, the chances of this ever happening are about the equivalent of the entire inforoo population agreeing on whether or not Tool should be at Bonnaroo this year.

If Fallout Boy is punk - I'm the pope. Fallout Boy, Nickelback, Good Charlotte, Maroon 5, and Hawthorne Heights present the C.R.A.P. tour. Coming Right Atcha Playa!

I definitely appreciate all of the posts listing punk-rock bands as ones which should be banned. Good call. Personally.......Fallout Boy for sure...
Oh man...this band makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth.
throw up in my mouth is an understatement. hinder should not be aloud to play bonnaroo. better yet, hinder should not be aloud to exist. i think they are hands down, the worst band i've ever heard!

I'm shocked at all the banning of RHCP at Roo...I think they would be AWESOME!! Saw them in Ohio for a show this year and they were great...maybe their new album might change your mind? I love it!

haha yea that would be one of the worst lineups in the history of music. throw in some hinder and panic at the disco and i think the world might end
Honestly, there are always a few bands at any fest that I just kind of puzzle over how people are so into them, but the great thing about fests is that I can hang for a bit, listen, and if it never grabs me, stroll on over to another stage and find something else. I know there were probably folks walking away from shows I was way into wondering how anyone could like that...
I worry about headliner slots but even if all three of those were not my taste, I know I would easily still find a dozen amazing shows at Bonnaroo.
But I've heard voices not in the head Out in the air they called ahead Through ripped out speakers Through thick and thin They found a shelter Under my skin -Evgeny Aleksandrovitch Nikolaev

I'm just pointing out the obvious, but... -Dave Matthews Band (or in any form, period) -Widespread Panic -The Killers -Coldplay -The Police -Fountains of Wayne -anyone from American Idol
After see a bit of Live Earth last night, I think my obvious choice would be Kanye West....especially after his totally uncessary "guest appearance" with the Police.....
Oh, and I think HINDER is totally the appropriate name for that band....add "ANCE" onto the end and that's exactly what they are to me personally.....bleech

Ann Coulter.
Tim Robbins, on the other hand......
i totally died laughing when i read this! LOL! LMFAO! wouldn't Ann Coulter just get hated on at roo big time. plus, she could ruin a good time.
...........speaking of getting hated on... what about RHCP? uh? i have loved them since the 80's. i saw them at Lollapalooza way back when John Fruscainte left the band. since they got him back they have been on fire! they are great! however, they did kinda go "pop" and thats what turned so many people off. i think people would change their minds if the next album has some long jams and no poppy songs. flea is still flea. Listen to 'Live at Hyde Park'
they biggest NO for roo would be ANYONE EVER ON AMERICAN IDOL!

I have to agree on the Kanye West thing....when he was on stage with The Police, we were all sitting there wondering who in the hell thought that was a good idea...even Sting looked pissed about it.
Post by strumntheguitar on Jul 9, 2007 8:28:42 GMT -5
^^I was so pumped when I saw John Mayer on stage with them, but then he just kinda stood in the back and they didn't give him any big showtime on stage. Then Kanye came out and I was just like "wow. The Police really don't know how to save themselves...."
I can't imagine how that conversation went... "Let's have some guest appearances for our Live Earth Performance!"
"Ok, how about John Mayer! He has a pretty respectable cover of one of our songs!"
"Good idea, we'll put him there with his guitar in the back. The world loves Kanye West though. Let's have him stand up there and rap over a classic song about his view on politics, because Kanye never fails to disappoint when he starts talking about the government!"
Post by spookymonster on Jul 9, 2007 9:03:51 GMT -5
But Kanye added soooo much to that song!!!! Who could ever forget such poignant lyrics as: Uh, uh, uh... yeah! We can save the world! uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.... yeah!
And, of course, the immortal: And I'm gonna tell you Sting cause I should / Sting, you the only police that's good in the hood
You know, it flashed through my mind that MAYBE he just went out there on his own....MAYBE they had no idea he was going to do that....I mean did anyone see the way he just barged in on Carson Daily's interview with Rosario Dawson backstage? They didn't ASK him to come join in, he just walked up with a towel on his head and got between them and started talking.... So I thought maybe he just grabbed a mic and headed out onstage before anyone could stop him.....
But then, sigh, it became obvious that it was a bit more choreographed than that....too bad. I could ALMOST have forgiven them for not throwing him off the stage if he just walked out and did it on his own....but to have actually PLANNED it? A new low.....
i was excited when they brought up john mayer. i heard John Mayer cover "message in a bottle" at a small club before he got huge back in 2002 and it was great.
then sting said "now let's bring out another guest, mr.KAYNE(not kanye go back and listen to the introduction) WEST." The freestyle was fine, and if he had left the stage, as it looked like he would, after that All would have been right with the world. BUT INSTEAD, he stayed for an almost unforgiveable and incredibly rap cliche "UH" session over a classic pop rock hit. The sad thing is when they make the compilation dvd, that will probably be the song they pick to put on there from the police set.
on a completely different note, i wonder how much you get paid to be such a fake ass announcer like dave holmes and that other airhead. I mean, anybody with half a brain was shuddering during that performance, and they have the balls to say "WOW WHAT A MONUMENTAL PERFORMANCE BY ALL THOSE GREAT ARTISTS... BLAH BLAH BLAH..." That paycheck better be pretty damn large to be blaspheming like that.
Ah Karen Duffy ("Duff") was with Holmes. I used to love her back in her VJ days before she got sick. The thing is you could see the sarcasm in her eyes many times. Did you hear her after the Pussycat Dolls show? Something to the extent of "how does one loosen buttons anyway, this is the existential question of the millennium." I almost cried. Knowing how she is, I could see she found many of the performances utterly ridiculous, but did what was expected for the contract.

Yes, I love her, too! I could feel the sarcasm oozing out of every comment.
I wanna know how one's buttons are loosened as well. ???
I was happy to see ANYONE on stage along with The Police given Sting's proclivity for artistic solipsism, but yes, the Kanye West thing was forced at best. It looked clumsy. Shoving Mayer into the background was also a total waste. He should not be relegated to the status of backup singer.
My bet is, dimes to dollars, that whole thing was shoved onto The Police by the Live Earth people as a little end-of-the-night "climax" thing. Sting, by all accounts, hates vehemently to deviate from his designated and over-rehearsed set lists (hence the canned set at Bonnaroo). Sting's management has been running the whole reunion tour and calling all the shots, completely running roughshod over Stewart and Andy and being, basically, pricks. That's why early on Stewart would say stuff like "Oh yah, we are gonna do something totally different for Bonnaroo" and then they show up and do a shortened version of their canned stadium show. Bottom line is StingCorp is just ignoring all input from Stewart and Andy. The only reason I expect the whole tour to run to completion with moderate success is because all three of them are serious professionals. They will suffer through nine more months of crap because that is what their contracts require.
I bet the Live Earth folks played some hardball with StingCorp. and shoved West and Mayer into the last song there. Given the kind of political pressure and hardball tactics that Gore is capable of when he wants to be, the Live Earth management could probably have put StingCorp in a very rough PR position and engineered that fiasco.

Anyway, that's my guess.
or maybe, secretly, Sting is be bumpin' to da kanye west in his ride, yo... UH, We CoUld Save Da Wurld!

wow, all this POLICE bashing makes me feel like i'm at an NWA/Body Count show. i hated the Kayne West "performance" also. what the hell was he doing? why was he even allowed out there? whoever said that was a good idea should be fired.
as for those "hosts"... what the hell were they doing? they were also completely useless. why were they even there? bad idea again. i don't want to see that "dude" on tv ever again. he's fake. ...and Karen Duffy really looked bad in that outfit.

I think theyre just too poppy and mainsteam, others may be inclined to agree(or disagree), but that is my opinion.
