DRIVE BY TRUCKERS...I went to see allman bros last night, and Mofro was billed to play ...but who to our amazement came out?
THEM. Talk about suck ass..I felt BETTER when they finally left the stage. I hope anyone will not have to sit through that crap. Allman Bros were great and it was all good after that.
I think the Drive by Truckers have been there. I saw them open for Gov't Mule a few years back. I didn't think they were so bad. Warren even came out and jammed with them.
I was supposed the the Bros. tonight but plans fell through
But Kanye added soooo much to that song!!!! Who could ever forget such poignant lyrics as: Uh, uh, uh... yeah! We can save the world! uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh.... yeah!
And, of course, the immortal: And I'm gonna tell you Sting cause I should / Sting, you the only police that's good in the hood
Take that, Shakespeare!!!
My cracker "ass" knows more about the hood than Kanye.
Does anyone remember Sting performing with P/Puff Diddly/Daddy/Doockie on the that Gawdawful bastardation of Every Breath You Take at some award show a few years back?

Speaking of lyrics, besides his awful high-pitched drawly whine, the DBT were not exactly profound. Rehab, drunk, rock n roll and blue oyster cult. C'mon these guys opening for Allman Bros? Southern rock...ok, but not this.
I just dont get the allure and most people at the show (to Charlut's credit) did not seem to get it either.
