1. Daft Punk 2. Bjork 3. insert jam band
Thats my realistic prediction, and one I'd be happy with. Swap one of the first two with Smashing Pumpkins, or The Cure possibly.
Bjork = worst possible headliner IMO....Everyone would be fleeing to the tents for some sweaty late nite action. Plus, ticket sales would be blah as well. I dont think Bonnaroo could have a headliner that everyone didnt know at least one song by (& sing along with). I honestly couldnt tell you one.
I think daft punk would be great for the roo, but agreed that it would prolly work better as a late nite. Maybe which stage slot like the LIPS. Daft Punk was a big draw at Lolla. Ben was more for me though. I think if Muse had a bigger following in the states, they for sure could headline the Roo, the show they put on at Lolla was mindbending. Great visuals/lights, and they are an amazing trio of musicians.

Have you even listened to Bjork? She's like a female, Icelandic Radiohead (Post OK Computer). She's incredible. Plenty of people would go see her. A show can cost you hundreds to get a seat. Her headlining set at Coachella was awe-inspiring.

^^^^To each their own sir. A Bonnaroo headlined by Bjork, is a Bonnaroo that better have a strong lineup. Because that farm in Tennessee is no Coachella....and I sure as hell hope it stays that way.

I'd like to suggest a Zappa Plays Zappa headliner for Friday. Before you say "a cover band for a headliner?" I'd like to make my case for why it would work 1. The approach ZPZ takes to Zappa's music is more similar to the approach an orchestra performing a dead composer's music than a cover band. It's not a bout the band, It's about the music, and ZPZ plays it flawlessly. 2. The potential for former Zappa band members guesting is enormous. Steve Vai, Napolean Murphy Brock, Terry Bozzio and Ray White have already performed w/ ZPZ. Other potential guests could include Adrian Belew, Eddie Jobson (of Roxy Music fame), Jean Luc Ponty, Flo & Eddie (of the Turtles), George Duke, Vinnie Couleuta and a whole list of incredible performers who could also guest w/ other bands and/or the superjam. 3. The band regularly plays 3-hour+ shows, so the would fill their time slot. 4. The interactive sections with video footage of Frank would be epic on the What Stage big screens. 5. Frank's music deserves to be experienced by a huge crowd of music lovers, and there's no better crowd than Bonnaroo.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

"And I'm gonna do my best swan dive into shark infested waters, gonna take out my tampon and start splashing around." --ani difranco .. "Don't ask her why she needs to be so free. The only problem I see with that lineup is Peter Gabriel being much bigger outside of Roo circles than the Allman Brothers. Dude headlines stadium tours around the world, so I doubt he'd play anything less than the headlining slot. Nitpicking aside, I would go to that festival...
pearl jam i think would fit terrificaly at roo and they've finally started playing fests again so thats a possibility even though its unrealistic a phish reunion would be pretty awsome. also, i think its time that ben harper could start to be considered at a headline material. with his new album and all he's definently growing in popularity. if not this year, i believe he'll be big enough in the upcoming years following
Friday: Jimmy Page w/ The Black Crowes Saturday: Pearl Jam Sunday: Allman Brothers
or
Friday: REM Saturday: Eric Clapton (with his current lineup that has Derek Trucks and they play Layla songs!) Sunday: Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, and Bob Dylan (w/ Asleep at the Wheel as the backing band)
