Too Dogfighter: That kind of a headliner set would never work because there is no draw to the jam band scene (it is bonnaroo not coachella), and there is really not a classic artist headliner (like a Petty, Police, possible Zeppelin...etc).
If we are talking dream headliners that would fit roo:
Thursday (we can dream for a fourth spot cant we): My Morning Jacket or Umphrees McGee(this could be the only real feasable way to have them as a headliner for roo, and this would make it so the smaller bands can have a chance for a headliner spot on Thursday...a win win situation IMO)
Friday: Tool (cant get enough of them and would love to relive that experience on the bonnaroo grounds again, it was amazing in my book)
Saturday: Led Zeppelin (almost looks more reasonable then a Pink Floyd reunion IMO)
Sunday: Phish (never have seen them and just now getting into a lot more Phish...I think they will have a reunion show sooner than later IMO)

I know for a fact that The Arcade Fire are going to play the exact same time, day, and stage as the white stripes did this year. Although i don't know how much that has to do with this thread...

I would absolutely love them to be at Bonnaroo 08, but idk as a headliner.
I know they wouldn't headline, but I can wish. Saw them at Coachella in '06 and it was an amazing show. Bass so deep that you will involuntarily evacuate your bowels.

Anyone who saw the Mule set on Sat night I would think would agree that they are ready and deserve the Jam headlining spot on Sunday. Warren will bring in tons of sit-ins as well
Fri. Pearl Jam ( Modern band with big enough draw )
Sat. Led Zep ( Classic Rock band with member having already played the festival ala Stewart Copeland)
Sun. Gov Mule ( Jam type band with reasons stated above)

Just though I'd throw something different in there. It's not Entirely far fetched. They weren't big enough as in record sales, but they do have a rather big fan base nonetheless.
