Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Is it even possible to have a lineup each year that most will like? Some years it just won't cut it and that's fine. The world won't end and there is always next year, if you really can't stand going this year. I just love the place and think I can enjoy whatever is going on. When Metallica is playing, I won't be there, who cares. This is a place to express your opinions and get things off your chest. People should not be so upset by opinions that don't match theirs. They're just opinions and mean something only to the person stating them. So vent, decide to go or not and move on. This is just one weekend, not your whole life. It is a really fun weekend though. ;D

Hi! This year will be my first time to go to Bonnaroo and I'm really looking forward to it. But anyway, something that has been driving me crazy is which band was described in the first clue about there being "more than one manchester"? I was really hoping for Oasis. They are one of my favorite bands ever. Hope to see all of you in June!
After listening to Jack Johnson's new album, I think his live show will be better than in 2005. I still think there are a few bands that are better suited to close out 'roo, but I think Jack's upcoming tour will be his best yet. I'm really enjoying his new album, I like him better on the electric guitar. I'm sure he'll have plenty of guests joining him. I'm not sure if or how much energy he can put into his live shows, his music just isn't full of energy. It's mellow and relaxing but I really don't think it will be that bad.

hey everyone i'm new to this board and i hate to be negative right off the bat but i have to throw in with the naysayers and say the 'roo just ain't what it used to be. Last year was the first one I missed and I'm not going this year, but I have to say that even by '06 there was a noticeable change in the vibe from '02 - '03. The whole philosophy at first seemed to be that this was something that was beneath the commercial radar and thrived on artists who made their bones by playing live. Not selling records, making videos, etc. And sorry but Metallica and Kanye West just don't paint that picture for me. I realize that they can't have Trey, Phil, and Panic carry the show every year, but come on, Metallica? To anyone who was at '02 that just seems like a sick joke. I'm not trying to knock anyone's musical preferences and by all means if you like the lineup go have a blast. I'm just saying that to me this looks less like the festival I've grown to love and more like Woodstock '08. Just my opinion.

still have to agree with these points. I thought I would do good and surf the lineup on youtube. It actually made it worse. There were bands that I thought I would want to see. After youtube, I could definitely miss them. There are a few that I found from the lineup that would be cool that I had no idea of before (the ones toward the bottom of course), but I don't need to go to the roo to see them. Still on teh fence though. Looking forward to Round 2 additions I guess.

Ive been to going to roo since 2003. I think the headliners are great Metallica Friday, PJ Sat, JJ Sunday. I'm very pleased and will prob be front row for Friday and sat, and on Sunday will chill back and enjoy, great way to end an intense weekend. Kanye although a relevant hip- hop act just doesn't fit, I would rather have some one like mos def. I'm almost a 100% sure that he will have a which stage late night spot considering he has the Glow in the Dark tour I couldn't imagine him doing anything else at roo. I'm sure the light show and theatrics will be amazing. But The which stage late night spot is a very important spot and with past late night headliners like, Primus, Flips, and trey I just dont see his music giving me goosebumps and that feeling of pure musical enlightenment that the former late night headliners were more than capable of doing. If I am correct there were two which stage late night headliner, so theres another spot to fill. My best guess for this spot would be either MMJ or Phil and friends. MMJ already has done a late night at bonnaroo so there chances go slightly down, and even though Phil and friends are great and I need the band in that spot to really melt my face off like the flips did. Again I love Phil but he doesn't melt my face off like the flips or Primus. Other than that I see nobody else who would even closely qualify for the late night which stage sets. In fact I dont see too many bands that I would consider to really substantiate a late night set other than MMJ or Robert Randolph. Its not the headliners I'm worried about, I'm very pleased with the headliners, its the lack Depth and Goosebump factor of the potential late nights sets that I'm worried about. I mainly go for the Stellar late night acts which is unmatched by any festival by far. Every year the initial lineup comes out I always see about 15-20 bands at least that Would 100% provide a kick ass late night set. I dont get that vibe. and other than the headliners I don't see any bands that jump out at me and say I CANT MISS THAT SHOW! we all say that at some point and for me and some of the old rooers Nothing says that this year. There are plenty of great musicians like BB and Willie and allman bros. But I need some damn face melting. Sorry for the rant its been building for quite some time.
And I know there will be additions but honestly its hard for me to hold onto hope that the additions will some how magically change everything. I mean over the year the additions have got weaker and less frequent. Last year there were hardly any worth while additions, please correct me if i'm wrong. and one was the cafe acts which take up about 20 30 bands alone. So in reality we are looking at 5 maybe 10 decent additons. But like last year the blew their load on the initial lineup and fizzled out with the additions rolled over and fell alseep. I mean i years past I used to be just as excited if not more excited about the additions compared to the initial line-up. The would have solid names all the way till the last addition. Instead the additions are basically to fill the smaller tents in early time slots. I hope i'm wrong but i'm also trying not to be niave. IS ANYONE ELSE WORRIED ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE LATE NIGHT ACTS THIS YEAR? if your not worried please explain to me how you feel the late night could pan out to be amazing. Kayne West dancing in front of lights singing "gold digger" doesn't persuade me either.
Im also worried about this (I hate the person kanye west is), but I do believe that sigur ros will put on an epic late night set. You'll leave in tears it will be so good. I also believe something is in store for superjam. Think about all of the great people who will be there. Jack white, plant, eddie vedder, lesh and some more. think of the possibilities....
I think it's good that Bonnaroo is not only becoming more popular, but its good that their reaching out to more mainstream artists. Mainstream music has its good qualities here and there, but how will people understand the quality of great music if all they listen to is whats on the radio? How will they know about the bands that cherish their music as art and not a measly dollar in their pocket? As long as Bonnaroo becomes more popular, I think it means good things for the music industry. Bonnaroo is one of the only multi-million dollar companies that seem to care about the quality of music anymore. I say the more popular the better. As long as superfly is not giving in to all the publicity crap on mtv and recognize music as an art, the more different kinds of people can be branched out to. Lets get people listening to more than the crap on the radio, and lets get people to understand what music is all about. And after saying that, I'm gonna let Bonnaroo take care of that....meanwhile, after seeing the line-up....i mean....its good and all....but langerado is looking really good about now.
I was thinking if I had the power to tweak 'roo (just a little bit within reason)
1. I hear Roger Waters is headlining Coachella. Why not Bonnaroo? I don't know his tour schedule but I'm assuming they could have gotten him if they really wanted. I figure he's someone who's never been there and would be new to the festival. Yeah, he's a nostalgia act but the music of Floyd would be ok with pretty much everyone. So give him Friday night.
2. Keep Pearl Jam for Saturday. (I was really never a big PJ fan but I know a lot of people regard them as a great band so why not)
3. Get Metallica and Kanye the eff outta there?
4. Bump Phil up to Sunday headliner and kick Jack Johnson down a couple of notches. Did I miss something? When did Jack Johnson become a headliner? Don't get me wrong, I like his music but headline?!?! Yeah Yeah, he's growing in popularity, he sells a lot of records, and he can attract all the local teenagers when he goes on tour, but I just cannot wrap my head around him closing out Bonnaroo. Phil's set in '06 was phenomenal. Through the rain and all it just rocked. I can't imagine trading that for a set of slow, mellow acoustic songs that will probably culminate with half of the crowd sitting down. Come on Superfly. Whatever else you've done, you really need to pull your heads out of your asses on this one. Close the fest with Phil and keep JJ in the late afternoon where he belongs.
5. Throw in some moe., bisco, galactic, mmw, ween, and claypool. Just a few of the old staples. Throw them in the mix with the other undercard bands that alot of people seem to be jazzed up about and I think we have a festival that everyone, old and new crowd, can enjoy or at least live with.
If these simple requests were met I might consider going

I also just finished all 26 pages. I felt it would help me make my decision on if Im going or not. Ive been every year since 05 and loved it everytime. Im the one who is always talking about roo to friends, so I tihnk a bunch of my friends are going this year and I think they are counting on me to be their bonnaroo ambassador. Which if I go I will totally show them everything, but I will want them to go off and experience it foer themselves for a while. So im probably coming to the farm for the 4th time. My only other fest that I wanna go to is waka. Its close and much cheaper. I really hope TMV shows ujp at roo. Im almost 98 percent sure TMV will show. They havent been back to roo in 2 years. they have released 2 albums since then (one of which just came out tuesday before last) So theyve gotta be touring it. Theyve just gotta. Also excited to see the addtions and what superjam will be. What about electronica latenights? Im thinking Justice, or LCD soundsystem. What about the rapture? Ive been hearing good things about ghostland, so Im excited for that. I also called sigur ros being here this year which Im pumped for. Thats some awesome music that sigur ros. Its like music to listen to in the womb, or watching a lava lamp for 6 hours. What about more hiphop? Waka has Del the funkee homosapien. That would be sick! and CAKE? sheesh. How about 2x Galactic set at waka? I know they were at roo last year but they could come back and would be greatly welcomed (I also think I remember Galactic being added later on to the lineup last year. and that was an awesome addtion.) I agree with some of the people on here. I think superfly has something up their sleeve!
There are so many good artists that it doesn't bug me that Metallica, Kanye and Jack Johnson will be there. I counted 26 artists I want to see off of that line up. Additions will make it even better. So I don't mind but I do think Superfly made a mistake this year of having acts that just do not fit the vibe.
I was wondering. Does anyone know how all those sources confused lez zeppelin for led zeppelin and didn't take notice that they were billed all the way at the bottom of the roster?

the press release superfly/ac sent out had them at the top as a joke
