I've come to the conclusion that pretty much everyone we're meeting right now is very important to The Island's history. I bet Jack's granddad has been to The Island at one time. There's something with Jack's bloodline that has history with The Island. I don't know if this will wind up happening or not, but I had a thought during the last episode, that it would make sense for Kate to get pregnant right before they go back. I think they need Jack's seed for The Island. And since Aaron's gone, it would make sense.
That's pretty much what I've been thinking as well! Jack's grandfather has something to do with the island.... I think Jack's family is very important to the history island. Could the bones of "Adam and Eve" that they found in the cave be Aaron and Jack & Kate's kid??? I have a feeling Aaron will end up back on the island.
If anyone is as obsessed with Lost as I am, I highly recommend checking out the Lost Podcast by Jay and Jack. The guys themselves can be a bit annoying, but a lot of good theories are called in by listeners. There's a podcast on Thursday mornings, after Wednesday night episodes, and also another one on Mondays. I enjoy the Monday episodes because they delve a bit deeper into theories.
Tonight. I have a feeling that this is gonna be THE episode. Seems inevitable that many questions will be answered and the bigger picture will be made much more clear.
^^^ I don't follow Lost, but the mention of a giant foot statue peaked my interest. I lived in Italy for a few years, and in one of the little side streets in Rome, there is a huge foot on a pedastal. It's just one of 4 parts that is left of a ginormous statue of Constantine. Don't know if this helps you at all... I'll look for a picture.

Tonight's episode is titled "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham". And you know who's guest starring??? WALT!
Too bad, I wish I could have helped... One day I'll have to get all the seasons on Blu-ray and just have a sit down. It seems a lot of people are really into it.
Does anybody think that Mathew Abbadon could be Walt?
Hmm... that's an interesting theory. What makes you think they could be the same? Thinking about it, I personally don't think that's the case. I actually think Abbadon has something to do with the Black Rock.

^I agree, there is definitely going to be a showdown between Locke and Ben this season and one of them is getting messed up (preferably Ben). I was hoping that the episode would have shed some more light on whats happening on the island.

Yeah, me too. If there's one thing I should know by now it's that whenever I think I know what the next episode is gonna be about, I'm almost always wrong.
I'm really confused as to why Ben killed Locke. I mean, he could have just let him commit suicide, but he didn't. He tired to convince him to live and then turned around and killed him. He had to have known the island would resurrect Locke. Did someone (Jacob or Richard?) tell Ben he had to kill Locke? That's the only thing that makes sense to me. Seems like Ben is only concerned with holding onto power. I don't think there's anyone on his side anymore except maybe Jack(ironically). Ben's gonna have to die this season methinks.

My thinking is that Ben came there to kill Locke, and when he found him in that state figured that if he turned around said "OK, Bye", Locke would maybe rethink things. Ben had to be sure. The other possibility is that it has something to do with Locke mentioning Eloise Hawking; Ben didn't want to kill him until he heard that name. I don't know whats up with that.
I've been slightly dissappointed in this season after thinking last year was the best since Season 1. It just seems like we are back to getting farther and farther from knowing anything with every episode.
The thing I am most bitter about in the whole show is the fact that the whole "tail section" plotline turned out to be a totally pointless waste of time. Basicly the relevance of that plotline to the show now is that Bernard and Rose show up every 5 eps or so. So seeing a bunch of new characters in a new plane crash at this point makes me ask "Really?" Apparantly they crashed on the other island, because that dude was in Ben's Hydra station office.
I do think its back to being a great show and do feel like the writers actually have a plan for the first time, so thats a good thing.
He had to have known the island would resurrect Locke.
My thoughts exactly. I've been thinking all along there's something going on with death and the island. Remember when Mikhail shot Bea Klugh when she told him to (season 3)? For some reason I still think she's alive. Like the island won't really let you die until it's ready for you to die; you have to die by its terms, if that makes sense. It wasn't Locke's time, and Ben knew that so he knew that Locke would be resurrected when he got back to the island.
As to why he killed Locke and didn't let him kill himself, I have some theories but none of them really make sense... I'll have to think on it some more.
I'm getting tired of this Ben/Widmore power struggle. I'm at the point where I really don't care anymore who is evil. I'm just ready for one of them, or both of them, to die!

It sounds like we are all on the same page here, we want to know whats happening on the island! It's good to see what actually happened to Locke when he left the island, but for the last couple episodes they have barely touched on what is happening with the island. There's still all these changes in time occuring. The commercial for the next episode made it look like it will focus on the island and Sawyer, so hopefully that's the case. The people that crashed on the newest flight don't really concern me, I wanna know whats happening with the people that LOST has been about since the beginning. Still though, it has been an exciting season so far.
And I think that by the end of the season Locke will finally kill Ben.

Pretty sure Ben killed Locke cause Locke was a failure in getting the 06 to get back to the island. When Locke said Jin had given him the ring, Ben's eyes lit up like fire because his plan was set in motion.

so, here is one thing i can't wrap my mind around...
remember when that plane came and dropped off all the Dharma food? how'd that plane get there? and why was it dropping off food if all the dharma people are dead?

I'm not entirely certain that a plane dropped off the food. Yes, there was a parachute attached so we would assume a plane/helicopter dropped it off, but I think it came from somewhere on the island. Or the "portal" was used to deliver it. Whatever the reason, I think it will be explained before the show ends.
I also believe there are people watching the island. They have to know the Dharma Initiative is over... or is it? ???
This show is such a mindf*ck. I can't wrap my head around the time thing. Island time=Real time, then it doesn't, then it does. Now we have to wait 2 weeks for another episode? WTF?!!?
Maybe a dumb question and perhaps already been answered so sorry in advance. If they can leave the island in the sub, how can they get back? I love the show, but am getting more confused.

I think that's why the Lamp Post station (the church where Mrs. Hawking is located) was created, to determine the windows of opportunity to leave and come back. But of course not everyone would be in touch with the Lamp Post, so the non-important people (such as Juliet) wouldn't have a clue how to get off the island.
