"Jeremy Bentham was not John Locke. He was a clone of Locke that was created in the Vault below the Orchid station (like the rabbits). Whether this happens as an accident or was purposeful remains to be seen."
And right before the beginning of this season, I elaborated:
"I created the Bentham blog last summer because I am convinced that Jeremy Bentham and John Locke are two different people. In the Orchid video, a bunny clones itself and Dr. Halliwax (Pierre Chang) makes reference to both a 'shift' and the Casimir Effect. Without getting too scientific...I just have a feeling that during Locke's bumbling efforts to follow in Ben's footsteps, he somehow activates a time shift which creates a clone: Bentham."
In this Orchid video, Chang talks about exotic matter being embedded beneath the island. According to, yes, Wikipedia, if you combine that exotic matter with negative energy density, you can stabilize a wormhole. The Casimir Effect can produce a mass-negative region of space-time, used to stabilize a wormhole to allow faster than light travel. To me, that wormhole is "the loophole" by which Mystery Man is able to become Evil Twin Locke." (from the link i provided)
I think that the first cloning happened during the 316 flight when they were landing. This created the 30 year gap between the survivors of that flight. This is also where Locke was cloned into the bad guy. I think that the bad guy jumped into locke's body when they were close enough to the island, and that cloned him. I believe that no one can kill Jacob unless someone special to the island does it. Evil Locke couldn't kill Jacob, so he had Ben do it. I'm still thinking about why this would happen. But anyways, killing Jacob, that will create another time shift, and will clone someone. Maybe Jacob, I don't know. That's why we saw the bright light at the end of the show that signifies time travel. I'm still working on this theory, but I think it makes sense.

"I think the mystery man (satan figure - evil)can inhabit other's bodies such as Christian who was in the cabin, but has no power against the greater spirit, Jacob, (a Christ figure). Mystery man's spirits was contained by the ash, but when Locke entered the cabin, he was convinced to remove a section of the ash by the mystery man who claimed to be Jacob. This freed his spirit to roam the island looking for his loop hole."
Me: He had no one to jump into until 316 came close enough to the island and then he could jump into the dead locke.

I don't know about all that other stuff, but this makes perfect sense. I've been wondering about the ash and it's significance alot since the last episode.

"Perhaps the loophole is that the Lost Gods can't harm each other, so a god's death would be at the hand of man. (Imagine what power gods have if man does not believe/follow/have faith, etc.)"

Ditto. They seem to have made a big deal about the ash so it's got some sort of significance. I don't buy the whole Locke being cloned theory though.
'Lost' scoop: Juliet mystery (sort of) solved May 18, 2009, 11:52 PM | by Michael Ausiello
And now for some news that should surprise no one: ABC is expected to announce tomorrow that it has picked up a reboot of the camptastic '80s thriller V and that Lost heroine Elizabeth Mitchell is a full-time castmember.
Translation: She will not be returning to Lost as a series regular.
However, before you go declaring Juliet DOA from last week's detonated hydrogen bomb, I should point out that this piece of scoop comes with a big but attached: Mitchell's Lost days are not done. Multiple sources confirm that the actress is expected to appear in an unspecified number of episodes next season, so it's entirely possible Juliet survived Jughead and her absence will be explained in another way.

^ You made me laugh
(P.S. Totally off topic, but your hellinois location also made me laugh. A long time ago, a friend and I decided to go on a road trip for no particular reason. We ended up driving to Illinois (from TN). By the time we got there, we were in a pretty goofy mood, and we decided that we didn't like Illinois, so we dubbed it "Illannoying." Looking back, it was pretty silly, but, at the time, we thought it was utterly hilarious.)

I was watching a re-run on Sci Fi tonight and Charlie remains my favorite character. There was no need for him or that little subplot to be written in. I demand Charlie back now!!
I think after the flash its safe to say that anyone could return. Not to mention the whole Jacob leaving Hurley that guitar which I believe to be Charlies. I personally think most of the cast will be returning except perhaps Ecko. From what Ive read he wasnt too hip on continuing the show.
PS. Im glad you guys enjoyed my joke and Im gonna start using Illannoying.
On a side note, my gf finally started watching LOST about a month ago. She plowed through all five seasons in that time both on DVD and my DVR and got to watch the season finale in real time. Now she's all pissed about having to wait till next year. I told her welcome to the club. hahahaha

Smoke Monster From 'Lost' Given Own Primetime Spin-Off Series
BURBANK, CA—Executives at ABC announced Monday that the network will premier a new Lost spin-off series this fall based around that show's popular smoke monster character.
The new series, a half-hour family-oriented comedy called Where There's Smoke, is touted by ABC as the new anchor of its Thursday-night lineup. "Somewhere between the smoke monster's first appearance on Lost— when it was depicted as a strange unseen force uprooting trees—and that episode in season three where it grabbed Mr. Eko and smashed him against the ground until he was dead, this character became the breakout star of the show," said Stephen McPherson, president of ABC Entertainment. "And that's exactly why we're so excited about Where There's Smoke. We get to see the monster's light comedic side in a show about life, love, and good friends having good times." "Because after all, Where There's Smoke, there's laughter," McPherson added. Enlarge Image Lea Thompson (Caroline In The City) costars with the ominous cloud (Lost) in its new ABC sitcom this fall. ABC sources reported that the series will transplant the evil black cloud from the island of Lost to the suburbs of Chicago, where it works as a sports radio host, surrounded by "a whole new group of crazy characters." Actress Lea Thompson has signed on to play the monster's long-suffering wife, who must put up with her husband's screwball antics while raising the couple's two rambunctious children, Tanner and Smoky, Jr. Veteran TV producer Chuck Lorre, of Dharma & Greg and The Big Bang Theory fame, will helm the show, which he said will focus mainly on the deadly creature's adjustments to suburbia and fatherhood, and its comically contentious relationship with its boss, a fussy radio station manager played by Richard Kind. "The whole concept began with us asking, 'So what happens to the monster after it kills somebody and disappears down that ancient temple vent? What kind of life might it have?'" Lorre said. "And what we realized is that audiences really relate to this character and would like to see it in everyday situations, shooting the breeze with buddies at a local watering hole or murdering its son's soccer coach and depositing his lifeless body in a tree." "And of course, you'll be hearing lots of its classic catchphrase, 'Brrrrr, chk-chk-chk-chk, muuuuuuuuuuuuaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrhhh,'" Lorre added. Lost producer Jack Bender has confirmed that the smoke monster will no longer be part of his show's regular cast. However, ABC has promised that Where There's Smoke will feature a number of guest appearances from Lost regulars. Sources said the pilot episode will feature an appearance by actor Michael Emerson as a slobby houseguest named Benjamin Linus who overstays his welcome, much to the chagrin of the smoke monster's wife. Though the project has been in development for almost a year, negotiations reached a standstill last winter when representatives for the mysterious, billowing actor expressed concern that their client would risk being typecast as "just a smoke monster" if the role were carried into a new series. "We're always sensitive to these kinds of things, but we actually think this new vehicle will make people realize [the monster] is a sophisticated actor with a great deal of range," said McPherson, who agreed to pay the show's star $2 million per episode after scenes between the smoke monster and a nosy, ethnic next-door neighbor tested well with audiences. "People love the smoke monster, and people love to laugh. This series is a can't-miss." Added McPherson, "And I'm not just blowing smoke here."
Holy freakin' canoli...why did I not know this thread existed while the show was going on?! I have like no one to talk to about it. You guys are totally my heroes...I am so glad to see that other people noticed the whole biblical thing going on. There were a couple of people I did talk to about it but they thought I was crazy for thinking they'd bring some sort of religious overtone to it. The season ended so long ago, I doubt anyone will be reading this anytime soon. Ah well...I'm gonna put my 2 cents in anyway.
All of you guys are freakin' awesome at deducing this crazy story line, I'd like to point out first. Someone did say something a while back about Jacob not being a Jesus/God figure. But the scene on the beach with "Locke" and Ben, Locke was asking Ben why he would have faith in someone that you were asked to follow blindly and for someone who asked you to do things, but when Ben wanted to see Jacob he was denied after all of his hard work for him. That just seems like a case that a non-christian would be making towards a believer. I also agree with the whole tapestry symbolizing Jacob weaving the story of the Oceanic peoples' lives. When Locke fell out of the building Jacob was reading a book that had a dove on the cover.
As I was reading deeper into this thread I was thinking "No one has said anything about the smoke monster being guy who's the opposing force against Jacob... awesome! I can add something!" And then towards the end someone mentioned it... Oh well...I agree with that as well.

Possible spoilers but not really. This is a summary from comic con:[/u]
Ben, Sawyer, Alpert and Hurley were all there along with Charlie who popped up at the very end (hmmmmmmmm)
1) Parallel with S1 and S6 - DL confirms many characters from season one! CC: Says there is a way of discovery that they will have in play in S6 2) Faraday confirmed for S6!! 3) Will we see flashbacks to characters' childhood? CC says S6 will be different. CC won't describe what that point of difference is. 4) Richard Alpert's backstory is "involved" 5) DL: Juliet WILL be in final season. 6) Q: Is Man in Black's name "Esau?" Emerson: Might be too literal--but I like the way your mind works. 7) Food drop in S2 finale might be covered... DL: "Something we'll try to address." 8) We won't see much DHARMA in S6 9) Jacob has NOT appeared as another character on the show. 10) Dominic Monaghan appeared on the panel!!!!
Apparently they have already approached Charlie, Boone, Shannon, Faraday, Juliet, and Eko about returning.
Though i find it interesting the characters that are on the new season 6 poster. It features 26 characters including Faraday, Boone, Miles, Michael, Ana Lucia, Charlotte, Shannon, Desmond, Eko, Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Locke, Ben, Sayid, Libby, Sun, Jin, Claire, Hurley, Juliet, Charlie, Frank, Richard, Bernard, and Rose. So maybe they will all be featured.
throwing in Illana, Bram, Christian, Jacob, Mr. X, Widmore, Eloise, and others makes a TON of characters for season 6 so IDK.

"In celebration of LOST's final season and as a project of fan appreciation, 16 top designers and artists, who are also fans of the show, were commissioned to create artwork celebrating one of the series' most memorable, and unforgettable, "water cooler" moments. This ultimate "fan art" was then turned into labor intensive, hand-pulled screen prints, limited to an edition of just 300, with less than 200 available to the public through our websites. Each beautiful poster tells its own different story, allowing the fan to relive memorable and influential moments in an artistic manner, as the show's storied run comes to a close. Once this limited edition print has sold out, they will never be printed again. Celebrate the fandom, community and family created by one of televisions' greatest shows by hanging a little part of it's history, inspiration and influence on your wall."

Don't know where you can watch it online but I'll keep my eyes and ears open. And you definitely don't need to read through here before you watch season 5 (which is killer, by the way).
