The Vincent thing is just an idea, I could be completely wrong, too. I actually looked up the saint Vincent (since we know the writers like to intertwine famous people from history into the show). I can't find the wiki entry I read now, but he was big into the care of the sick and establishing hospitals. Doesn't so much tie into Lost.
And I always make Sayid have a bigger part in all of this than anyone else I've ever talked to thinks he has.
I do this too because Sayid is just freakin' awesome. Also because I really can't stand Jack or Kate so I want them to be insignificant. But I know this won't be the case since they are like the main characters.
And for the record, if I were on the island, I would have made friends with Locke, Sayid and Hurley immediately.

is that christopher walken there right above the t?
**possible spoilers** [glow=green,2,300][shadow=green,left,300]Naveen Andrews, who portrays Sayid Jarrah, had a theory that the series finale will feature the rescue boats coming to rescue Vincent while the graves of all the survivors are seen behind him.
Damon Lindelof confirmed in the February 4, 2009 episode of the Official Lost Podcast that Vincent will survive through the end of Season 6, making Vincent the first and so far only character that has been confirmed to survive the entirety of the series. (Official Lost Podcast transcript/February 5th, 2009)[/shadow][/glow]
is there a way to just highlight and then make the text the same color as the highlight?

With what StreetBum just posted, you might be on to something with the Vincent theory!
Sayid just might be one of my favorite characters of all time including TV, movies and books. And Kate was interesting in Season 1 and 2, I thought but then it seemed she became a damsel in distress that needed rescuing all the time. Also, I didn't buy her as a mom. It seemed really forced. Half the people would have died if it weren't for Doc Shepard so I can't hate him, though I do find him to be one of the least interesting characters.
I agree that Locke, Hurley and His Badassedness, Sayid would have been the first people I would make friends with. Actually, I did love Kate in Season 1 and mostly 2 so I would have made friends with her as well. And Vincent, because it would be really nice to have a dog to play with there.

I feel like Charlie and me would have been broing it up the whole time. Although I probably would have been one of the extras to get killed because I don't think I'm f'ed up enough to be one of the losties. I miss Charlie
I've been staying away from info relating to season 6 (at least until I'm done with my re-watch of all seasons) but I'm curious if anyone has heard any word on Walt for S6? During my re-watch of season 1, I realize how passive they are about his "special skills". Walt claims that his other dad Brian claimed him to be the luckiest guy on earth, that when he wants something, he gets it. Don't you guys think this "skill" could be put to use???
I know we had a discussion about him a few pages back, but I'd really really like to see him reappear in this season....

there is something special about him, it makes me think he will return. remember when they were on the boat, the others came and took him because he was special

season 5 was the nutz. i was never so '!!!!!!' after the end of a lost season finale. i actually think seasons 4 and 5 are the best. they are short and sweet. no fluff episodes like in season 3. season 6 will be an atom bomb (har har har).

I finished the entire season 5 this weekend at work. It's a lot easier to understand the second time around. I don't think the island cares about Ben, Sun, or Frank since they ended up on Hydra Island instead of the main island.
I really don't think that they can change anything. Faraday said that "whatever happened , happened". But you never know. Somehow Ben remembers that he was taken to the temple to be healed after Sayid shot him.
I'd like to know how Ethan became an Other since he was born in the Dharma Initiative. Has this been explained?
If Jack had saved Ben's life in 1977, do you think that he would have turned into the person that he is now? Richard said that he would never be the same if the island healed him. So I guess that it's Kate and Juliet's fault that he's a ruthless bastard.
I want to know what the island's healing process is.
Why did Ben's house in Dharmaville have a secret entrance to the place where he summons the smoke monster? That doesn't make any sense. Also Richard busted through a wall of a house when they took the bomb from the temple. Did the DI not know about the temple? It's strange that you could build all of this stuff and not realize that the temple was there.
How did Faraday get on the sub in 1977. He said that he was in Ann Arbor doing research. I don't remember him ever leaving. He is, by far, my favorite character. I love that he still has his tie on.
Has Daniel's mother seen the future because she seems to know an awful lot of things that wil happen. Maybe Im just still confused about all of the time travel.
Why does Eloise Hawking help Ben and Widmore?
I really want to see what Faraday did in Ann Arbor.
I'm just hoping that they don't disappoint me in season 6.

i think you have alot of these questions simply from
Maybe Im just still confused about all of the time travel.
i think once they started traveling, things got all fuckered up.... in time and space. i think when/if time and space get back on track things will start to explain themselves?
questionablesanity, your post made my head hurt! I just finished re-watching season 1 last night, so my mind is sooo far from the time travel plotline. But I'm sure once I get to season 5, I'll have lots to discuss once again.
On another note, the lady that plays Cindy is in a Bounty paper towel commercial. Does anyone else get confused when they see Losties elsewhere in media? (ok, not really confused but just sortof thrown off for a moment)

Ethan probably was saved by Ben and brought in to the circle once he knew they were going to kill dharma.
Hawking knows whats going to happen because she already experienced what is Jack and company's present. She already knew would kill Daniel and that they would blow up the bomb, but she doesn't know anything that happens after that becuase the losties were transported somewhere after the explosion. That's why Eloise doesn't know whats going to happen next as she explained to Penny.

That makes sense. I thought I stayed on top of most of it. I'm just really bothered that I can't remember, or maybe it wasn't shown, when Faraday left. The last I remember him was after Charlotte died. I may have to research this a little bit.

Yeah it is only vaguely referred to. Someone asks if Faraday is here and Sawyer says "not anymore" or something to that effect. And then he comes back at the end of Some Like It Hoth.
Faraday is also my favorite. Great actor, great character.

Maybe they're as eager as we are for LOST to come back on???
Maybe those first two are not episodes of Lost? Since they have the correct title and date for the premiere....

I remember Sawyer saying that but I though he was referring to his mental state. Makes more sense now.

few things off the top of my head....the black pearl on water? did mr. ecko club have an axe on it originally? and who is that hazmat guy draging someone? probably not, but i just cant remember off the top of my head. where did you hear about the clues?
edit* are those hyrogligics in the clouds?
if so maybe they tie in to this poster/possible clue
I've done some internet research and apparently one of the clues is in Hurley's hand... he torch that is a burning ankh. The others are still unconfirmed. Some people say the hieroglyphics in the clouds are clues; someone else said they were just the symbols seen in the hatch when the counter reached 108 minutes.
One of my co-workers said something about it so I started internet research that confirmed it straight from Carlton and Damon's mouths. As well as the internet can confirm, that is.

the ankhs have to have some significance. The statue back in the day was holding one in each hand and it is also the necklace that Horace's wife, Amy, kept from her dead husband Paul. Who freaking knows?

maybe this island goes back to the eqyptian times?
like ancient eqyptian times
I've heard that theory before. Someone, somewhere, (yeah I know very specific) mentioned that could be the reason that Nestor Carbonell was chosen to play Alpert, because he could be of Egyptian origin with his dark complexion. And yes, know he's actually Mexican.
I'm not sure how I feel about that theory though. I mean, I guess it could make sense with the temples and hieroglyphics, but I feel like that's too simple of an explanation. There's got to be more to the story of the island.
Post by StreetBum87 on Dec 23, 2009 11:28:43 GMT -5
i wasn't looking at it like an explanation. but say it does go back to eqyptian times, it could help explain some things. those things it could explain i have no idea. but just a thought
