Alrighty there. At the risk of being demonized, I have a question for you fine people. Is anyone else starting to get the feeling that, when all is said and done, Damon Lindelof and J. J. Abrams will have utterly screwed us? Maybe that, in retrospect, most of the viewers who are cool with being wrong every now and then, will look back at this series (and our dvd collections) with disgust? We have less than one season left and the idea that "everything" is going to be explained, justified or even addressed is seeming more and more like a long-shot to little old me. Theorize however you will, but they told us that those who died were really dead and actually going to stay dead, they told us that the survivors were most definitely ON the island, and they even told us that they had the whole thing pretty well worked-out from the beginning. Simply put: I've got too much time and money invested in this show to stop watching at this point, so I'll definitely keep watching, but I also believe that they've lied their donkeys off up to this point. And I honestly can't forsee any sufficient ending to the series unless they bend their own rules even further. For the most part, I've loved this show, but I'm starting to think that when it's over, We're all going to be left with the deja vu of Pam Ewing waking up from her dream to realize that Patrick Duffy wasn't actually ever dead. Again...I do love the show, but I fear we're all just waiting in a nice, orderly line for the meat-grinder. We've faithfully hypothesized, theorized, researched and even scheduled our nights around this show for years and, if they do screw us over like I fear they will, I hope everyone here commits to boycotting all future Abrams/Lindelof projectsand productions. If I'm as wrong as I hope I am, forget all about this. If, however, it turns out like it appears, please don't just accept it and them and keep on buying their bullhonkey brah products. Okay. I'm done now.

Everything won't be answered, so if you'll be disappointed over that then go ahead and accept it.
I believe dead is dead. I believe the survivors are on the island. I believe they had it relatively worked out from the beginning.
I don't think it's fair or reasonable for us fans to think that they had every single detail worked out. I think obviously by "Jacob's" canyon and all the mentions of Jacob they had what I would consider the "A" story line from the beginning.
I get where you're coming from, and I think in the end the fanbase will be incredibly divided over how the show turns out.

^ you're 100% right, man. It probably will come down to a division between the viewers, and that (in a round about way) was my point...I guess. I'm not trying to get into an argument about the outcome, as it hasn't come to fruition yet, but I will say that when Charlie follows Jack saving his life (in season 6, might I add) by saying "I should have died", it's hard to not think that they are going-back on the whole "the dead are really dead" thing. Maybe time-travel or dimensional hoopla will be the justification in the end, but it seems pretty cheap and dishonest to me.

^Again: I'm not trying to claim that I know anything. I'm not sure of anything. I'm just voicing my concerns regarding the past claims of the producers, the current state of the story and my percieved outcome. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I just don't think they can make the last six years worth the hassle.

I should have died may have been something more or it may have been a throwaway line. But it's in the alternate timeline, which as long as we're complaining I think is going to end up being an absolute waste of time. Get me back to Jacob v. MiB as soon as possible.
The producers have said that all questions won't be answered. They only plan on answering the questions that are pertinent to the characters. So, the producers aren't so concerned with our inquiries on "who built the statue" and such.
I'm trying not to over-theorize this season, or hope for any sort of preferrable outcome. I'm just going with the flow and enjoying the show while I can

Maybe I'm just hoplessly oldschool, but I believe that if someone asks a question or tells a riddle or whatever analogy you want to make, they should be willing and able to answer it themselves. Otherwise, isn't it just pure bs??

I’ve been thinking, maybe this alternate time line with them on the plane....maybe it was just showing what would have happened had they not gone to the island, or if the island had never been around(under the ocean) at the time they were flying. And they won’t continue on with it. Maybe just getting that scenario out of the way. I dont know, just a thought.

I think I read an article with DL and CC and one of them said that they want to show you that they would have affected each other's lives even if they hadn't landed on the island. I take that to mean that they will really xplore that.

What is MiB??? I was looking on IMDB last night and saw it mentioned, but cannot figure it out, my brain kept thinking "Man in Black", but I can't think of what that's referring to besides maybe John Locke's funeral attire??....please don't make fun of me if it's something ridiculously easy, just tell me what it is please?
I think they will leave a lot of questions unanswered. There's no way they can answer everything.
oh i agree. you are basically able to read a secret meaning into almost literally every aspect of the show, and everyone has their own individual questions.
i just don't think they should start posing new ones! haha.

MIB does refer to "Man in Black". It's the man that is currently "possessing" Locke's body. Some people refer to him as Esau (who was Jacob's brother in the Bible). Either way, the are referencing the same man: The man that Jacob was speaking to at the beginning of the season 5 finale; this is the man that said to Jacob: "Do you know how bad I want to kill you?"
I'm not sure which puzzles me more, this LOST episode or the current Roo lineup.
I'm contemplating this idea of "darkness" in people. Can we assume that Sayid developed this sickness/infection BEFORE he died? (I don't think it was the spring that did it to him) If so, how does one get infected? Is it through sacrifice or something?
And, once again, I'm soooo tired of Kate. Let her die already. Better yet, make Sawyer kill her. But I was a bit proud of Jack tonight, with the swallowing the pill incident. He may have hope yet.

Please oh god KILL KATE! I knew I was going to hate this episode when i learned last week that it was titled , "What Kate Does." She sucks so much, it enrages me.
I agree that when Lost is all said and done that there will be a split, I will most certainly be split myself. I know that they will throw us a crazy curve ball and not really give us a resolution but it will be badass too. At least with the parallel universe, we get more Locke!
danbird Yeah, Mac from IASIP! I couldn't take any of his scenes seriously. I kept expecting Charlie Pace to come out as Charlie Kelly coming out of the jungle yelling, "WILDCARD BIOTCHES!" I will say that Mac is pretty good looking without his MacHair.
I was drunk when I watched tonight. When they said Kate signed in as "Joan Hart," my thoughts went: Joan Hart? Melissa Joan Hart? Clarissa Explains It All? Clairissa Explains It All? Cllaaah will explain it all! I'm positive there is a much more intellectual and literary reason for the Joan Hart but if Clair ends up explaining it all, I'm going to give my drunk logic a lot more credit.
JHOinTN-I was thinking that if any darkness "infected" our boy, it was when he got shot or before the flash. I'm going to hate to love this show if he kicks the bucket. I'm actually loving badass old school Kate though. I think she'll redeem herself for all her damsel in distress antics this season, and I'm really looking forward to that.
The more I think about that episode, the more disappointed I am in it. It didn't get interesting until the last 15 minutes. And I'm already bored with the alternate reality timeline.
I think Josh Holloway(Sawyer) did an excellent job on that dock scene.
All I could think of during that scene was, "Wow, he's gained some weight!" I can't take him seriously. I've never bought the Sawyer/Juliet romance because we saw so little of it... and possibly because I couldn't stand Juliet.
