i started rewatching the first season last night for the first time in like four years. i know the writers more than likely didn't have the whole jacob vs MiB thing in mind when filming the pilot episodes, but it's just so strange how many long closeups they have of Locke just sitting on the beach as he watches the jungle or beach. and when he has the backgammon pieces, claiming the game is 5000 years old and holds up the light and dark pieces. it's so interesting.
in continuing my watching of the first season over again, i'm starting up a theory that Aaron is the Man in Black. the psychic from the claire-centric episode in season 1 says to claire, "it is important that only you can raise this child, your goodness must play a part in raising him." we all know how that ends up with Kate taking Aaron off the island and Claire going batshiit crazy. any thoughts?

My only thought is that Aaron is not MiB. How would that even be possible? MiB (in Christian form) was the one who coaxed Claire into the jungle while Aaron was still a baby.

Just want to say I'm a HUGE Lost fan. Enjoying this season, and can't wait to see how it ends. I also listen to The Lost Podcast w/ Jay & Jack, which is essential to my experience with the show.

i want to say it's going to have something to do with a time flash. baby Aaron will go back thousands of years in a time flash, jacob will find him, touch him and have him live forever like him. i just always find it interesting that we don't know the real name of the MiB, and that of all people MiB took into the jungle it was Claire. and didn't it say somewhere that MiB had mommy issues or am i just imagining that?

No, you are correct that the MiB did say that he had "mommy issues." I see where you're going with this and it does make some sense to me. However, if this were the case and Aaron were the MiB, I would not be happy.
^ yeah wat it is i think is that i'm just rewatching the first season and looking too far into it. Trying to see what from the first season has come six seasons far and what has just been abandoned and never bothered to be explained. if anyone has the time i recommend they do the same just for kicks.
and in two weeks, when "Across the Sea" airs i think we'll have most of our questions about Jacob and MiB answered.

I think MiB said something about having something in common with Aaron, the fact that they both had crazy mothers. If they pull time traveling crap out of their ass as a big explanation, I will be furious.

Wow.....so everyone's dead....in the cheesiest way possible.
I'm sorry but that scene on the sub was, absolutely hilarious. I know it wasn't meant to be, but everyone getting knocked out or stuck or shot and then they had to be rescued by someone else. I couldn't help but laugh. That was lame. Really really lame.
Like I've said before. I'm more intrigued with the flash-sideways timeline as I'm sure this is where the final answers are going to come. We need Desmond and Jack to meet in that timeline.

I was actually pretty sad when I saw Kate got shot. As much as the love triangle sucked I'm still kinda attached to her. She is trying to do the right thing with Claire. I was just sick of the Sun/Jin story line, and Sun can't act.

I think you're right. SAyid will probably redeem himself with his own sacrifice. I def see him dying before it's all over.
Not to brag or anything
All I have to say about that episode is that Terry O'Quinn is an amazing actor. That scene in the hospital between Jack and Locke when Locke explained his accident actually made me cry. The emotion in his eyes was intense. I could care less about Sun and Jin. I've been ready for them to die for a long time. I'll miss Jeff Fahey's squinty eyes. Once Sayid started looking at that bomb, his voice and demeanor changed and I knew his end was coming. I think Jack was right about the bomb not going off. Sawyer got everyone killed and I'm ready for him to die.
Someone said on a previous page that the last scene of the series will be Jack and MiB playing out the scene where we first met Jacob and MiB. I totally agree with that.

Sun and Jin may have died in the island timeline, but a few minutes later we see Jin walking down the hall in the hospital. So it's hard to even care when people die, because they all end up in the alt anyway.
i'm in the minority on this board that actually liked jin and sun. i've said it before but i think it was the only believable love story on the show. it was just kinda anticlimactic that after going all of season 5 and most of season 6 being separated, they are reunited for one episode and then.... dead. at least they died together. it was corny but it fit. sayid on the other hand.... didn't see that coming.
edit: also, the four people that are left, Jack, Kate, Sawyer, and Hurley, are the same four people that were on Michael's list at the end of season 2. just pointing that out.
