i agree. i cant beleive dirk still got league mvp. its looking more and more like the pistons will win it all pretty easily.
Don't speak so soon. The Spurs had a very off game, that won't happen again. I do see it being the Spurs and Pistons in the championship...but, the Pistons can't handle the Spurs in a 7 game series. Not a chance.
oh i thtink they can. the pistons are firing on all cylinders. the spurs are tough but ill go with the pistons in 5. id say its definitely between the piston and whoever wins the suns spurs series. i dont see utah or golden state winning against either team. i think the spurs might be an easier matchup then the suns for the pistons. but i could be biased. i hate the spurs with a passion.
im still blown away by how much the bulls suck. hopefully the detroit cleveland series will be a little more fun to watch. that golden state utah series has been entertaining. baron davis is so damn good its crazy. but if the warriors dry up from 3 theyve got problems. they cant make them like that everygame.

Alright Mr. dude....as an avid Spurs fan since the day I could walk and pick up a basketball, I would like to challenge you to a friendly little wager.
Lets bet on a championship series between the Spurs and the Pistons. What if either team doesn't make it to the championship you ask? Then we'll also bet which team will get the farthest. So, if the Spurs lose to the Suns or whoever they'll play in the Conference finals, and ditto for the Pistons, then the other person is declared the winner.
The winner gets to decide what the losers signature at the bottom of each post they make says for the next oh...two months? Anything goes besides racial terms or profanity. So say, If you lose and I win, then I can have your signature say "I am Tim Duncan's lovechild and proud of it." or "The Spurs are probably the greatest team ever created and I have nothing but manlove for them." Sound good? It's just out of fun, thought we coud liven up the series or something.

ill take that bet. i havent come up with what i want yet. im looking for just the right picture of sheed for ya! what i really need is to get my friend who draws to draw me a pic of eva longoria guarding a closet containing timmy and tony ;D
Wow I haven't seen such a one sided game that was decided by fouls and no-calls in the home teams favor since the Jordan Bulls era. I guess the league and David Stern still feel badly about the Duncan ejection vs the Mavs in the season closer so they struck a secret pact with Duncan and promised to hand them a game. The suns got mugged right from the opening tipoff and yet the spurs stll weren't in the penalty yet inside of 5 mins. of the 4th quarter. C'mon refs either let them play and mix it up (good playoof basketball) OR call the game tight at both ends of the court. The game was a travesty and I expect the Spurs to win it all if this trend continues. Don't misunderstand me I like Tim Duncan and Tony and Manu and the rest of the gang, but it really irks me to see games decided by the refs like that. Don't even get me started on the Steelers\Seahawks superbowl....
but i must admit that i thought the refs were letting both teams get waway with some rough stuff. i dont think it changed the outcome. its not like oden plays for the spurs or anything.

^^^^^ ;D Glad my Bucks are still providing sand for your proverbial Wolverine vaseline
And back on topic...although in no way did it change the course of the game(except mentally, perhaps) the officiating in NJ was pretty piss poor to say the least. That T on Ilgauskus was unjust !

PS. GO WARRIORS !!!!
Wow...complain about the Spurs being dirty and then finish off the post with "Go Warriors!" The Warriors are far and away the dirtiest team left in the playoffs...
Five Things I've Learned So Far From the Second Round: 1) Jump shot teams still lose in the playoffs despite what Reggie Miller will try to have you believe. 2) The East is awful. It's Detroit and a bunch of defective half finished ball clubs. Cleveland has no offensive rhythm. New Jersey has no interior. Chicago has no superstar. Orlando and Toronto have no experience. Washington had no backcourt. Detroit's good, but I honestly can't tell how good. 3) Phoenix will never win a title with the team makeup as it is. If they get Atlanta's pick this year, they need to try and package it with Marion and Thomas and make a run at getting Garnett. 4) The Cavs aren't nearly as good as they're made out to be. All their wins are squeaked out and their opponents have been a 6 and a 7 seed. Lebron's watching the Finals at home again this year. 5) Utah can beat anybody in this field. I doubt they lose another home game the rest of the way out to be honest. I still think the Spurs will probably advance past them, but it'd go seven imo.
i hope phoenix dosent lose anyone to suspension just because the spurs are a dirty team with no class. i thought they restrained themselves well given what horry did. this isnt hockey. horry should be suspended for 1 game atleast.
i think phoenix has as good a chance as anyone. i also agree the east is weak. my best guess is phoenix and detroit in the finals. detroit in 6. although it would be sweet to have the pistons whoop on the dirty spurs in the finals. clevelnad could put up a decent fight at home. but the pistons will beat em.

The fact is Nash was pulling nuts all night. He was grabbing guys on screens, on one key possession he blocked Ginobili. Horry probably wanted to send a message but went to high with the shoulder. Part of it also involved Nash who was already diving if you watch the replay. But if Amare and Diaw left the bench, they have to be suspended. It's pretty much a given that everyone knows.
The bottom line is this: Phoenix showed their immaturity tonight in the face of dirty play. They did the opposite of what the Jazz did when Davis elbowed Fisher in the eye and JRich clocked Okur across the neck. And it's probably going to cost them the series. They were winning the game. They should have acted like it.

well i do agree that they are paid way too much to do dumb shit like stepping onto the court. and in the end if they are suspended i think its b.s. but it noones fault but thier own. especially diaw. but for stoudamaire{sp?} he was set to check in on the whistle. the whistle blew and he came on the court. its obvious he was interested in what was going on but since he didnt get involved i dont think he should be suspended. but if he is suspended it will cost them the series. id hate to see a series decided on something so trivial. especially when it involved such a dirty play by the spurs and no retaliation occured. if the spurs and the warriors play i wouldnt be surprised to see someone get shanked as dirty as they both are.

I was disappointed with the level of play last night by both teams(low percentages again) but it was exciting.
I don't know who is making the cavs out to be any good except for me. All I here is Lebron hatin' out there in the national press.
Things around the league are stepping up. For the last 2 games i have been wanting Varejoa or Marshall to lay a cheap one on Mikey Moore. That SOB was getting fed in the lane all night long. What you didn't see highlighted was all of the dirty play he was using to get open.
I, for one, have come to accept some scrappy play around the East. The cavs don't really play their own kind of ball. They meet and supress the game that's brought to them. While I see any of the remaining contenders as tall orders, I don't fear our ability to put up a good fight and make it interesting.
REEEAAALLLYY looking forward to the destined battle of Lake Erie. But I'd rather chicago have the opportunity to tenderize the Pistons for a couple more games !
Oh and that was a super game out west last night. It depends on which angle you see on that levelling for how cheap it appears. They showed the one angle first where Nash seems to play it up a bit. But then when they showed it from behind him, you could see just how jacked he got. Even though I'm not a Barkley fan AT ALL, I was totally down with his post game opinion about "old skool" style of play and intimidation being key.

The Spurs are making me nervous. I watched a lot of that game last night and they were in control the whole game, then they just give it away! Made me sick. They better get their shaznit together!

i wouldnt worry too much. the league just handed the spurs a game. diaw and stoudemire are suspended 1 game and horry for 2. what a bunch of crap. and on the other side of that coin what a couple of morons. they get paid millions of dollars and they cant even remember a simple rule. and it will probably end up costing them a trip to the finals. if it was any other job theyd be fired.

Yeah, this series hasn't really been too enjoyable. I've been disappointed with the way both teams have handled themselves on the court. Too many "dirty" plays going unnoticed by both teams. It's not like the Spurs to act this way. I mean, Bowen has alwasy been an aggressive defender, but it seems everybody is trying to get in on it. At least Parker, Manu and Duncan have some class to just play the game and not get caught up in the stupid antics. Hopefully the next game is better.
Ouch ! That was a tough one. I feel it slipping... Dudezer-your words on the jumpers are haunting me. Granted, it's still 3-2, but heading to NJ after tonight....let's just say the Net's are gellin'
Poor poor tendency to feed the cold guy to try and heat him up. last i remember Larry Hughes was 1 of 17. and the crowd blew too. touchy calls in the first half didn't help, but i'm not here to blame that. now for the west... and at least detroit has fallen apart a bit as well

Yes! Detroit falling apart is a good thing!
Don't count your eggs!
Chicago has made their adjustments, it's time for Detroit to do so as well. For one, don't play so much zone, and tell Hamilton he doesn't have to try and stay inside Heinrich's shirt when he's 25 feet away from the basket, making it easy for Kirk to blow by him and drop it off down low.
I actually feel pretty confident about tonight's game. I don't know why everybody is so shocked that Chicago actually won a couple games. Most people I heard before the series were giving the Bulls a great chance to win it outright. People shouldn't be surprised to see Detroit go hot and cold in the playoffs. It's been happening for years now.
Detroit's going to win this series. Even if Chicago takes it to seven games, the Pistons are too tough and experienced to let the Bulls win. BTW...is anyone looking forward to another Spurs/Pistons finals? At least this year I won't be bummed about missing games while I'm at Bonnaroo.
