That game could have gone either way. Sure there was a "clutch" moment at the end. But not clutch like entire later games may be. And it's a bigger hurdle to be down one for sure. By sizing up, I didn't mean like they don't know each others' games. More like "are they gonna bring the zone", "is tayshaun gonna score much", "will LeBron be ON or will he be mellow" and etc. Cleveland has a way of matching the play of their opponent, no matter what. I'm not saying that's a winning way. In fact, it kinda made them look lax in their NJ series.
I think they are a better club than Chicago for sure. Chicago held that second seed in their hands and got blown out by NJ to lose it.
All that being said. Dtroit is on another level and I make no bones about being the underdog. I actually kind of like it. Hughes can't stay cold forever. LeBron probably had his playoff low game already. Perhaps where the difference lies is where you say Detroit had an "off" game and Cleveland couldn't take advantage. Rather, I think Cle's much under-rated defense Handled yer boyz pretty well.
And that's why I find promise in that loss. In fact, I think alot of the pundits will be re analyzing their analyses. Especially after a couple more.

Fair enough, I really don't mean to discredit Cleveland's defense when I say Detroit didn't play well, but Detroit really didn't play well. I've seen them play much better against Cleveland in the past.
We'll see....your own analyses will gain a lot of weight if Cleveland comes out and plays the same tough defense and Lebron asserts himself more and leads Cleveland to a game 2 win.

Definatly will be a good series. I agree neither team played their best, but i also agree with snoochio that cleveland was more off. I wouldnt be suprised if none of the games got over 100 though.
Now we've got a mountain to climb. Tough play all around. I think LeBron's "level-headedness" is allowing Detroit to exploit the double/triple teaming. He's just so tenative when he sets up a final shot.
And I agree with the analysts THIS TIME, that the cavs should have gone for a quick shot, fouled, and hope to regain another posession.
Some bad calls at the end especially, but I'm not gonna tout that as why we lost. If we could wake up in the third quarter, EVER !
Anyways, more good b-ball to come, but I feel the faith slipping. Last year's run of 3-0 when already down 2-0 is gonna be hard to redo.
Z looked like he either had the flu or had been hanging with Donyell pregame !

Speaking of the flu, McDyess having the flu turned into a blessing in disguise as Jason Maxiel took full advantage. Detroit has to find a way to get Max on the court more. I've been clammoring for it all season but he only played in short stretches. I could see him taking some of Webbers minutes, who looks like he's about 50 out there sometimes.
They were letting them play all game, but yeah, Lebron definitely got fouled on that last play. It would have been interesting to see how he would have done on the line. Tough break.

Oh man, talk about clutch, Lebron has been Jordan-esque these past two 4th quarters. When Gibsons on, thats all Lebron needs to win the game, just one player to step up on offense. I think Gibson should get the start in game 5.
can i finally get someone to agree with me that chauncy billups is overrated and that saunders is one of the worst coachs in nba history. hes right up there with steve fisher. what a sad showing. luckily for the pistons i dont see anyway cleveland can win in detroit. but i also dont see any way the pistons can beat the spurs. its looking to me like the spurs will win it in 5. looks like ill be rocking the spurs sig soon the pistons should have 5 rings and they have 1. just like steve fisher and the fab 5, they could go down as the biggest under achievers in the history of the game for the amount of talent on the team.

I'd not be looking so forward to the finals at this point. the pistons plate is still VERY full. This has become a best of 3 series starting now. granted EACH team has only won at home. but with the scores sooo close, anything can happen.
THIS IS JUST THE TYPE OF SERIES THAT I EXPECTED. scrappy
Pistons shot horribly all night long. Cavs D was shuttin' 'em down as well.
And I wouldn't be hatin' on Chauncey so much. He and Rip carried your scoring !

He has been the past 2 games^. Anyone else think Derek Fisher roided up this past season, i havent really watched The Jazz and i just noticed the other night. Definatly looks bigger then 205, which hes listed for. I just may not have noticed before though, which is odd since i watch The Lakers a lot.

What an amazing performance. I wasn't happy with some of the calls, especially with it being in Detroit, but what are you gonna do.
Detroit came back from the same scenario last year, but you have to believe Cleveland has all the confidence in the world and should close it out. We'll see.

I just love that all anyone could talk about last week was how overrated LeBron was.
Now he's great again.
Nothing in the world more fickle than a pro sports fan!
Anybody talking smack about him was an idiot. The fact that he made that pass in game 1 proves to me how great of a player he is. You have to trust your teammates....look at Jordan, he didn't win until he did. For his sake, I hope he continues to play the right way. For my sake....not so much.
