To all of the Cavs fans coming out of the closet, now ready to talk some $hit on Detroit I say, "WELCOME, it's been lonely !".
What a freakin' game, huh ?
Bad calls continue. But again, I can't blame them for the outcome. Well, perhaps if McDyess was still in, things may have come out different. I'm not sure just how flagrant that one really was. Sure, he hooked Andy with a closeline, but I think they were both in the air and don't think that Andy got wrenched down. It will really be unjust if they suspend McDyess a(nother) game.
"Don't tell me this Conf. ain't got no heart...."
I don't wanna jinx anything, but the odds of me having ANOTHER conflict at Roo just went up !
WOW. I'm still reelin'. That was something else. And to hear Marv call it one of those historic playoff performances and Sir Charles agree !?!?
The Q will be formidable on Saturday.
Incidentally, a buddy of mine was there for the win last Sunday night. He said the place was full of Detroit fans who had made the Memorial Day weekend trip down to C-town. Naturally, everyone in attendance was well primed. He witnessed several "near riot moments" and commented that if the Cavs had lost, things probably would have gotten way out of hand. Frankly, with Cleveland sports history the way it is, I'm suprised the city is not in flames this morning !
OH, and Rasheed-----------most definately a whiny biatch !

I'm not a Cavs fan, so to speak. But I am rooting for them hardcore. Cause then at least I can watch the finals and have someone to root for. I haven't been able to watch any of the games cause I'm working every night when it's on. But I will, without a doubt be watching on Saturday.

This isn't just sour grapes, but I think Cleveland gets beat soundly by San Antonio if the do make it. SA has as good a defender for James as possible in Bowen and the team defense to contain him, a super quick pg that will give cleveland's bigger guards fits, a superior coach, and the best big man in the world.
That said, Cleveland did win the two regular season matchups, but I think it would be different in the playoffs and see SA winning in 5.......if it happens
I'm not gonna look past Detroit right now. For me, this has been the creme de la creme of series' . Everyone has their opinions and the West has been giant this year. This series between the Cavs and Pistons should be example enough that anything can happen and will. That and the Dallas elimination.
LeBron was looking waaaaaay tired at the end of it all. Hughes is hurtin'. Pavlovic is cold. There are alot of things gonna go down yet between here and the championship. But it feels good bein' on the up side of the series with such pressure on the Pistons.

Lebrons better then a young Jordan ever dreamed of being^. At this rate Lebron really may end up the best player to play the game. I also agree that no matter who wins this series they arent gonna be able to beat the spurs in a best of 7 series, its just a bad matchup. I'd feel confident with The Cavs over dallas or phoenix, but they just dont match up well against The Spurs.

Easy now. I'm no Jordan fan, but lets compare a little bit here. Jordan was hurt when he was 22-23, but the next season (his 3rd compared to Lebron's 4th) these were his numbers.
You can argue that Lebron is better because he led his team further in the playoffs at this point, but those Bulls teams were terrible and Lebron has had the luxury of added nba experience. Regardless, to say Lebron's better than a young Jordan ever dreamed of is absolutely ludicrous and adds to the hyperbole for nba superstars that makes the nba what it is today. And that's not a good thing.

I dont measure it by stats, i measure it by how far they can carry his team, and right now, Lebron is doing a better job then Jordan, all around. If the Cavs reach the finals i'd have to say they're the worse team to make the finals that i can remember, and this is comming from a Cavs fan and Cleveland native. Theres really just not much other then Lebron. Jordan didn't win anything until he had 2 potential HOF'ers on his team. At this age i think Lebron is a better winner then Jordan was. Jordan was more competitive, but obviously Lebron is just more physically gifted, which is why its really not even fair to compare them. People should be comparing Lebron to Magic Johnson, not Michael Jordan. And Lebrons definately not on Magic's level yet.
The game I would look at in Jordan's career that compares favorably to this one is Jordan's 61 point game in Boston. There were no HOF players on that team and he did it against one of the greatest teams to ever take the floor in the old Boston Garden.
That being said this Bulls fan was really impressed by Lebron last night. The kid has grown up in this series. Kobe better be glad he got his rings early.
quoting the dead to illustrate the strength of the eastern conference is an offens punishable by death. the spurs are gonna sweep the east and i dont want that type of loserism associated with the dead ;D
First of all, YOUR turncoat ass reppin' for the Dead, while bailin' on yer team AND conference-You oughta be stripped of your right to be a Piston "fan". This is about good basketball, and most would have said and did say that the cavs would be swept by the Pistons. Cavs took care of the Spurs in the regular season. And it may be a mountain to climb, but unlike you, Dude, they won't give up.
As far as Ziggy's comment mirroring most everyone else's, Lebron is a force. He is an offensive giant. But to dismiss the rest of the starters and bench, who have all brought the team to where it is, is a crime. THEY have been the ones allowing LeBron to sit for a good deal of the second quarter. Defense has been key-look at the scores. Turnovers, boards, etc. Pistons had huge scoring capability prior to this series. It has been shut down. LeBron helped, but it is team defense and hustle that has got us here. LeBron has helped put us over the top. We are not a team of superstars-granted. But we have demonstrated the ability to "rise up" to each challenge at hand. Here's to the next one !
As to LeBron being better than Jordan, this one's for you Dude...

"Well, well, well.....You can never tell..."
;D lol nice one.
and i do love my pistons(most of them). but in reality they cant beat the spurs. and neither can the cavs. i think there were atleast 3 teams in the west that could beat any eastern conference team. possible 4 or 5. i wish i would have come to this realization before i made that damn bet but my piston fan logic took over my decision making process during the early stages of that chicago series. i shoulda known better!!!

I'm not saying that Lebron has done it himself snoochi, just that he is that team. Without Lebron they'd be one of the worst teams in the east, possibly the worst. I still believe that if the Cavs make it to the finals it will be one of the worse teams in recent history, which is just a testament to Lebron.
Hell, without LeBron, they could probably afford NJ's top three. Or perhaps the Bulls top two.
Without LeBron, we'd be solid. We are a fairly young team as well.
The real issue is IF we can hold on to LeBron long enough for the rest of the team to mature OR 'tli we can get a qualiity point guard. Couple that with some more playoff experience and we';; be a force. Like to see 'em seal a trip to the champeenship here tonight, though. If they can whooop on Detroit, I really don't even care what happens against the West. OK maybe a little.
im to the point where im not that intereseted. im watching the game with no volume and am way more interested in the live feed from mountain jam. tlg is good stuff! damn i wish i was at mountain jam!!!!!! but a pistons victory will ease my pain a tiny bit

They dont need a point guard other then Gibson, who is their future at pg, they need someone who can take the scoring pressure off Lebron so he cant constantly be double and triple teamed. Too bad they let Boozer go.

Perhaps Booby Gibson IS our man eh ? Not too fn bad for a rookie.

He has the skills, but i don't think he's physically there yet to be a consistent scoring threat. He can definitely develop into one, and if he does I think we'd have a very good shot of taking it all.

Cleveland's supporting cast is much better than the early Bulls. Regardless, by Jordan's third full season he lost to Detroit in the conference semifinals, in his forth and fifth he lost to the Pistons in the conference finals. In his sixth they won it all.
By Comparison, by Lebron's third full season he lost to Detroit in the conference semifinals, in his forth they beat the Pistons in the conference finals. To me, the only difference between the two is that Jordan played the Pistons in the peak of the Bad Boy dynasty, while Lebron played them at the tail end of their current era.
In my opinion making it one round further, but averaging 10 points less a game and having substantially less of an impact on the defensive end, in no way warrants your 'better that he dreamed of' comment. Although since you didn't actually see Jordan play at the time, being a toddler and all, I'll forgive your ignorance
Yeah, Lebron is definitely more in the mold of Magic, just more of a scorer and less of a playmaker obviously.
