damnit...don't think a neutral court would have made that much difference...unc is just too fast and too unstoppable...still, I'll take an elite eight year over an nit final four year any day...
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."
Derrick Rose will be drafted before DJ Augustin, and rightfully so I think, he is really outplaying him in this game.
The thing is, even if he weren't, he would go higher than Augustin based on size alone. But Rose is probably going to be a mediocre NBA player while Augustin could be productive if he stays in school another year and gets stronger.
Rose= Jamal Crawford.
Memphis simply doesn't produce good pros. It's a school that recruits really athletic kids with not a lot of discipline on or off the court.
Texas just let the game get away from them today. Not a lot of good decision making going on. They let Memphis play a transition game, and Texas didn't show the patience they needed to in order to dictate a good half court pace. Combine that with the refs not calling anything either way, and Texas just got overwhelmed by Memphis size and speed.
Reminds me a lot of the Texas A&M game earlier this year. They just let Memphis push them around early on and then responded by trying to push the pace which just made things worse.

Memphis 85/Texas 67...there's some broken horns in Houston today! Yea baby! Dude-I think you are wrong about Derrick...this boy is the REAL DEAL. CDR ain't too shabby either, but I hope we have him for another year before he gets eaten by the NBA.

I was rootin' for ya! UNC is just tough, nice run by your guys though!
Davidson's saving this tournament from being utterly unwatchable.

Sorry. I don't buy it. I've seen Memphis players at the next level, and they just don't have the discipline to do what you need to do to develop.
Rose is a project point. He's not readymade. He's not a particularly great playmaker. He doesn't have great court vision. There are about at least a dozen off guards in the league right now who would probably do a better job running an NBA offense next year than Rose.
In a normal year, I think Rose would probably be a 5-10 pick. I think someone will reach for him in the top 5 because it's a weak draft year. I think he needs the right situation to succeed. Miami would actually be ideal, where Wade could take the pressure off of Rose in running the offense. Ron Harper is actually an ideal kind of player for Rose to model himself after. But I'm afraid, he reminds me more of another Memphis grad, Dajuan Wagner...
can anyone besides stephen curry score for davidson. he went stone cold the last 5 minutes up to this point and they don't do anything but look to get him the ball. i know he got them this far but he's been shooting airballs and has 2 or 3 defenders on him at a time.
Good game. Kind of a lame ending, but Davidson really showed something this tourney, unlike the 2 & 3 seeds.
Hopefully the Final Four will live up the hype because the rest of the tournament has been a 4 out of 10 in the entertainment value. Really, can anyone remember a worse, less entertaining tournament?
that was bullshit. 3 davidson players stood on the baseline and didnt move. i know he carried the team but they were only down two and he was double teamed.
this has been a crappy tournament. upsets are nice the first round but after that they suck. the sweet 16 and elite games were blowouts. not the davidson game but they just mentally fizzled out in the end.
My hats off to Davidson. Stephen Curry is some sort of animal, but he has a cockiness that I don't like. He's like Reggie Miller. He can shoot the lights out and he looks like he's 12.
yeah. he definately carried them into the elite 8 but he took so many bad shots this game. it seemed like it was him or noone scoring and when he had the ball noone moved. he can definately shoot but kansas finally did what the other teams didn't: double team him and force others to make plays. its just frustrating cause they were only down 2 and clearly only played to win the game with the three. kansas knew what was coming. if you see highlights watch the three davidson players on the baseline just watching. one finally circled out to take a ridiculous shot with the clock running out.
Hey, at least we were in there kicking. No one expected us to beat the teams we did beat. It just didn't work out for us. Long drive home from Davidson, for me. But worth it, to watch the game from there.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**

so glad memphis is still kickin!
if we can beat UCLA (we can do it!) we have a real chance to beat UNC/KU
I definitely think Memphis matches better against those two teams, but I don't see them getting past UCLA. I acartainly hope they dont, because that wouldn't help me win our group.

they played well don't get me wrong and definately deserved to be in the game. the final play was just a little frustrating.

No doubt. Believe me. And I can guarantee you no one feels that more personally than McKillop. But inside of a week, three more teams will experience what we've been through. There's only one winner. For now, we're just trying to feel good about being one of the last ones out.
I have UCLA as the winner in my brackets. Not as likely as I thought, now. And my heart says to cheer for Kansas. I'd like to think we were beaten by the best! But all in all, I think UNC will eventually take it.
