I never understood why people stand a long time in lines for beer.
I'm guilty of this myself, as for a while it was the only way to get Tree House. I like Julius, but do I wanna spend an hour just standing there to get it?
Its the community aspect. I have a friend that’s gotten really into the craft beer scene. It’s not so much about the beer as it’s about catching up and sharing something with each other.
"Dragons & YumYums is an intensely tropical - yet subtlety bitter - pale ale brewed with a combination of dragonfruit, yumberry, passionfruit, pear juice and black carrot juice. Clocking in at 6.5% ABV and 25 IBU, Dragons & YumYums is a first-of-its-kind beer and vinyl collaboration with American rock icons, The Flaming Lips."
I dropped $125 at Tree House on at least 4 cans of everything they had in stock (http://treehousebrew.com/beers/)
IPA: Green, Alter Ego DIPA: Haze, Bright (with Nelson) Milk Stout: That's What She Said
Things I Tried on Draft: APA: Tornado DIPA: Hurricane German-style Pilsner: Trail Magic Coffee Stout: Single Shot (with Burundi Jean Clement)
Trail Magic and Tornado were good. Hurricane was very good. Single Shot, Haze and Alter Ego are all excellent. Haven't had a Bright or a Green or a TWSS yet.
Then went to Armsby Abbey in Worcester, which is regarded as one of the great beer bars in New England (http://armsbyabbey.com/draftbottles/), where I had an incredible burger and a good charcuterie and meat plate and had some or all of:
Hill Farmstead's Susan (IPA) Brasserie Thiriez' Blonde (Saison) Hill Farmstead's Grassroots Brother Soigne (tart Saison) Hill Farmstead's Arthur (Saison) Mahr's Hell (Helles)

Texas Ale Project’s The Caucasian is becoming my go to whenever I see it anywhere. It’s an American Double White Russian Imperial Stout and I love the vanilla flavor to it.

Is it one of these “new” white/gold stouts? I’ve had one or two of those and it just doesn’t not compute that I’m drinkin’ a “stout” and yet it looks like a standard lager/IPA.
Final had some great stuff from Faunta Flora in western NC. Seriously tasty.
And I snagged a can from Mikeller (maybe a combo) that’s a maple and coffee imperial stout. I cannot wait to dive into it!
Also Funky Buddha should finally be seein’ NC distro this week or next and that means I finally get more Maple, Bacon, Coffee Porter that I looovvveee!
Night Shift, which is one of my favorite breweries in Mass., is coming out with a light lager this year. Something with the ABV and calorie count of a Bud Light, but supposedly without the piss taste. I'd be curious to try it.

I'm not really sure why there's this huge press push about Nite Lite this week

They've been making it for like 2+ years already
My guess is now it'll have much higher production and distribution. I don't ever recall seeing it in cans before.

Went to the craft shop were they were doing a release of New Belgium’s hemp ale. The whole bar smelled like someone had lit a joint just from the aroma of the pours.

That’s what I’ve heard ‘bout it. My bar should be tappin’ it in like two weeks.

420 is where it’s at! Probably wouldn’t have tried it otherwise. Your comment makes me proud if my city’s craft brew scene.

The wife and I double date with one of her close friends from work and her husband. Dude works at Sierra Nevada, and he's not much of a beer drinker.
He gave us a behind the scenes tour last night and sent me home with 24 free beers. If you're into the oktoberfest style, I would recommend giving it a go.
Cracked open a bottle of Allagash Dubbel that's been sitting in my basement since 2014 (I think, it might be 2013). This might not be my greatest of ideas to drink it.
Now: Revival Apr 21: The Alchemist Apr 28: Tree House May 5: Bissell Brothers Mid May something: Cigar City
I may be broke a month from now. And full of good beer.
I ended up going to Alchemist and Cigar City on that timeline. Tree House wasn't until early July. Bissell Brothers still hasn't happened yet, and I haven't been in Maine in over four years.
abagofit blew the whistle on Trillium. Paste picked up the story, then the Boston Globe.
I only went there a couple of times, so it's not a huge loss for me. It seemed far too much $$$ considering it's rivals. $20 at Trillium is $16 at Tree House or ~$13 from places like Night Shift and Bog Iron.

Some Bostonians brought up Trillium at a craft pub I frequent yesterday and it raised the purveyor's eyebrows. He was trying to talk them into smuggling some back. Must be good stuff. I hear they specialize in IPAs and Sours and the line for the place can be insanely long. Maybe that last part is just legend.

I haven't been in a very long line at Trillium, but I go to the suburban (Canton) location at off hours. Tree House, which is an hour west of Boston, is more notable for having hour plus lines.
