I don’t really drink IPAs though. For ales I like American blonde and brown styles and some German ones but I don’t have a big taste for IPAs. I’m not going to turn it down though, and it was good. FWIW the wine hadn’t turned so that’s a plus. Very good. Vive France.

NOLA Brewery is putting out some quality crafts. Last time I remember walking back to a hotel in New Orleans from a convenience store with a 6 pack of Dixie, an older gentleman in a white seersucker suit stopped me and proclaimed, "That's mah beeeer!"

And that New Belgium Hemperor! I went to a 4/20 tap release and thought someone had lit up a joint. It was a quality beer though. Maybe it was just the atmosphere, but I enjoyed it.

NOLA is money. Tons of new shit to try out if you come down for Jazz Fest or any other time soon. I’ll post some of the links when I get a chance.
abagofit blew the whistle on Trillium. Paste picked up the story, then the Boston Globe.
I only went there a couple of times, so it's not a huge loss for me. It seemed far too much $$$ considering it's rivals. $20 at Trillium is $16 at Tree House or ~$13 from places like Night Shift and Bog Iron.
Yes I did AMA
Or just read the 30 page BA discussion on it. Can't believe it went viral lol. Now every comment on their Facebook and insta is trolling them.
Been tryin’ to clear out some space in my closet as of late! Recently went through bombers of Foothills Sexual Chocolate from this last January, Funky Bhudda Maple Bacon Coffee Porter, FB Save Some Room for Later, FB Last Buffalo in the Park, Ballast Point BA Victory at Sea (2017), and Evil Twin Some People Are Immune to Good Advice Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. All very delicious!
Found my ol’ bottle of BCBS Rare 2015 too! Gonna open that one before the year is up!

Anybody plan on drinkin any beer at Roo? I may take a keto break for the sake of convenience and enjoy some fun food and good libations. My beer options have been pretty much limited to light garbage (Miller, Ultra, Natty, Bud Select, Corona Premier) but I just tried Lagunitas Daytime, and oh my goodness, it actually tastes like a real IPA! Definitely watered down at only 4% alcohol, and not very special, but at 3g carbs it may be my savior! I'd just about given up hope of finding a quality, more flavorful low-carb beer.
Can't wait to see what's available in the Broo tent.

I will defiantly be drinkin’ beer on The Farm! Gonna be tryin’ to cut down after the festival as I really should!
I’m not really impressed with what they’ve announced fer the Broo’ers Tent, but then I haven’t been in years! There used to actually be beer that I couldn’t find locally, but now I can get all but a handful of this stuff where I live.

Yeah, between a couple of local stores that stock nearly everything under the sun, there isn't a whole lot that interests me that I can't get here, or at least there are so many options that I don't need more. But in past years there were always at least one or two brewers at Roo that I wasn't familiar with. I'll be sure to check it out on Thursday and haven't yet bothered to look at who will be there.
I meet some southern friends so I'll be bringing Sun King, 3 Floyds (now in cans yay!), Tin Man and an Elvis grapefruit IPA I discovered last week. Cigar city is available up here now so they are going to change up their stock this year for me. I think there are 4 new breweries to me at Brooers as well.
I’m heading down to Cincinnati for a wedding this weekend. I won’t have time to go to any breweries; however, I’d like to pick up a six pack or two of something local before I leave. Any recommendations?
reminder: don't buy from Founders because they're racist cunts
I had totally forgotten that whole thing and picked up some of their KBS Espresso variation. It is a coffee bomb and I likely will just give the other bottles away.
Gotta make it to my local shop tomorrow as they’re releasin’ one of my favorite local BBA stouts, Drunken Vigils. It used to toe the line of the legal limit of ABV in beer (15% in NC), but I think they toned in down a year or two ago.
And then one of my favorite limited bourbon barrel aged milk stouts (which I generally do no like) is gettin’ released next Saturday!
Learned couple of weeks ago when I was in SF that 21st Amendment stopped selling their very delicious black IPA. Do any of you know any other breweries that produce black IPA?

Disappointing, though I'm not really a big fan anyway and can do without.
New Belgium is off my list now too, at least until there's a little more clarity on where the money goes. They've been acquired by Kirin, who are active in Myanmar and apparently supported the military there when they were committing genocide.
I liked Yuengling, once upon a time. They didn't distribute to Ohio until a few years ago, and before that it was a special treat when someone brought Lager back across the state line from PA. Then I found out that Dick Yuengling is anti-union and a Trump supporter. He's had no more of my money since then.
Anyone care to ruin Lindeman's for me? I had my first Framboise Lambic last night, and it was even better than I would have guessed. Not sure why I never tried it before, but it turns out it's right in my wheel house.
'Bout to open a Six Point Puff Puff, so hopefully they're not misogynist puppy-killers or something.

I noticed that! Only had it a couple times but really liked it. Distribution is limited here but I looked for it recently and none of the usual suspects carry it. I didn't know if it was discontinued or just not available locally, but that sucks. A heads up for anything similar would be appreciated.

Thanks for not supporting Yuengling anymore! As a public sector union thug in Pennsylvania myself, he's trying to put me, my colleagues, and my members out of jobs constantly. Yuengling can go f--- off.

I feel your pain. I'm not a union employee myself (the restaurant industry is completely un-unionized in Ohio, and I'd probably be considered exempt anyway), but my parents were both public employees for much of their working careers. My job offers some flexibility but provides weak health insurance with no other benefits, no paid time off, no security or recourse from bullshit termination, and no defined path for cost of living or merit raises. I don't know what we would have done as a family if my parents had not had union representation in an era when healthcare was not considered a human right, and it's a damn shame that so many people suffer now while all three branches of government have worked to weaken unions.
So, yeah, screw Yuengling. I'm largely to blame for my company rolling out their beer chain-wide when it first became available, and now I'm advocating for alternatives (necessarily without being upfront about all of my motives), though it isn't solely my decision. There are enough choices in the beer world that we can avoid shitty companies, or at least some of the shittiest ones.
