Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
The dates are up on the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park site. April 18th & 19th. A friday and Saturday.
If all goes well, this will be my first Wanee. I've been wanting to go the last few years, but now that I am back in Florida I should be able to make it.
It looks like the dates have changed. It will now be April 11th and 12th. It seems Gov't Mule is going to Europe and will be at a true headbangers festival in The Netherlands on the 18th and 19th. Here is the link for the Dutch festival; www.roadburn.com/frames.html
I got an email from Fantasma, the company that runs Wanee and new information on Wanee 2008 will be up around mid to late december. So good news hopefully in the near future.

Like everyone else, I have been trying to get some info on this year's Wanee Fest. After a lot of searching, I've found out the reason for the delay. The ABB forum seems to be the best source of info right now. ==============================================
In case this hasn't already been posted here, Jon Stoll, the founder and president of Fantasma Productions, died over the weekend from the results of a stroke and brain cancer. This was published widely in South Florida newspapers, so I don't think I'm betraying privileged information. In fact, here you go....
"Fantasma founder turned music passion into career _Click-2-Listen_ (http://www.palmbeachpost.com/localnews/content/local_news/epaper/2008/01/1 3/s1c_STOLL_OBIT_0113.htm l#) By _THOM SMITH_ (mailto:thom_smith@pbpost.com) Palm Beach Post Staff Writer Sunday, January 13, 2008 UPDATED: 2:05 a.m. January 13, 2008 Jon Stoll, who turned a teenage love of rock 'n' roll into one of the largest independent promotion and performance companies in the nation, died Saturday at Good Samaritan Medical Center after an extended illness. He was 54. While on vacation in August in Aspen, Colo., Mr. Stoll had a stroke that required surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain. About a month later, he returned to a rehabilitation center in Boynton Beach, but complications, including a brain cancer, resulted in a transfer a few weeks ago to Good Samaritan in West Palm Beach.
According to his son Jesse, Mr. Stoll had good days and bad days, occasionally communicating with family members and medical staffers, but his condition had begun to decline in recent weeks. Tall, brash and usually sporting a full head of hair, Mr. Stoll seemed larger than life. As a 15-year-old student in Mamaroneck, N.Y., he decided to raise money for his school by staging a battle of the bands. He also gained valuable experience working backstage at New York-area theaters, and at 18 he was managing a rock band. While at Bryant College in Smithfield, R.I., he continued to stage shows, and when his parents bought a condominium in Fort Lauderdale, he soon began promoting concerts at South Florida drive-in theaters. "For $3 or $4 you could go see a concert, film, etc.," he said in 1985. "We'd draw 6,000 to 10,000 people." From that sprang Fantasma Productions, which promoted concerts, staged trade shows and published Easy Times, a youth-oriented weekly newspaper. Gradually, the Fantasma empire expanded to Miami and Fort Lauderdale, then throughout Florida, the Southeast and other major venues, including in Las Vegas. Fantasma also was responsible for booking acts for SunFest, Mizner Park Amphitheater in Boca Raton and the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood. Mr. Stoll, however, never forgot his adopted hometown. In 1984 he bought the Carefree Center, a derelict movie theater and bowling alley on South Dixie Highway. He began a foreign film series and brought small concerts into the theater. He opened an art gallery and a small restaurant, and the old bowling alley became Comedy Corner, one of the top venues for live comedy in the nation and a proving ground for budding young comics such as Dan Whitney, alias Larry the Cable Guy. By 1987, Fantasma had grown to 50 employees who booked and managed more than 500 concerts a year. After hurricanes in 2005 damaged the Carefree Center beyond repair, he bought an abandoned church just north of Southern Boulevard, off Parker Avenue, and created The Theatre, another small concert hall. In the mid-'90s, Mr. Stoll was one of the few independent promoters who refused buyout attempts by large corporations, maintaining that it was bad for business and bad for artists. "I just think it's unfortunate that there are less options for artists,'' he told The New York Times in 2006. "If you have no options, then you have to deal with one buyer - and whatever they decide to pay you.'' In 2000, he was named Independent Promoter of the Year at the 12th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards in Las Vegas, and in 2007 he served as president of the National Association of Concert Promoters. He rubbed shoulders with the likes of Frank Sinatra; Liza Minnelli; Sting; Elton John; Bruce Springsteen; Kris Kristofferson; Willie Nelson; Crosby, Stills and Nash; the Red Hot Chili Peppers; and Faith Hill. He was never happier than with family and friends. Shortly before his stroke, he drove his three younger children, ages 12, 8 and 4, in a motor home from Palm Beach to Las Vegas. "We had a ball," he said. "The kids loved it. I did, too!" Survivors include his wife, Lori, and his adult children, Jesse and Lauren, from his first marriage. He also is survived by three children from his marriage to Lori - L.J., 12; Jack, 8; and Liana, 4. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Temple Israel, 1901 N. Flagler Drive, West Palm Beach. Arrangements are being handled by Menorah Gardens."
Now think about it for a second--Having your founder and president get gravely ill, then pass away, is going to throw a monkey wrench into the works of any event. For those of you who have seen the Wanee DVD, Jon is featured as one of the major movers and shakers of the festival. This is almost certainly the reason the Wanee announcement is running late.
However, one of my contacts at Wanee assures me that Wanee will go on "because that is the way Jon would have wanted it," or words to that effect.
So like I said, hang in there! ============================================================================== ===========================
Did anyone hear Ratdog as a possibility? It's in that huge Wanee thread over on hittintheweb. I might trek it solo from Ohio if I can't find any takers.
I bet the Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule, The Derrick Trucks Band, Otiel And The Peacemakers will all be there. Maybe Honeytribe and Susan Tedeschi. But really I see Ratdog as a real possibility and a good choice.
Well considering it is the Allman Brothers Band's festival, you are probably going to see ABB, Derek Trucks Band, Gov't Mule, Oteil and the Peacemakers, Honeytribe, and Bonobos Convergence.
That leaves about 10-11 bands left. It would be real cool if Fantasma brought in all new faces to Live Oak.

Yeah, last year was just my 2nd camping fest, after 06 Roo. I liked it so much, I went back for MagFest and Bear Creek, and plan to try for SpringFest this year as well.

How was Bear Creek? I wanted to go since I only live about 40 miles from Live Oak, but I did not have the cash.

It was fun. I volunteered with the Work Exchange Team and worked all day Thursday helping set up the 2 main stages and equipment. There were a lot of good bands and the weather was much better than Roo the last 2 years. S.O.T.S. is always a good time. I just found out I've been accepted for The Langerado W.E. Team, so that and Wanee will be nice warm-ups for this year's Roo. ;D
Got an email from Fantasma today. Bob Weir and Ratdog and moe. will be at Wanee this year.
As if ABB, Mule, and DTB weren't enough. Throw in Keller, cause you know he'll be there too, and we've got ourselves a festie. I really hope I can take that weekend off this year. It really helps that Easter comes a few weeks earlier this year
