Thats the way to go. Anyone getting down there a day early or so? I know the website says something about the ticket is only good for thursday through Sat. or something but you can calll the park and book another day if you want. Just wondering if anyone is thinking about that? AND is anyone getting a golf cart? thats where the fun is AT!!
It's going to be a last minute decison for me. I REALLY want to go. I just won't know if there is any chance of getting off work until about two weeks before.
All I know is I have been to Wanee once (last year) and absolutely fell in love with the place. Its like a little village or something out in the woods that produces such a great feeling. I got mad love for this place. This year should be interesting with a couple bigger names. I love moe. and definately dig Ratdog, not to mention the givens (ABB, mule, derek and susan), so this year should be even better which I cant even imagine. So yeah, Wanee is definately a cant miss for me. To anyone who has never been, give it a shot, and you too will fall in love with this cozy little hideaway in the backwoods of Florida.
Wanee just filled out, probably a couple more to come:
Wanee Festival 2008 Line-up THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND GOV'T MULE BOB WEIR & RATDOG MOE JJGREY & MOFRO OTEIL & THE PEACEMAKERS SCRAPOMATIC LARRY McCRAY BAND LITTLE BROWN PEACH FREQUENCY INCA MAYA
Special Saturday Midnight Set With Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi Soul Stew Revival
Ahh....worst Wanee Lineup ever. Looks like Mule is only playing one night instead of two....... www.mule.net/news/index.php Mountain Jam gets a badass lineup and Wanee's sucks. I'll still loving hearing the Allman Brothers for two nights and the music park that the festival is held in is great, so i'll probably still go.
Update on the Line-up. According to the Wanee thread on the ABB website, Levon Helm will be at Wanee.
YES!
Sweet I just read this on honest tune!
02/06/2008 Here's the updated Wanee line-up; the festival will take place April 11 and 12 at Spirit of Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida.
The Allman Brothers Band Gov’t Mule Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi's Soul Stew Revival Bob Weir & RatDog moe. Oteil & the Peacemakers Levon Helm JJ Grey & Mofro Larry McCray Band Scrapomatic Bonobos Convergence Little Brown Peach The Frequency Inca Maya
This just went from the worst Wanee to the best! Levon Helm w/ Warren will be nice. You think he'll play a friday late night set on that small 2nd stage..... that'd be the show of the year.
They just added some new acts. Check schedule on the Wanee site. Junior Brown is a must see. I don't know how I missed him at 'Roo. The only disappointment in this line-up is only one show for Gov't Mule. I hope I can go.
Nice find..... George Porter is a beast!! I can't wait for him to jam w/ Mule. PBS is a great band, add that to Levon, ABB, Mule, and Junior Brown....... this lineup went from okay to badass in a couple weeks.
Plus it is with the Sparrow Quartet, even better. Karma sawgrass for your investigative work. Hopefully the entire line-up will be announced tomorrow and hopefully one or two more surprises. If not, then I am still happy that this Wanee will be the best yet.
