I am a bit worried, no Bela on the schedule, but he still has it on his website ???
Dang, no moe. for either one of you guys??
Yea I wonder about Bela also......seems odd that it would be on his website, but not the offical wanee site. And I will definetly pass on the .moe, some people I'm going with love um, but I can't get into um. I like the dither album, but when I saw um live they bored me to tears..... and the greyboy allstars are sick so I'll be seeing them instead.

A friend of mine tried to get me into them by let me listen to Warts and All Vol. 4, but they were just not for me. But I do like how Fantasma is getting a wide variety of bands to play this year.
As for Bela Fleck, I think they will announce him when JamBase announces the entire line-up. You got to remember there is another tier of tickets to go for Wanee.

well i have to recommend seeing moe. live before ya make any calls. they are all about the live show. i never listen to their albums. or anybodies albums for that matter. check em out live and at night. its a whole different thing. i dont listen to moe, umph, crowes, etc... albums at all. i dont enjoy their daytime shows. but gimme a show in the dark and they are 3 of my absolute favorite bands in the world. if you dont have anything better to do id give em a chance. maybe you still wont like it but i assure you its a far different thing when moe. is live at night then the albums. the albums are just kinda boring to me. judging a band like MOE. or any "jam" band off of thier albums is like smoking some brown paraquat shit and then just writing off herb all together cuz it made you cough. its like watching the fear and loathing movie but never having read the book. its like watching star wars episode one and saying "well that sucked, guess i dont need to watch the original trilogy"
this is all my opinion of course. but i highly recommend you give them a try.

The website is updated and organized now with the entire schedule and line-up sans Bela Fleck. Hopefully he will be added to the line-up this month.
OK, I'm back in. (not sure I mentioned it here, but I had decided to skip Wanee, in order to afford Langerado, which I've now had to cancel on, which allows me to return to my original plan to do Wanee, which I was bummed about missing.) ;D ;D ;D
Well sorry southgajd that you had to miss out on Langerado, but at least you get to enjoy Florida's best kept secret. All those people going to Langerado don't know what they are missing in Wanee. Though I would have loved to go to Langerado.

Both great fests, wish Wanee was 3 days instead of 2, I think REM is what I'll miss most that I won't see at another fest, will try to see them somewhere else. We need to get something organized for Inforoo at Wanee.

Southgajd, sorry you'll be missing Langerado. I hope to meet you at Wanee.

I am quite surprised that Jambase has not announced the Wanee line-up yet. Does this mean we are going to be seeing more additions other than Bela Fleck?

Inforoo At Wanee 2008:
chefchick (really hope I can take that weekend off this year)
Chris (this lineup went from okay to badass in a couple weeks.)
dudewheresmyroo??? (judging a band like MOE. or any "jam" band off of thier albums is like smoking some brown paraquat doodie and then just writing off herb all together cuz it made you cough. its like watching the fear and loathing movie but never having read the book. Its like watching star wars episode one and saying "well that sucked, guess i dont need to watch the original trilogy")
easymorningrebel (went last year and had a blast I'd love to go again)
lerxst/dirk/pratt (Hopefully it will be kickass (this) year. )
mojoworks (If all goes well, this will be my first Wanee)
mschro (might trek it solo from Ohio if I can't find any takers)
mulcherries (if its anything like last years.Hell ya!...whatta freakin' line up!)
A meetup would be cool, but cell phone coverage there is spotty and its hard to meetup with people. Not to mention its really easy to get lost in the woods (happen to me both years I went).

Flare guns will be issued, also smoke signals will be utilized since camp fires are allowed.

Definately wont be a problem to snag a ticket.
Meetup wise, I would say that someone needs to commit to bringing some sort of distinct landmark/flag/drape to set/hang up. This is just off the top of my head right now. And also to camp in primitive. In the far back. Give me a couple of minutes and I will post a map. Maybe we can find somewhere better to set up at. Its kind of a free for all there. We're definately not packed in like sardines as Roo. Kinda woodsy in and out feeling if that makes sense. Dont have much time right now. I will get a map up by late tonight or tomorrow to better illustrate.
Lets push this and get a meetup. Someone needs to bring a BUNCH of firewood. Campfires are oh so fun at night. I should be able to get some. I'll check back in soon.
Here is a map of Suwanee Music Park for those who are inquiring.
As for meeting up, thats going to be tricky, but I think having a flag of some sort to acknowledge the campsite will be essential.
I might try and find you guys if you do make a campsite. For me I will have a big group of Valdosta State students with me since our school is less than 50 miles from the park.
It depends. Where I was last year which was in the middle of the bottom left area of the map above and it took about 15-20 minutes to the Mushroom Stage and from the Mushroom to Peach stage, it takes about 5-10 minutes max.
It really does depend on how far out you camp out in primitive camping, but it only takes about 15-20 minutes like he said above. I'm pretty sure it only takes like 2 minutes to get from stage to stage..... they are pretty close to each other. Have ya'll got your tickets in the mail yet, I can't remember exactly when I got um last year, but it seems like I had them by now.

OK, this is not Bonnaroo, there won't be 80 k here, it doesn't take 17 hours to walk from bfe to CenterWanee. I'll bring a climbing tree stand, and hang a flag from the tallest tree in the campgrounds. There will be a hot air balloon on stand-by. If you can't see the flag, fire your flare-gun and the balloon will pick you up in the nearest clearing, or from the nearest tree-top (n case of no clearing withing ten feet.) (This plan is still under development and is subject to change without notice.)
See the only problem with this is that I'll likely be drunk and I see myself shooting down the balloon with the flare gun. And the walk to the stages from the campsite are easy..... its always harder to get back to the campsite after all the shows. I always went the wrong way around the lake and it would take me 17 hours to get back.

:oRight....the flare guns are subject to change...The problem is the ride back from the stages, so maybe the balloon will just be used to drop people off back at camp, easier to spot from the air...meetings should take place at the Mushroom Stage before shows. It would be possible to hang a flag from a tree there, easy to find and plenty of room.
