Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I was 2 days away from buying a rothbury ticket when they announced WSP and Les, the announcement was what I needed to change my mind and decide to go back to Bonnaroo for the first time since 2004. Lineup looks like a blast, I'd prefer Primus than Les but I can deal and Panic is absolutely neccasary fro me to go. Looke very forward to seeing Pearl Jam for the first time and look forward to seeing Metallica for the first time in over 20 years(yeah i'm old). 2003 was my first Bonnaroo and first WSP show and even with georgie WSP hooked me for life with that show. Now kanye west I have no idea who he is or what he 'sings'? I though he was an actor or something, what is he hip hop? I don't get all the negativity really, you all really thought Led Zep was going to be there or Phish? I'd be dissapionted if I thought they were showing and then didn't also but lets be realistic, the Doors won't be there eithere:-)
It's the weekend people, Biglou says go have a beer and chill the hell out, try smiling too. I plan on training to increase my alcohol intake before Bonnaroo. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Well well well...people sure do loose hope and get all negative REALLY fast these days!???? I personally am very happy to see a HUGE number of the bands on the bill! I REALLY wanted to see the Allmans also - but I understand - and it is pretty evident that they will be there within the next two years and kick our asses with a killer performance! Are you negative fun-sponges forgetting about the fact that we still don't know who is in store for the super jam!?!!! None of us thought for a second that who showed up last year would've been what they were cooking up and if you were there it was amazing!!! In case you weren't, about a week before the weekend we were all waiting for...they announced that John Paul Jones, ?uestlove & Ben Harper were doing the super jam...and JPJ played with around 3-5 others the entire weekend! He obviously liked being at Roo. There are many possibilities...and already way more than enough to see....and I bet you all that they still have things up their sleeves to make us freak out!!! They never let us down...just be excited for what we have, be excited for what we don't know about yet...and BE EXCITED FOR BONNAROO!!! There's no place I would rather be, and it's like being home every single year I go!!! I LOVE going to ROO! Lets spread some positive energy please PLEASE! It makes me sad to see so many people complain and forget about the fun! Plus - positive vibes bring special surprises and special times! See y'all at ROO!!!
i think its a striking fact that most of the people defending roo til the end of the earth and taking about the "roo vibe" are living in the past
This coming from a deadhead makes my mind 'splode.
Intelligent discourse is one thing, but despite the name of this thread it IS a Bonnaroo board (and the best one, of course). Let's all try to not make socio-economic assumptions about 30% of anyone, not crap all over anyone's taste, and smoke 'em if ya gott'em.
In my idealized, hippie world, this thread would start with an "I'm disappointed" post and end with, "but it's all gonna be alright" post.
i think its a striking fact that most of the people defending roo til the end of the earth and taking about the "roo vibe" are living in the past
Why do have such a hard time believing that people can have a good time listening o more than just jam bands. You keep talking like Roo has been nothing but riots and aggression since Roo went down to one jam-band headliner. This may come as a shock, but some of us have a blast every year, meet great people and score good stuff even if Panic, Trey and The Dead aren't all headlining. I understand you only want to listen to one kind of music, Dude, and there are plenty of "festies" out there that cater to your myopic view of music. For people who like a variety of great music, there's Bonnaroo.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
Yeah I know!!! What a bunch of idiots! Why couldn't they just add Led Zep?!!? Or AT LEAST Floyd! Sheesh. And no Phish reinion either!
This sucks!
yea I mean its not like Floyd and Led Zeppelin are big bands or anything, what a bunch of assholes for not bringing bands that cost more than a Bonnaroo ticket costs alone.
I agree that they shouldnt have announced that a "big" announcement was coming because it let alot of peoples minds run wild, but you guys should seriously stop whining, I dont get it Ive been wanting to go to this thing for a few years now and I finally have the money, if your going to complain then dont go and dont go on this Bonnaroo forum. Im just about done with this place its filled with people who think they are better than everyone else and think that since they have been to bonnaroo a few times that they know more about music, whatever.
Some of you guys are cool but many of you are acting like 5 year olds whos parents wouldnt take them to get a treat after school. I hope that YOU guys dont ruin the vibes at Roo because ive heard thats alone is worth it but if its filled with people like this im deffinitly questioning it.
anyone remember this thread? at the time, there were considered too many 'crybabies' after the lineup announcement, so the collective consciousness of inforoo decided to create this metaphorical 'concentration camp' where all us undesirable inforooers who needed to spew our hatred and vile thoughts somewhere could go to spare the rest of inforoo the possibility of getting infected with our negativity and ruining their good time.
the writing was on the wall then the same as it is in this thread now. why can't those of us who are unhappy with any number of situations regarding roo this year have a place to discuss our feelings? why do large numbers of hypocrites who claim to not be able to stand 'complainers' come into our threads and then complain themselves about what we're talking about? why is our unhappiness a source of constant fascination for you? why are you unable to let us be?
for those who weren't around or don't remember, dude/keith has never pulled any punches on here when it comes to talking about how he feels. and while i don't have the time to search out old threads from last year to prove my point, many of the most interesting discussions from last year were helped along by him and some others offering dissenting viewpoints that were then actually discussed and debated. he didn't always win everyone over, but he was allowed to speak his mind. now all you guys want to do, while you're not at the point where you're able to be honest about it yet, is to shut him and any others down before any kind of discussion can be had.
whether positive or negative, this used to be an open place where discussion could be had as long as personal attacks and outright disrepect towards others was not taking place. i don't see anyone who is disappointed in this thread making personal attacks or disrespecting others blatantly. do you guys really enjoy reading thread after thread where every other post is a "lol!!" "have some karma!!" "im so excited!!" "i agree!!" "^^this!!" ?? and my personal favorite is when a discussion actually starts to pick up some steam and get going, it gets shut down by people posting something about a cat from a youtube video that was funny for all of 5 minutes a f-cking year ago.
we're all clearly not going to see eye-to-eye on whether a lot of whats going on with 'roo this year is good or bad, but regardless of how YOU feel individually aren't we all free to share our opinions in a considerate manner?
if not, you guys might as well just stop kidding yourselves and amend that 1st sticky post in the 'What' forum so that it reads "Welcome to Inforoo! Dissenting and/or Negative opinions will NOT be tolerated"
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!
^^^Truthfully Adam - if you feel that way - then why do you keep coming back? For the same reason the rest of us do - and I don't think anyway wants to shut ya'll down or anything but I know I am tired of the negative attitude about Bonnaroo from some people - everyone is entitled to speak their minds and such - but.....
ya know - never mind - this is just not worth it - you and I could argue all day about it and neither of us would be right and neither of us would be wrong. I am on Inforoo because I am going to Bonnaroo thanks to the generosity of certain people on Inforoo - I can't wait to see all my friends again, see some great music - learn about some bands I didn't know and feel the magic that is Bonnaroo.
And neither you nor Keith can take that from me no matter how much negativity you spew or how much moaning and groing you do saying that superfly has sold out or that there are other festivals that are better - I choose Bonnaroo this year and I am going to make the most of it.

This post right here is why Superfly did this.
I understand people who are disappointed, but you have to understand that this is a business, and many many people were on the fence b/c of Jack Johnson headlining and no WSP.
Like it or not, this announcement is good for at least 5,000 tickets, maybe even 10,000, just because Widespread Panic sells so many tickets in the south.
Will you sell the ticket you bought just because Panic is replacing Jack Johnson? Some of you may, but ultimately, Superfly doesn't care about that because that ticket has already been sold.
What they need to do now is sell tickets they haven't sold yet. They need to put the push on to sell the last 15,000-25,000 in the final 2 months before the festival. Their fanbase is majority southeast, and majority of southeasterners who are also Bonnaroo attendees listen to and see Widespread Panic.
It's simple economics folks. I wanted Led Zeppelin too, but what are you gonna do? As much as I am over seeing Panic at Bonnaroo, and I've seen them every time they've played there, I do have to admit, Metallica>Pearl Jam>Widespread Panic is probably the most rocking it has ever been at the top of the bill.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I agree with him. It especially seems like whenever someone expresses dislike for someone's favorite band, they end up being shouted down and told to leave the thread, or - gasp - smited. Doesn't anyone remember the big glowstick argument from last year (and the year before)? Stuff like that isn't even allowed to happen anymore. I'm alright with the Corncat thing, but that was used to stop a thread that had gotten very ugly, and semi-personal.
And to clue you in on how pointless the karma system is, dude/Keith has 460 karma. I remember when he had -150. It's just a number.

wow it has gotten so bad....... WE TOLD YA SOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (for years.... can all you not-sees see the path to mainstream now? youve missed all the signs along the way but now WE HAVE ARRIVED!!!!)
who woulda thought that in 02 that 6 years later metallica, pearljam, and kanye west fans would be running rampant talking sh!t about wsp and all those boring jambands. talking about roo vs. coachella and lolla. its sad. if they had announced the 08 lineup at the 02 fest roo woulda gone under because no one would have forked over the millions of dollars for them to create this bastard' roo. everyone would have quit going. its disgusting. it sucks and its why i dont post much around here anymore. the vibe here has been dragged to the same place as the vibe at roo. over run by kids and asshats. i swore id go to every roo they would ever have after my first. but it just isnt roo. 95 percent of you just dont get what its all about. i guess thats what happens when the lineup becomes some coachella euro fest sh!tshow with a couple of decent acts sprinkled in. its all about the money! i know no one who can even talk about roo with a straight face anymore. the only festie people who go anymore are yellin rolls and doses all day. its an amateur fest for custies and yuppies... its sad... i will go back to lurking and whatnot cuz i dont need to Ann Coulter all the time. but it is hard to sit around and listen to the new roo fans blast what used to be such a magical and positive weekend. what a waste of such a magical event.
i guess kill em all will be the slogan for roo this year. but i guess it fits..
This is nothing more than attempt to say "I told you so!" and spew hateful, spiteful nonsense by a person who has chosen to not attend Bonnaroo this year. It is idiotic nonsense about how the scene isn't the same 80,000 peace loving Hippies from 2002, written by a person who didn't go to Bonnaroo 2002. I was at Bonnaroo 2002, and can tell you, for a fact, it wasn't 80,000 dreadlocked patchwork deadheads back then, and it isn't now. This stuff doesn't belong on the board, because it is nothing more than an attempt to incite people to an argument.
If you can express yourself without crapping all over everyone who wants to, or doesn't want to go to Roo- please do it. I don't see all of this in such black and white terms and I've been both pleased and disappointed with some Roo decisions- and I've expressed it- but what gets me riled up is when people start passing judgement on whole swaths of people and directly insinuates that we shouldn't be happy or that we're somehow fooling ourselves.
if not, you guys might as well just stop kidding yourselves and amend that 1st sticky post in the 'What' forum so that it reads "Welcome to Inforoo! Dissenting and/or Negative opinions will NOT be tolerated"
I believe the correct phraseology is: "You're bringing me down man, don't ruin my buzz."
Negative opinions are tolerated, but constant b_tching can get annoying. We're trying to get high on Roo here and somebody keeps shouting in our ear. That's fine for the first few shouts, but after awhile you're getting more redfaced and we're getting less high. What do you want to do, take your flyer/literature? Complete a survey? Sign up for your newsletter? Hey whatever if you just promise to stop. Is there a do-not-call list I can sign up for?
Let's change the name from InfoRoo to FreeForAllDiscussionRoo so people don't mistake this place for an informative forum. ...just kidding...
i hear you guys. whatever my feelings on dude/keith are, his posts could stand to show a little more consideration and a little less button-pushing.
i'm not as much defending his opinion as i am his right and ability to post said opinion in a thread that should be pretty obvious is not going to be a roses-and-candy thread of optimism based on its title.
i just wish people would debate him on other points other than that he's being a negative nancy. and i wish people around here would realize that sometimes when it happens in the right fashion, a little conflict is extremely healthy for us all as a whole. constant agreement on everything really accomplishes very little, imho.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

I agree. Although one could argue that Bonnaroo is about everyone agreeing to have a good time, free of the world's divisiveness.
I think you may be preaching to a choir who is pretty tired of discussing most of dude/keith's points. Some of us have literally been doing it for years, and most of the points haven't changed. And some of of us have even been scolded by moderators in the past because we didn't just ignore him.
i just wish people would debate him on other points other than that he's being a negative nancy.
Trust me, I have been doing just that since my first post on this board. I came here to stick up for my favorite fest in the face of bullshit-spewing hippies like Dude who insist it can't be anything but sh!t unless hippies and only hippies are enjoying it. It's not just negative, its the elitist bullsh!t that has made me come to hate hippies in the first place, and it has done more to ruin Bonnaroo (and this forum) than any metal or hip-hop act ever will. But for some reason he's still here talking sh!t and as long as he is, I will be here to call him on it.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
if wsp is really so offensive to your musical sensibilities, perhaps bonnaroo is the wrong festival for you? along with les, trey, and warren, nobody has done more for the roo than wsp. maybe it ain't your cup of tea, but again, THIS is bonnaroo.
people should respect those who built the festival from the ground up, back when the roo wasn't such a trendy event.

Just curious here...
Why can't people who don't want to read anything negative about Bonnaroo this year, not come into this 1 (ONE) Single thread that was started to share some upset and hurt over the disappointment of the "Big" announcement? If you want to bitch and let out some emotion, which is psychologically necessary to "get over" something that you attach yourself to emotionally on a very deep level, why not come into this segregated part of the board, the part labeled "Disappointed" and vent? The rest of the board or other threads can be used to Hype us up after we've let off some steam.
I for one, LOVE to vent and let off some steam, and am very disappointed in the anouncement of the announcement. However, I am still really excited about Bonnaroo this year. Can't wait to be close for Pearl Jam.

Sorry to cherrypick your post Dude, but there were a few things here that kinda insulted me...
WE TOLD YA SOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me? ??? Told me what? Roo is my TOP choice for Summer fun this year... something wrong with me?
over run by kids and asshats.
I'm far from a kid, and I like to think I'm not an asshat I just like music... pretty much ALL music, and since getting in the car alone in 2006 and driving 900 miles to ??? ... well, I have yet to see a competing lineup that is diverse as I am see myself. Metallica? Sure. The Dead? Sure. just about everything in between, and many things way outside of both of those? Absolutely!
i swore id go to every roo they would ever have after my first.
Me too... and will I? If they continue to expand and always make sure to include pieces of each and everything that makes music so beloved to me... extreme diversity... then yeah, I'll keep going back. I'm just happy I have the choice to... and imo, because of Roo, well, the choices out there each year since, well they've gone off the charts, no? There's a whole world out there, FULL of great choices to make, and everyone gets to choose the things that fit who they are.
95 percent of you just dont get what its all about.
I resent being told what i do or do not "get." I am a responsible human being who does the things that make me happy. What's there to get? Another thing about Roo that i like? The more that they diversify, the more diverse the crowd is going to get. That makes me happy. Nothing better than meeting people unlike those i usually meet. To me, that's exciting and fun. i hope that doesn't make me an asshat.
its an amateur fest for custies and yuppies
Well ... I have no clue what a custie is, so i guess i could be one... but a yuppie? Now THAT makes meLOL! Can always use a good laugh, so thanks for that.
what used to be such a magical and positive weekend. what a waste of such a magical event.
Well, I'm pretty sure everyone who goes is going because they want to have a good time with music and friends and a little break from the routine of their everyday life... maybe I've only been twice, but so far, that's the ONLY thing I've really gotten from the vibe... a bunch of people who are there to have fun enjoying what they know they love, while discovering new things they had no idea they were going to love even more. If that's not a recipe for magic, well, then i guess I don't know what magic is. I sincerely hope by my continuing to want to go each year... well, am I ruining Roo? My best friend Paul who has never been to a festy before... he couldn't be more PUMPED for Roo 2008... then he came here, and instantly became concerned that HE was gonna be a part of what is "ruining" things ... and I'm ashamed to say I told him to stay away from here... Bonnaroo to me is all DIFFERENT kinds of people listening to all different kinds of music together, and, really, I don't think I've ever noticed anyone at Roo who didn't have a smile on thier face because they were there... probably because it was their choice to go, and in their head, they thought they had made a good one.
Keith, i had fun meeting you at Rado, and I may have fun meeting you again at AllGood, if my schedule works out. You are a great guy... but at Bonnaroo, I think I'm gonna have fun NOT meeting you. I hope you don't mind. We all choose our good times... you have yours, and I have mine. It's nice when they meet in the middle, but it's also nice when they don't. The beauty of humanity is that we are all truly unique. It'd be pretty boring if we weren't, i think.
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

People, I'm gonna break this down for you.
Music is a form of entertainment. Everybody doesn't have to like the same thing. If pepole like different music than you like, you should not feel threatened. If you like different music than they like, it doesn't mean that your tastes are superior and that you're better, cooler, hipper, or whatever.
If a radio station plays music you don't like, do you yell at the radio? Do you scream about how people who like that kind of music are inferior to you? Or do you change the station? It should be the same way if you're unhappy with the acts at a festival. If you don't like them, don't go.
For my money, AC/Superfly puts on a great festival, with top-quality acts in an array of different styles. I don't like all the acts. I don't like all the headliners. I don't like everyone I meet there. But this year will be 4 in a row and I have never failed to have a wonderful time.

I wanted to chime in here.
Look at all the major festivals WSP is headlining this year.... There is a reason for that. People like WSP and want to see them. They sell tickets and play great LIVE.
TN is in the south = WSP has a huge following in the south.
I respect people not liking WSP but the festival is for ALL different kinds of music and the plain fact is that the people posting here are a small majority of people who do not like WSP.
I am not a fan of Metallica, but guess what??? I don't have to go watch them either.
Quit your whining. Oh and smite me please. Love you - mean it.
well first of all let me start by saying that my post that has been dissected was not meant to be the decisive explanation of my view. it was directed at about a dozen of people that wanna spew nonsense and negativity against wsp and what roo was all about. it wasnt directed at everyone in the friggin univerese. xiphods post was right on. im all for the goofy silly excitement and positivity that flows around here. (actually it irritates me... but i get it) but why cant you stay out of the couple of threads that we want to vent some negativity about the progression roo has taken? now if we came into the "roo is so great" thread and started up then i could see your point. if i went into the "metallica is sick bro" and talked poop about metallica then again i could see some outrage. but this is a clearly labeled thread.... just stay the hell away from it if ya cant stand some points of views that might not be the same as yours. so some of its negative. is everyone who spews negativity about our president and his war horrible americans? do i come in and Ann Coulter and call you negative whiners about negativity regarding our commander in chief who speaks to god regularly. nope. but i know thats not as serious as roo.
and lord. i certainly didnt mean to imply that i told you anything. there has been a long time back and forth between about a dozen or so people. it was for them and the new rooers talking about wsp and boring jambands. and truthfully alot of my more negative posts are directed towards a couple of people that while i like, often irritate me (2-way ST. for sure), and that irritation added to the irritation of my ride to 4/20 at the ledges bailing resulted in an unnecessary post. as for the kids and asshats its not hard to tell that its whats happened. i also thought it wouldnt be hard to tell that i wasnt refering to you or any longtime rooers/inforooers or festival goers. it was again directed at the group of new rooers/inforooers bashing wsp and all those boring jam bands that are responsible for there even being a roo or any fest. being over ran implys a new thing. the crowd at roo from the begginning til the present seems to have gravitated toward teens and metallica/police/tool/pj fans which have a much higher percentage of asshats and problems then old deadheads. (please lets not have the fan bashing argument, you all know what im talking about) it just the way it is. its undeniable. whether or not you like it is a personal decision. but it is what happened. and again the 95 percent was directed directly at newroo. im guessing this year very few rooers are going to anyother fest outside of lolla and such. and they are in here bad mouthing the scene that they are new to, pushing there way through crowds all rowdy like, leaving thier poop everywhere at the stage and the campground, etc.... so id say my estimate is about right. imo 95% of rooers dont have a clue what "IT" is all about. you sir are certainly in the 5 percent so i wouldnt worry about it. i also enjoyed meeting you at rado. i hope all good works out. although i hear its just a bunch of boring jam bands. we will just have to attempt to make the best of a boring situation i guess. ;D
i think everyone needs to realize that if you come into a thread that you haven posted in, and some newbie kids are badmouthing wsp and jam and i run my mouth its almost a certain that none of it is directed at you. and it should also be noted that when people run their mouth i tend to do the same. im not trying to layout my exact thoughts on everything in the universe so they can be picked through and portrayed as my final thoughts on life.
also if your a superhero who has to seek out every dissenting/negative point of view... no matter how valid... and rain down upon it with positivity and corn then please try to avoid the "im really disappointed thread" i know its hard to ignore the super hero senses alerting you to its presence but it would avoid alot of the b.s. personal bickering if you just looked past a couple of clearly labled threads. isnt there a corncat karma tree thread that could use more attention? id rather bicker/debate about issues at roo or whatever rather then the same positivity superhero bullhonkey.
i keep coming to inforoo because i enjoy it. i enjoy some of the people. i enjoy the wealth of festival and music info. and, yes, i do enjoy the occasional heated debate on whatever subject may be at hand when the mood strikes. alot of you take things way too seriously. and i think you have the impression that myself and others are taking ourselves seriously, which couldnt be further from the truth in my case anyhow. although i wasnt around much at the time, it seems like this little superheros of positivity club, along with a cop who wants to yak about corn all the time and who very nicely fits who i was referring to as asshats, has already cost us a couple good inforooers.

the crowd at roo from the begginning til the present seems to have gravitated toward teens and metallica/police/tool/pj fans which have a much higher percentage of asshats and problems then old deadheads. (please lets not have the fan bashing argument, you all know what im talking about) it just the way it is. its undeniable.
There you go again with your half-assed opinions being presented as some "undeniable" fact. as someone pointed out, you were not at Roo 2002. Your contention that it was a litter-free love fest with no shoving, no animosity, no bunk merch, no "commercial" music and no intention of making a handome profit is a fantasy. Your "undeniable" contention that fans of music you don't like are more inclined to be assh*les than fans of music you do like is the kind of bullsh!t circular argument that is f@cking up this forum.
You are the one who doesn't "get it" about bonnaroo. It was never supposed to be a jamband fest. It was, is, and has always been about GOOD music of all kinds, and if you don't believe me go back and watch the 2002 DVD and hear Ashley Capps and Superfly talk about how diversity in music is at the crux of what Bonnaroo is "all about."
It's not WSP or Jam Bands I have a problem w/ at Bonnaroo (If I had a problem w/ Panic at Roo I wouldn't have gone every year), It's your facist attitude that there's only one kind of music acceptable for having a good time.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I just love how "teens" are the ones (still?) following metallica, police, tool and pearl jam. Four bands that range from 16-30 years old themselves, still attracting the kiddies! 13 year olds burning copies of High School the Musical and retro-fitting cassette players into their older brother's Kia's so they can hear Synchronicity... Hannah Montana playing to an empty club while Tool enjoys Nickelodeon success...

I just wish people wouldn't be so sensitive here. Has anything Dude said conflicted with anyone's worldview so severely that they have trouble sleeping at night? I mean, how much does what someone on the internet says on a message board matter to you? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and you all have the right to disagree with him as vehemently as you want, but it seems like a lot of the time people get very personally involved in being angry with what people are saying, and that's what bothers me.
I haven't been right there with you, but I know from all the first-hand accounts I've read that Keith is at the very least a decent guy when you actually get with him at the festival. With that in mind, does it really matter that much what he puts on a message board? This isn't real life, this is the internet. We're passing the time here until we actually get to Roo.
Sure, dude/Keith hasn't ever been known for having the most well-thought-out posts, but it's entertaining to me to at least read his opinion. I don't take what he says personally, I just laugh. All I want is for people to not take everything so seriously...just laugh at life. Just because someone says something stupid on an internet message board, there's no reason to be angry.
Appendix: this wasn't directed at either Stallion, Skew, Gouge, or anyone else who's participated in this argument with Keith this time. I'm referring generally to the board. Stallion, I think you're just fine in disagreeing with him (just about everyone disagrees with him at some point, most more often than others).
its an undeniable fact form 2004 -2008. the lineup and thus, the crowd, have changed. so i speak about facts that i have witnessed. the music, the crowd, security, shakedown, dumbass glowstick rules, etc.... all facts. all changes in a direction many dont like. if you cant see it then i dont know what to tell ya...... why fight and scream about it when you know its what happened? no they havent burned the farm and had riots but it has all changed. IT IS UNDENIABLE!!!!!!!!!! and i dont understand how i get pigeonholed in as this jam or fuck you person. i love all sorts of music. J-5 was one of the best shows ive seen, dr john was incredible, radiohead is in my top 5 shows of all time, bassnectar, lotus, particle, ozric tentacles, and boombox kick my ass everytime i see them. bela fleck, ramblin jack elliot, sam bush, cornmeal, the red hot trio, the recipe, keller and the keels, and yonder are a few of the best shows ive ever seen too. in fact if asked what my favorite music is i dont even respond jam, its a close second to bluegrass. i loved dave both times i saw him. ben folds and guster put on killer shows. my first show ever was the cranberries, it was excellent. fuck man at the time i saw em metallica was the best show id seen, it was the millenium show with kidrock and ted nugent and they put on a helluva show too. (i wouldnt want them at roo though) so im not sure where you get this whole closed minded jam fan shit from. probably a place where roo hasnt changed and metallica, kanye, and tool = the dead, string cheese, and wsp. but you couldnt be more wrong about my musical tastes.
