Bringing a camp shower and extra water to get that evening shower. More frozen water. A shade tent for my tent to get that extra hour of sleep in the AM.
take a nap during the day.... well i did that last year too, but i have to make sure it gets done again... i crashed hard during the Flips last year and i don't want that to happen again.
place my tent underneath my shade canopy.
not bringing any beers, i'm never at the campsite except to sleep so what's the point?
Did you miss some of the Lips last year too? I started getting sleepy half way through and took advantage of the fact that I actually felt like sleeping and crashed.
Not seeing that whole show is my biggest regret from 07. But man I needed that sleep.
We did the same thing last year and was our biggest regret as well, but fortunately got to see them at Summer Camp a couple weeks ago, and that more than made up for it.
When I'm not using them I will keep my pillows, sheets, and blankets in the truck where I know rain can't get to them. Don't you wish you had done this at Langerado Lordrockinghood?
HaHa, nope... bailing out the tent, ringing out the blanket, and throwing out the pillow about an hour after setting up... highly reccommended for good time enhancement!
YES... if it needs to stay dry, and pouring rain is a possibility... ALWAYS keep it in the vehicle when not needed... lessen learned the hard way
Gonna ride the ferris wheel. Gonna take naps so I can get my groove on late night. I will not allow any wookies to spray me with there water guns, no matter how "magical" there water is. Will not miss an amazing set. (Radiohead) Looking for elusive "real shakedown" Eat more grill cheese!
sandals are good for your campsite to let you feet breath and relax in but i wouldnt wear them into centeroo especially if you are camped in BFE. Basically if you are gonna do alot of walking put on a thick pair of socks (ie footjoy) and wear a new/simi-new pair of comfortable shoes. my feet were the only problem that i encountered at roo last year, probly because i insisted on wearing sandals for most of the weekend.
Yessiree. I had told a friend last year to bring comfy shoes and socks. What she ended up bringing were plasticish, knockoff crocks. After the fisrt day she was miserable.
As for what I would do differently, I think I would have to say sunscreen. Lots and lots of sunscreen.

I think the sandals thing depends on what kind of sandals you are talking about. I have Chacos, and wore them during the entirety of 'Roo last year, with no problems whatsoever. Perfectly comfortable, plus they leave a sweet "Z" tan on your feet. If you are talking about something more like flip-flops then yea, I'd say go with good socks and tennis shoes instead.
take more pictures ride the ferris wheel go see the shows I want to see, even if the rest of the group doesn't find the grilled cheese stand make it to more late night shows and to at least one late late night show
- Drink water even when I don't think I am thirsty - Ride the Ferris Wheel - Be more receptive to chatting with strangers - I sometimes get shy when in crowds and nervous - Eat grilled cheese - Go with the flow and not worry about my friends - they will be just dandy! - Take more pictures (this year I want one with the arch - didn't get that last year) - Chill more - see bands as they come and not feel that if I miss a show my life will end. Sometimes the best Roo experiences are not those near the front of the stage (or the stage you were heading to)

- Not driving through the night on Wednesday night....screwed me for the next day or so - Bringing liqour as well as beer (Gin N tonics on a hot afternoon....tasty) - Bringing a canopy for shade.... - Pace Pace Pace Pace Pace
This is what I am actually doing differently, but NOT recommended:
1. not bringing shade (gonna have a heatstroke! 2. not bringing spending money (lots of trailmix!) 3. not bringing a ticket (ohman!)
Things I am doing differently that are actually GOOD IDEAS:
1. bringing something to sell and not getting caught(did this last year with Camel Lights) 2. going with a friend, not alone (I still made many friends, however! Go alone some time, It's awesome) 3. Not overpacking (one backpack!)
A few things I'll do differently: 1. Ride the ferris wheel. 2. Sleep later (thanks to new shade and cooling strategies). 3. Stay up late enough to see Kanye and Bisco finish out their sets. 4. Tape more bands (I only got 3 or 4 last year).

Things I'll do differently: 1. Chill on the Alpha personality (this year my group of 9 will only have 2 noobs, one will have her bf with her and the other is too laid back to give a poop, so I won't really have any pre-roo stress). 2. Remember my glowing ninja suit. 3. Wear my prescription sunglasses during the day. 4. Wear my glasses at night.
I am going to be WAY more careful about what I buy and from who
no freakin doubt on that man....last year i me and a friend had like 90 bucks wasted....this year were bringing our own,and heading advice learned AFTER least years roo...The BEST things in life REALLY ARE FREE...
seconding the question on what happened with that. i was thinking of selling some packs out of my carton.
I got caught with 7 packs on me, they took all but two, which I said I needed for personal use. It sucked.
were you sitting there with a sign or something or yelling out that you were selling cigs? i was thinking of waiting til sunday or something when people start to get desperate for them. i probably won't even smoke half the carton, and i'd rather unload them before going home on monday. same with beer.
I will: Meet more people. Be less stressed about life outside of 'Roo (this is hard for me). Dance more. Take more pictures. Stray from the group. Actually stay up late to see late nights (glad I am not the only one who missed some late nights) Find the real Shakedown Ride the Ferris Wheel
This year, I will make sure to: *Use the porta-johns before the show starts. *Bring a spare camera battery. *Set up a real campsite, with chairs, an EZ Up, a cooler and maybe even a grill. *Hoist a flag next to my tent so I can actually find it late at night. *Zip up my tent properly so it doesn't get rainwater inside. *Get everyone's contact info. *Rent a car instead of taking the shuttle. *Find the garlic grilled cheese stand. *Find the real Shakedown. *Do more on Thursday night. *Bring friends, and convince the broke ones to volunteer. *Wander around more.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
Not much I plan on doing differently... maybe head into Roo sooner? Last year I didn't bring a tent because I slept in my car (great idea, really, never done it at Roo before this year) but I don't think I'm bringing my car, next year, so I've got to bring a tent.
- Not go with the same people I did last year (one big group of debbie downers) - Take naps so I can go all night - Talk to more people I don't know - Hold a jam session at my campsite - Dance like a complete fool and not care what anyone thinks - Attempt to not use my cell phone unless locating a lost group member - Pack hats and head scarfs instead of multiple pairs of shoes. - Legally purchase and consume alcohol. - If my group doesn't want to see a band that I do...then I'll go on my own...chances are I'd find more interesting people.
- go with fewer people - have a mini (relaxing) weekend vacation before roo - meet up with more people - actually attend the brunch. missed it 2 years running... 3rd time is the charm? - spend more time with people not in my immediate group - design a cool EL wire costume for latenights

All great ideas i love straying from the group. you get to meet so many interesting people.
-exchange contact info -deffinately bring some white lightning to show the yankees how its supposed to be done -Find the TRUTH again!
