it would amazing if they were at the roo but i prefer that they have there own festival like always. i can certainly see it happening especially them playing there own festie at the roo site.
For all the folks who say that Phish won't be there because they could have their own festival: Can't you say that for several acts who have already played (multiple times) like Umphrey's, Allmans, The Dead, Levon Helm, WSP, etc?
Hearing everything over the last year from the band members (particularly Mike) express that Phish will continue in addition to everyone's side projects. That leads me to believe that none of them have the time and energy to develop and put out a huge festival on top of all of that. Wouldn't it make more sense for them to take over Roo which already has its infrastructure up and running (and owns the property)??

this is true, but phish have already been putting on festivals for now over a decade. it would make more sense for them to have there own but now on the bonnaroo site since everything is set up for them and superfly took tons of ideas from the phish festies for the roo. or just bring it back to limestone.

thats what deercreek is for
(the roo shows and the end of summer festie are gonna be cool too though)

yes and no. a band like umph could do a camp bisco type thing MAYBE - with other bands headling(that had about 6k this past summer) whereas phish can easily have 100k. with just phish. no other bands. for an entire weekend. thats the dif.

very valid point, the only bands i can think of off the top of my head that have played roo recently that can draw that many to there own festival are radiohead, the dead, and the dave matthews band. pearl jam probably could too and i wish they would.
What are the chances this had an effect on Langerado's move to downtown? If Ethan knew this (and all indications are that he did) then who knows?
from what i understand and read via some people that know the rado peeps - they have always wanted to be in miami and are pretty happy with the decision. (take with grain o salt tho)
In today's economy, I honestly think 100k seems like quite a stretch.
this is true, but there are many articles about how the one business that hasn't been slumping with the economy is the concert industry. it is after all a personal escape for all of us with how bad things really are. i consider my temporary secret hiding place from reality. ;D

I have $9 in my bank account and I just requested $174 worth of tickets. I will worry about the money when the time comes... for now all I know or care about is that I WILL see Phish in 09!
Watchin' a stretch of road, miles of light explode. Driftin' off a thing I'd never done before. Watchin' a crowd roll in. Out go the lights it begins. A feelin' in my bones I've never felt before...
i dunno theres a lot of pent-up demand, 100k isn't out of the question. but all those posers who went and got real jobs during the hiatus and can't take off are gonna need to be replaced.
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
No way in hell they will ever be at Roo. Or any other fest. They are way too big. They do their own fests. Besides, Roo isn't exactly a jamfest anymore. I don't think Phish would do it out of principle

I'm thinking it is possible that maybe Superfly would book Phish to headline Roo and then allow the capacity to reach closer to 90k or maybe even 100k altho I think that would get ridiculous. But this would make up for the lower ticket sales they had this past year. Clearly they are going to atleast try, but I'm thinking Phish probably has their own plans that may or may not involve Roo.
Honestly though I'd rather see them have their own Phestival again...
