I saw them last night with Emmure and Unearth. Fricking ridiculous, out of hand, and phenominal. I would in no way be opposed to seeing them again at Roo.
But Isis announced their new CD is coming out May 5th...so that made me think that there's a bigger chance of them being there...or it's wishful thinking ;D
I seen Emmure not to long ago with TTDTE and Veil of Maya and one other i forget, got a nice roundhouse to the chin though during Emmure... It'd be funny having a bunch of HXC dancers in a big circle at Roo haha

THAT TOTALLY ALMOST HAPPENED TO ME! The one bouncer grabbed me and pulled me back just in time and sent me to stand at side stage with the bands because he didn't want to watch me get my ass handed to me hahaha.
And it would be HILARIOUS to see a bunch of tough guy hxc kids there...as long as FSU doesn't make an appearance. Not that there's anything wrong with them persay...they just scare the living hell out of me.
so i remember lots of people were pretty shocked to learn there would be several metal bands at roo in 2008. despite the uneasy feeling from some, the metalheads i met at roo this year were mostly very friendly people that seemed to be there for the same reason anyone goes to bonnaroo... to let loose and see great live music.
so i was wondering if we the people of inforoo think that the metal factor at bonnaroo was a one time experiment thing or if there will continue to be several metal acts every year.. possibly expanding year after year. i mean i think it would be an a-hole move on AC/superfly's part to just abandon the metal factor next year after lots of metal lovers had a great time this year wanting to return. if you think metal bands will be a continuous trend what metal bands do you think will/should play? do you think there will be another metal headliner or subheadliner?
personally, as far as the musical aspect of the roo... i feel that the well roundedness of it was one of the things that make it so great... i liked being able to see metallica, lupe fiasco, AND jack johnson all on the same weekend...
as far as the image that most people have of metalheads... i feel like people should really lay off. granted, we all know the long haired leather coat wearing kid that thinks everything that isnt talking about satan, or killing women, sucks... i know this. However, isnt the roo about bringing ALL kinds of people together, in an unprecedented act of unity and community? if you ask me, it is totally about that... and the artists that play reflect that.
what metal would i like to see? well mastadon played last year, and that was friggin great... as a person who really does enjoy all different forms of music... they were a great addition. but the only band i can think of off the top of my head that i would like to see at bonnaroo is killswitch engage... they play huge festis often, and i think that bonnaroo would appreciate the balance of heavy duty music, and positive uplifting lyrics.

Just to throw this out there...AC-Superfly just booked Opeth at the Bijou Theatre in Knoxville. Kinda weird considering it is a sit down venue....an all acoustic show perhaps? Here's hoping this means they are coming to the Roo.
I left before Unearth when I saw them a few days ago too...I've been seeing them since I was 16...don't understand why people still dig them.
Did ETID happen to play any of their new stuff? I'm dying to know what it sounds like.
Did you check out that link I left here for ya? I wanna make it to a NE MF out by your area too, shits always legit
I did...it didn't look too updated though.
And I'm TOTALLY going to NEMF. It's kind of a hike from where I'm at but two of my friends bands (ABR and Century) are playing so any excuse I have to see them and a bunch of ridiculous bands is cool by me haha.

After seeing them added as a friend on Myspace, the possibility of DOWN at Bonnaroo isn't all that far fetched IMO. About two weeks ago, headlining tour dates popped up everywhere, then were more or less retracted. Could the dates have been pulled to give the band some more time off after the tour with Metallica, let them finish working on the new album(also supposed to be out in 09), and get them ready for a late spring/early summer tour? I really think this is a strong possibility, at least I'm hoping. Both Metallica and The Sword on that leg of the tour are Roo vets, Pepper Keenan (with COC) has collaborated with Warren Haynes, and Stanton Moore, both also Roo vets. I know this is all purely speculation at this point, but if there is any one metal band at Bonnaroo this year, I'm hoping for Down.
(5:15 PM MST 01/05/2009) Down, Weedeater and Evil Army will be hitting the road together beginning next month, dates include: February 15th Vancouver, BC - Commodore Ballroom February 17th Calgary, AB - MacEwan Hall February 18th Edmonton, AB - Edmonton Event Centre February 20th Winnipeg, MB - Burton Cummings February 21st Fargo, ND - The Venue February 22nd Minneapolis, MN - First Ave. February 24th Traverse City, MI - Streeter's February 25th Flint, MI - Machine Shop February 26th Flint, MI - Machine Shop February 28th Cleveland, OH - House of Blues March 01st Philadelphia, PA - Trocadero March 02nd Sayreville, NJ - Starland March 04th Asheville, NC - Orange Peel March 05th Atlanta, GA - Masquerade March 06th Nashville, TN - The Cannery March 08th New Orleans, LA - Southport Music Hall March 09th Houston, TX - House of Blues March 11th San Antonio, TX - The Scout Bar March 12th Dallas, TX - Palladium March 13th Oklahoma City, OK - Diamond Ballroom March 15th Denver, CO - Gothic Theater March 17th Phoenix, AZ - Marquee Theater March 18th as Vegas, NV - House of Blues March 19th Los Angeles, CA - Wiltern Theater March 20th San Francisco, CA - Grand Ballroom

I think it's gonna happen, maybe i'm overly hoping but I think by myspace adding them we have a legit chance
i'm having a hard time figuring out where to put them on the schedule. they don't fit with any of the bands i have projected. i ended up having them headline a tent.
