I think it's gonna happen, maybe i'm overly hoping but I think by myspace adding them we have a legit chance
i'm having a hard time figuring out where to put them on the schedule. they don't fit with any of the bands i have projected. i ended up having them headline a tent.
If they headlined a tent thursday i would laugh, id be in bliss
I want his whole...."We're the best quackin' band on the planet...." rant.
I love Phil. Such a badass.
hahah, best Phil rant I ever heard... He was with Superjoint Ritual in Pittsburgh playing with Ozzfest. Between songs, he started talking and before long, he got muted out by the "PAN-TER-A" chants. He went on to rant about how we were the "worst fuckin' crowd he's ever seen" and how "even if Pantera did get back together he wouldn't come back to play Pittsburgh to save his fuckin' life"
After seeing them added as a friend on Myspace, the possibility of DOWN at Bonnaroo isn't all that far fetched IMO. About two weeks ago, headlining tour dates popped up everywhere, then were more or less retracted. Could the dates have been pulled to give the band some more time off after the tour with Metallica, let them finish working on the new album(also supposed to be out in 09), and get them ready for a late spring/early summer tour? I really think this is a strong possibility, at least I'm hoping. Both Metallica and The Sword on that leg of the tour are Roo vets, Pepper Keenan (with COC) has collaborated with Warren Haynes, and Stanton Moore, both also Roo vets. I know this is all purely speculation at this point, but if there is any one metal band at Bonnaroo this year, I'm hoping for Down.

Hey, cool. They're playing like 20 minutes from my house. However, the venue blows and I don't think I'd pay simply to see Down. I keep on hearing good things about their live shows, so I would like to see one, but their recordings have never reall grabbed me. I like 'em, but not enough to pay to see them in a crappy venue

Down is very good live. And if you want to get into them, and you havent already listened, definitely listen to "Stone the Crow", or really all of their NOLA album. So good.

Stanton Moore played drums for the entire Corrosion of Conformity album "In The Arms Of God" Warren Haynes played on a COC song called "Stare Too Long" off the album "America's Volume Dealer"
