Got GA's to all 3 Giants Stadium shows in the fall today. Woohoo. Good start to June.
Just wanted to let you know that I don't like you very much.
I flew up for GS 3 last year, and really want to go up again for 10/3. I for one really like the all GA field!
Haha, sorry. The all GA field I think is an awesome idea. My friends/family have 20 GA's total for Saturday and it should be a lot of fun being able to be together for the show.
The one thing I wish he would do is go to a random ticket scan system for the pit though like U2 does. It really eliminates the hassle of lotteries...and with that many GA tickets the chances it doesn't get messed up aren't too good.
on the one hand - yeah. if they did the same show i saw at the boston garden a month ago at roo (well, not exactly the same) it would make for a great night.
i mean, he might consider a few more covers or more big hits. it's not like reaching into the dark corners of a B side to a single no one cared about to begin with from 1979 is what we're looking for.
It turns out that Bruce Springsteen's Oct. 3 concert at Giants Stadium won't be the final concert at the soon-to-be-demolished venue, after all. The Boss has added two more shows, Oct. 8-9.
Tickets will go on sale June 8 at noon; call (800) 745-3000 or visit ticketmaster.com.
Springsteen, who is currently on tour in Europe, put tickets to Sept. 30 and Oct. 2-3 shows on sale yesterday, and they sold out within hours.
So I read on Wikipedia that Jay Weinberg, Max's son, was sitting in for his dad on the Boss tour when his dad couldn't due to Tonight Show obligations. Do ya'll think Max will be on the Farm this year???
Note: I was secretly hoping he might show up at the Superjam.

Max will be at 'Roo,hopefully both he and Jay.The press release from this week just said that Jay would play all the rest of the Scandanavian shows, which makes sense since Max is in Cali and Jay is in Sweden with the Band (doing an amazing job, btw).
The last show is in Bergen Norway on Wed night, but that is about 1 pm our time.So by Thurs they'll be back in the States, with a couple of days off to prep some stuff for 'Roo...
On Max's first show back after Jay played an entire show,Max was on fire! That was with only 1 show off.Imagine how ready to go he'll be after having the past 2 weeks off!!
just went to a taping of tonight show with conan on friday. it was my first time seeing max weinberg and he was great. i hope he is at bonnaroo with the e street band
This thread title is an understatement. Hell yeah we got Springsteen.
Were you in the Pit? We lined up around 7:30 am,and hung out all day.The only person I know for sure was with us and posts here is Meyersman, but I kept wondering if any other inforoo regulars were with us thruout the day? I was about 6 in line, the bald guy in the Giants Stadium 2003 shirt, with skin glowing lobster red...

I was in the pit for Wilco and then got back out and got in line for Springsteen. Pretty much stood for 7 hours until Springsteen finished, but it was totally worth it as I was up close for two of my favorite groups.
The show was good but it could have been so much better with some better song choices. For me the highlight of the show was Seeds-Johnny 99-Youngstown combo. If Bruce actually tried to do something like that for awhole show and stripped away all the cheese it could have been the best show of the weekend.
Also serious wtf at Santa Claus is coming to town?? Im sure it was cool to see since its so rare and everything for the hardcore fans but come on he has SOOOO many great songs that could have been played in that spot, that was so disappointing.
This was my favorite show of the weekend and I'm not a Bruce fan at all! We were up pretty close and he had so much energy. They did not take hardly any breaks at all over the course of those three hours. So impressive. They brought it.

I heard he soundchecked really early. Did you see/hear any of that? Also was he sick at all?

i had a blast at the boss... i've seen him solo and with the e street band a few times though... the thing that bothered me was that people brought in signs saying pretty nasty things. i can't fathom how someone would go through the effort to attend a show to only hold up a hate sign. its the exact opposite of what the festival is about.

Elaborate on hate sign? I was about 4th row center in the left pit (4-5 people away from triumph) the only signs i saw were for songs. Except for one douchebag (who actually was a vendor, we saw him cooking the next day) who had a massive sign and bumped his way up there way late (encore) in the set to hold it up for Bruce to see.
It didn't even make sense. It said, "Empty Emmons Virginia gibberish free hold nj" ( I read it on the ground after the show, had to see what was so important) He kept holding it up and bumping into people and some girl pulled it down cause he was smacking everyone in the head with it. He turned to go after her and people stepped in and were like chill. Then he kept it up til a BIG dude was like, get the eff out. And the guy moved out of the pit.
It was a pretty standard Bruce set, song-wise, but he had a man on a mission look about him that night. I loved every second of it...and especially Santa Claus. I heard people after the show bitching that "it wasn't Christmas, what's wrong with him?" I was like Wow, they missed the entire point...it's supposed to be goofy and just ridiculous fun to have 60 or so thousand people singing a christmas song while sweating their asses off in June. I thought it was the epitome of a Bruce show, check your pretentiousness at the door and just go for some damn good fun and rock and roll music.

It was a tape of Raise Your Hands at about 9A.The Band was back at the Hotel, and yes Bruce had a bit of a cold (massive snot rocketage).Likely due to the temp change from Bergen which was a chilly 40+ on Wed

Dave sorry I missed you,I was hoping I'd get a chance to meet you.I didn't know Triumph was even there, until I read some of the press accounts that talked about him "dueting" with Bruce on Sunny Day and OITS(?).
I did see Top Chef top judge Tom Colichio parked up against the walking ramp in the right pit.He was low profile, but smiled and waved when a bunch of us yelled at him.He was also majorly into the show, singing like a madman during OITS.
Agree completely about it being a standard set,but an incredible performance.Of course I didn't expect anything less, just Bruce being Bruce.I was in the 2nd row (right behind the "VIPs" that Bonnaroo snuck in at the last minute),and the Pit was on fire. But there wasn't anyway for me to measure overall crowd response, because there wasn't the usual fans in the stands to observe. And I couldn't see more than 6 or 7 rows behind me thru the sea of pumping fists...

I was not getting into the show at all, being up at the VIP beer tent surrounded by people who were yelling at each other about how drunk they were. At the end of the show I decided to see if I could get in the pit. I did, and that changed EVERYTHING. Being amongst the real fans, close to the legendary band, and seeing the Boss in control of it all, was a wonderful experience. His patter was cracking me up, too. "Ya can't take no more! You're all Bonnaroo-ed out!"

i was across the aisle from the guys with the santa sign and by them were two sets of people. one of which had a sign that said "springsteen xxxxx xxxxx vaginal discharge" i couldn't see the other two words. besides them was a smaller springsteen sucks sign. which the boss looked at and ignored while pulling the santa sign. i can understand why people can not like his music, but to try and attack the individual is a totally different matter... guy is awesome and every time i have seen him he always delivers... he is the karl malone of music.

sorry i didn't want to bring negitivity in here... it just bothered me. on a positive note.
i was driving down from chicago on 1-65 and passed two signs. one said stephen foster museum. the other stephen foster the musical. me and my friend are all like, who is this, and why does he get two state signs?
then... Hard Times Come Again No More... greatest moment in live music history for me... well thats a lie, the three songs sunday night were.

Bruce probably got a chuckle out of those signs.Wonder what those folks were thinking AFTER the show?
Check out the size of the plane in the beginning of this video. Doubt Bruce is going to be bothered because a couple of clueless dweebs decided to exert the energy to make and bring a negative sign into the Pit.
I'm thinking they were likely Hannity/OReilly devotees, and their vitrol stemmed from political, rather than musical reasons.

I really hate that anyone would do such a thing. Though I guess it says something about those people as a whole. It wouldn't even occur to me to do that no matter how much I hated a band.
Oh, and I love O'Reilly as well even though he really seems to have it out for Bruce. I love Bruce a million times more, but I do enjoy The Factor! I just laugh at some of the discussions on BTX about Republicans.
