it was a fluke, something was down on their site when they sent it. should have gotten a new one with the info. nothing too exciting, just featuring some of the artists...no new announcements...yet

"We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five. "
well I won't complain about that add....will make my gf happy for sure....I hope with all these headliners they aren't going to have two playing at the same time! I also hope they still get a few more mid-tier bands to fill in for Street Sweep Social Club and Eagles of Death Metal
got my festival tickets, plane tickets and hotel booked. Just a matter of saving up some spending cash now.
I have a couple of questions for anyone who has been to Voodoo before. First off, how many people should I expect to deal with each day? I've read attendance is normally around 100,000 - 120,000, but I'm assuming that is the weekend total.
Also, what's their stance on cameras? I've got a Nikon D60 with a very modest telephoto lens that I would like to bring. It's this - www.demystifyingdigital.com/images/article/nikon-d60.jpg - only with a slightly longer lens. Maybe an extra inch or so. Should I expect any problems getting that in?

yeah the max attendance i think was in 2007 when it was 150,000 and i think that's for the entire weekend. so i'd say expect anywhere from 30-50k each day, with sunday being the "quietest" since everyone's recovering from halloween
i went both years when attendance was at its highest and it never seemed to be unbearable at all. people seem to come and go a lot and that helps with the flow in and out of the gates.
as for the camera, you should be fine...the only thing they express is no detachable lenses.

It is a detachable lens, but I've got it into shows with similar rules. When they see that I don't have a huge lens and tripod and all that, they typically don't mind.
30,000-50,000 per day is a nice number. I'm not a huge fan of massive crowds. Not so much for the crowd itself, but just because you're so much farther back at the stages.

Going for the first time this year and my gf is coming along. Both looking forward to it! A few random questions...appreciate any help from those that have been before!
1) Would you expect a lot of people dressing up all nights or just Halloween?
2) Is it easy enough to get reliable public transit from the French Quarter Marriott down to the park? Would renting a car be a better idea or just expensive and a pain? Never been to New Orleans, so not real familiar with any of this.
3) I've seen the list of stuff you can and cannot bring, but how strict are they...like can I sneak alcohol in if I've been successful at Roo and Rothbury or is security more on top of things?
4) Are camp type fold up chairs allowed or just the small beach chairs like at Roo?
