That doesn't sound like an official NO to me yet! I am in the same boat but trying to come up with a way to make it. If I can find a friend to stay with it is possibly do-able. But that is on the lesser side of possibly.

I'm thinking about buying tickets, but I need to know if skipping Friday or Sunday (we'll probably have to miss one) is going to make us miss something I really want to see. We don't have enough vacation time to take Thurs-Monday off for the drive....anyone know anywhere with rumors?

holiday inn is cheap...

book a flight and hotel together and you usually save a good amount, that's what I did. I'd suggest getting this booked sooner than later, it's Halloween weekend in New Orleans, it's going to fill up!!
