From Gary Chardonnay (in response to an RFID question on Bonnaroo.com):
RFID technology is an excellent tool that protects our fans' investment in Bonnaroo, providing important safeguards to protect everyone against lost, stolen or fraudulent tickets. The RFID wristbands will also enhance your overall experience at the festival, enabling us to create more efficiencies which will reduce time spent waiting in lines to enter Bonnaroo, as well as Centeroo and the Main Venue. We believe that this new technology will serve to make Bonnaroo a better experience for everyone.
If your that worried just stick a ball of aluminum up your butt and it will counter act the electro magnetic tracking devices...and stop bonnaroo from stealing your soul and giving it to Justin Bieber to power his world domination....
Active wristbands have a 100m range (unsure if this is in optimal situation or not). It appears that it will be obvious if we are given "active" bands. They would have to be the rugged ones for festival goers and look like a watch accept the "watch" part is not a watch.

people get so worried about everything. I remember when the tower was installed and lots of people were like "they'll be spying and hunting down people. no more partying at roo".

I'm sure this has been covered, but I'm too lazy to read through the whole thread.
Are all RFID wristbands made of the same material? Is there any chance we'll be getting cloth wristbands or can we look forward to uncomfortable plastic wristbands all weekend?
For the record, I'm only bummed about this because I want a ticket to hold onto like the past couple of years and I want to have four cloth Roo bracelets.
Me too. I still don't like the idea of an RFID bracelet though... The technology was developed solely to track people that went missing. Then it moved onto tracking animals. Now it can hold information, which while being helpful, still is not its only ability. I understand the paranoia, because I've researched the technology. Please Google or YouTube 'William Pawluk'. He co-invented RFID technology.
