Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I would be down for them having some sort of attractions on Wednesday. I think they should keep the music to a 4 day event. At least the Centeroo music. Maybe add some campground stages for smaller bands to perform. Start allowing people to come in and camp beginning Wednesday afternoon/early evening and have some kickoff events. But I think the festival is fine the way it is with 4 days of music.
Yes!! I was going to say this. The start of the fest will always be the moment the gates open whether or not that opening is official. My fest starts the moment on Wednesday night that I enter the gates. Its irrelevant if bonnaroo officially adds wednesday bands or stages. If you bring some microphones, instruments, speakers and power sources, you are the opening act of bonnaroo... Even if you're opening at the outer limits of pod 1. I can't wait to see the first show. I hope their stage is right next to my tent.
Bonnaroo is not adding Wednesday night acts - not this year, and most likely not ever. There will be a lot of changes in Bonnaroo's next ten years, but I'm confident that won't be one of them. They will make Thursday a full day before we ever get any Wednesday bands. They open the gates on Wednesday night to ease up congestion on Thursday - if they add bands on Wednesday, people will just start camping out at Walmart on Tuesday night, thus defeating the whole point of letting people in early. As Capps said, at a certain point you just have to decide that you're just not going to put on a $500 week-long festival.
In the "Ask Gary" Q&A section of the Bonnaroo site the answer to the question of when tent only opens suggests it is Wed. at 7 p.m. A clarifying question was asked five days ago and has gone unanswered so far.
Due to work or school some people won't be able to go in on Wednesday so hopefully TO won't will until Thursday evening.
I hope you're right. I'm going in around 2am on Thursday and I thought that this would pretty much secure me a spot in TO before they said they were opening on Wednesday.

If we get to leave when I want to (and that's as early as we will be able since the gf works the night shift on Tuesday), it'll probably be around 10am on Wednesday. So the absolute earliest we get there is around 2-3 Thursday morning.
I'm not too keen dragging all my jazz from BFE to TO in the dark, so we may say fudge it and sleep in the car, and then set up around 8-9am or something. Dunno just yet.
It is nice that Gary answered the ? so many people had, but I don't think it's going to benefit me much.

Yea, I believe they will still fill BFE first, but I'm expecting it to fill up faster this year, so depending on what time you get in on Wednesday, BFE may already be full.

Well, I think this pretty much makes my decision regarding TO. We were sort of leaning towards car camping this year anyway, but with TO opening earlier than previous years I think we'll definitely have to stay by the car. Chances are we're not going to be able to get there Wednesday night or super early Thursday and I really don't want to lug stuff to TO only to discover that we'd have even less room there than we would have by the car.
Wait so if the gates are opening early, does that mean wal marts out? Cause that's where I was setting my gps to. What address should I use otherwise?
1560 New Bushy Branch Rd Manchester, TN 37355
That puts you about 2000' due north of the arch to Centeroo. Not sure of the coordinates for the entrance(s), though, as I'm sure it'll depend on which way you're coming from.

Yeah, for my first Roo I just printed out Google Maps directions to Manchester. If you can get yourself ANYWHERE in the general vicinity, you'll run into the lines eventually.
alright guys, need some opinions about this: i only live 20 min from the farm and have volunteered the past 2 years, so i didn't have to fight the traffic and the lines. i was originally planning this year on leaving my house around 10 am-noon and was hoping i could just cruise right on in...now with the gates opening early officially, when do you guys think i should leave? i really don't want to leave my house, be at the farm in 20 min, and have to wait in line for 5 hours...when do y'all think i should leave in order to get in a "moving" line and not have to wait hours?

The line should be gone by Saturday, yeah if you leave your house around noon on Saturday you can be inside Bonnaroo in less than an hour.
This whole early gates opening this is really fuckin with my plans this year. Ill do anything to avoid being in BFE again. Over the past five years I've developed a pretty good system and I knew when to get in line. Now I don't know what to do...Probably the same thing I've been doing and hope it works out for the best.
