This changed my groups plans. But not by a whole lot. We always went in Wednesday night so we would normally leave michigan around 10am Wednesday morning. This year we are leaving at 7am. Which a few people aren't happy about because of being up so early but o well. They can sleep on the drive down.

Man last year, I was driving past the line that takes you into bonnaroo off the side of the highway. Well, I was gonna turn around after taking a video of the line, but once I saw a mile long opening in the line, I had to take a spot in line, and apparently the guys that held up the line for a mile passed out in their car lol..... well they caught up to me like 5 minutes later and we ended up being neighbors at camp. now we're all gonna meet up this year and go in together lol. so it worked out that i cut in line. lol. and it only took a mere hour tops to get into roo last year. the longest i sat in line was in 2007 and we sat for a good 7 hours. totally didn't take the best way in that year....

How did this work out for people? I'd really like to do it this year, if my friends can get the time off. Last year I couldn't go down until Friday, and my friends didn't really seem sold on the Wednesday thing. Were Wednesday people closer or farther from Centeroo?

Man, Yoderoo was the last to post in this thread. R.I.P.
I'd say, generally you were parked farther, but it was easy in and smooth sailing down to Tents Only. Weird seeing the farm before everyone swarms in... peaceful calm before the storm. It adds an extra night of camping festivities to the marathon, so rest up and relax.
Last year, we got in on wednesday. It took us about an hour to get through the tollbooths and parked. Getting there Wednesday was great because we were set up and orienting by the time the festivities started on Thursday. We got to know our neighbors and got cozy at camp. It was also nice to have wednesday night through Thursday afternoon to rest up. We were kind of far away from centeroo but it wasn't an unbearable walk. There is no way to know where you'll get put. They don't fill the close camps first or the far away camps, from what I could tell it's random. Getting in on wednesday made a big difference for my group. The year before we came in on Thursday, waited 6 hours in line, camped further away then last year, and missed two acts we wanted to see. It's nice to give yourself time to get set up and rested. If you can pull it off I would 100% recommend getting to roo on Wednesday.
Last year we had a 4 car caravan. One of my idiot friends got in line without the rest of the caravan as we almost didn't camp together. Since we were there early the police guiding traffic let us pull over and find our friends. If we had gone in at any other time we would have been screwed. If you have several vehicles going in early will also help insure they you and your buds get to stay together. It also helps if your friends aren't idiots and can follow instructions!
How strict are they about letting VIP in before 8am on Thursday. We were hoping to drive down Wednesday night and get in at 2am or so on Thursday to set up. Did anyone do this last year?
For those of you who showed up Wednesday last year, what time did they open up tent only? I know I'm probably asking for classified information so if you want to just DM it to me I won't tell anyone!
