Gov't Mule performing 2 nights, Tedeschi Trucks Band, James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem) DJ Set, Lotus (Late Night), Nigel Hall Band, Simone Felice Band and more added to Mountain Jam Festival 2012 Lineup!
Strangely enough by saying Lotus is latenight that implies James Murphy is not latenight. Maybe he will DJ the set change between Mule and whatever is before Mule on Saturday night.

Simone Felice is awesome. He was supposed to play in 2010 with Duke & The King (as well as a solo acoustic set) but he had to have emergency heart surgery. Definitely look into him if you dig James Taylor, Neil Young, and acoustic singer-songwriter type stuff.

Wait, why? There are two late-night sets (Fri & Sat). Or did they say someone from the initial lineup drop is already playing one of the late nights?

Friday and Saturday both have late nights and there are two stages that they do them (inside and out). I could see Lotus, The Word, and Murphy getting late night sets.

When I saw Simone Felice, I knew that if he was one of the Felice Brothers (I was unsure), that you'd be chiming in!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

He used to drum for the Felice Brothers but left them to do his own thing. I like the Felice Brothers more but Simone is a great songwriter and is a bit more mellow and artsy.
The stages are side by side next to each other. Whoever plays before Mule just takes the side stage while they set up for Mule
This is true for everything but Pre-Headliner > Headliner. At least for the last two years the Pre-Headliner plays the main stage and then there is a break of music before the headliner.

Since the announcement specified that Lotus was latenight and they didn't specify that about Murphy I'm taking it to mean he is not latenight.
Is the VIP parking reasonably close to the VIP campsites or is it a pretty long haul?
Even though going to this festival is going to put me back to back to back with Summer Camp and Roo, I can't see how I can't go given the line-up and the fact that it's only 3.5hrs away. This summer is shaping up nicely.
"To have a great adventure and survive, requires good judgment. Good judgment comes from experience. Experience, of course, is the result of poor judgment."
Most things ARE possible. In the day and a half I have between MJ and leaving for Roo, I told my boss that I would get into the office for at least a few hours. She'll be on vacation too and she's a little worried about the others making it through a week without either of us here. Coming in for those few hours might NOT be one of those things that are possible!

"Radio Woodstock and world-renowned guitarist Warren Haynes (Gov’t Mule, Allman Brothers Band, The Dead) are proud to announce a very special addition to the Mountain Jam music program: Gov’t Mule’s Tribute Ramble featuring The Levon Helm Band on Saturday, June 2nd.
During their second set on Saturday night, Gov’t Mule will be joined by the full Levon Helm Band including Amy Helm, Larry Campbell, Teresa Williams and the LHB Horns among others. The set will feature music from Levon’s 50+ year career.
Levon Helm, the long-time drummer and singer for The Band, a 2-time Mountain Jam performer and Woodstock resident, passed away in April at the age of 71 after a decade-long battle with cancer.
“Levon was a musical hero of mine,” says Warren Haynes. “His 70th birthday celebration at Mountain Jam two years ago was a magical night and a truly inspiring musical performance. So bringing back that incredible band to share in our tribute seemed like a great way to honor his memory.”
“Levon really touched the lives of so many people,” says Radio Woodstock/Mountain Jam president/owner Gary Chetkof. “He was a larger-than-life figure here in the Hudson Valley, so it’s a true privilege and honor to be able to pay tribute to his life music at a festival so close to his hometown.”
Levon Helm presented his Ramble On The Road at the fourth annual Mountain Jam Festival in 2008 and returned in 2010 for his 70th Birthday Jubilee, a set featuring the Levon Helm Band and a host of special guests including Warren Haynes, Donald Fagen, Ray LaMontagne, Sam Bush, Steve Earle, Patterson Hood, and Jackie Greene among others."
