The Wind Creek Stage is now in the parking lot (where the Grooveshark Stage used to be) and the Heritage stage is now on the beach.
Yeah, I was wondering about that. It seemed unlikely that they would have both beach stages with live music at the same time rather than alternate like hangout does.
I love the fact that there are acts after the headliners on friday and saturday. I can imagine that the DJ Jazzy Jeff set after Pearl Jam being a f'n epic dance party.

Well if they don't we got some DJ Jazzy Jeff. I haven't seen Pearl Jam since '99, but I remember them playing for like 3 to 3 and half hours. They need to release some US dates. The have a date on their website for f'n Missoula, MT sept 30th and that is the only show they are playing that's not a festival.

That's a fundraising show for a US Senate candidate that is friends with Stone or Jeff. I'm somewhat surprised they haven't booked a 2-3 southern leg around their DeLuna and Midtown dates. I've seen them probably 15 times in the last ten years, never a bad a show!

This is gonna be awesome. I really do hope this sells out; I'd really like to see this festival become a big deal for years and years to come. Plus, having great DeLuna lineups puts pressure on Hangout to continue putting out great lineups, and a little friendly competition never hurt no one. DeLuna has the potential to be both Hangout's fall compliment and a sort of "anti-Hangout", with no major jam bands and keeping with the alt/indie layout.
^^^ Very excellent points, although from what I've read they will consider it a sellout if they get 35K tickets sold, but will continue selling them. That is good and bad as more money equals a better fest next year, but the experience will be lessened if it is overcrowded.
I hope they make Hangout step their game up. DMB and RHCP were so weak. Just from looking at the official Hangout poster you could tell it would be weak. Hopefully next year they bring the heat. Wish I could do Deluna but Red Rocks is calling me...

Single day tickets announced. $75+fees, comes out to $89 dollars per day. One of my friends who is friends with the DeLuna folks said they added them because people following PJ and Foo on their tours (From DeLuna to Music Midtown, and vice-versa) wanted them.
They're predicting 60k people on Friday and Saturday because of this. I have mixed emotions about it, but I think they're starting to see that with weaker ticket sales predicted for Sunday, that ZBB wasn't the way to go. Hopefully these new single day folks will enjoy the fest and come back for 3 days next year.

That's going to make for a chaotic PJ show... FML!

Wow, 60K?! That will be horrible out there!! Same space as Hangout with twice as many people, yikes!
I have some more bad news for y'all.

That was the best part of the past two years for me, and not being able to get in was my biggest problem with Hangout Fest. Hi Caddyshaq, Due to Florida Environmental Regulations, we had to remove this feature from DeLuna Fest 2012. We were equally sad to see it go this year as well. Matt DeLuna Fest
I was about to sell my Furthur red rocks tickets to go to DeLuna instead, mainly to save a lot of money and get a big variety of bands, but not now. Jampacked beach plus no water access equals weaksauce to me.
I really want to see Pearl Jam and FF too...it's a bummer, I calculated that I'd save like $500 by doing DeLuna instead of Furthur Red Rocks. Oh well, maybe I'll see Pearl Jam one day.
Wow... yeah, talking bout uncomfortable. Even mid-september will be hot as shnit w/o getting in the beach, and god... all those mainstream rockers out there, that will make it miserable at points. I'm definitely glad I chose Tennessee that wknd over DeLuna now... UM on Friday w/ late night Conspirator @ 3rd and Lindsley and then Jimmy Herring that Sunday. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet.

I could swing a single day ticket for Saturday, see Diplo and FF again, but for the price I don't think the lineup is worth it. there is already so much music along the Gulf Coast this Fall, need to watch my expenses.
I'm glad to hear they are expecting huge crowds, I'd really like deluna to succeed so that maybe I could actually go one year.

I agree w/ that entire statement and couldn't have said it any better.
Those are some hetty latenight shows. I am not a fan of the Vinyl though. They get lots of good shows though.
I'm going to Unknown Hinson there this Friday night. Are any of you P'cola brahs doing Emerald Coast Beer Fest this Friday?? Longinus and I go every year. This is like my 8th or 9th year straight.

I have literally missed the beer fest every single year. I don't know why the hell they insist on doing this on a friday?! I ALWAYS have to work on Fridays. Very bummed that I'll be missin' it.
Yeah I am not a huge fan of the Vinyl, but that's pretty much all P'cola realistically has as far as venue's go, so I try to definitely show my support. I'll be there on the 15th for the Raw Panda showcase, and then next month has a few good shows lined up that I plan on attending. (NMA, JJ Grey, MHB & Cursive)
Basically. I've never been a HUGE fan, but I kind of enjoy their style. I've had several chances to see them (between festi's I've missed them @ or just them playing locally) but i've missed 'em each time, so I just feel obligated to go to this one. I honestly just hope Cody busts out the washboard for Psychedelic Sex Machine.

Just 10 days now. I still can't wait. They've already reportedly have offers to two headliners for next year, so that shows they got the money they were looking for for next year. Woo hoo!
I have the feeling at least one of those offers is for The Killers and/or No Doubt. UGH!
Why you no like Killers/No Doubt? Lol.
I think next year's headliners will probably be similar to this years, with the exception of the country headliner. Sunday would have looked this year so much better without ZBB. Maybe a classic headliner (Petty, Springsteen, NYCH, The Who).

60k per day? Because that sounds like a logistical nightmare for a festival that has been way under capacity every year. I hope everything runs smoothly for you guys.
I also hope DeLuna has put out offers to both No Doubt and The Killers for next year because that means neither will end up at Hangout '13.

I had written off NMA until I saw the Jammy's video where he busted out the washboard. That thing was awesome. But I will agree that their songs sound similar. But hey, I love to shake it on down.
That Jammy video was awesome too. At one point Mike Gordon, Phil Lesh and Les Claypool are all out jamming together on their basses. I think it's Jammy's 2004 or 2005.
