According to the build-a-drum guy, the drum I built that he was going to repair and mail out was either lost or stolen....
Sounds like it was lost. Did he give any indication he'd make good on this though? Like a refund or a new drum in it's place or something?
Yeah ITM, we traded a bunch of emails yesterday afternoon. I can't see it being stolen, seems rather "un-Roo" to me. He's sending out a kit to build a new one, but it won't equate to the one built in the sun and rain of the farm, with specs of roo dust in the finish, and done while listening to some great music!

I left my iphone out in plain sight all day while I went to centeroo. When I got back it was gone. Man, Bonnaroo is so unreasonably shady.
My friend left his camelback with his wallet and all his cash on the ground at What while he was tripping face during the concert. I don't believe someone would just take that! Uggggghhhhh. Bonnaroo is soooo shady!
This year was my first Roo and it was pretty fantastic. Nothing stolen, no shady neighbors (well they were shady but in a tolerable way). We locked all of our valuables in my car but left our coolers, drinks, chairs, etc out in plain sight all day/night while we were gone from camp. I think the difference is that we were in the Access Camp and it's pretty well lit and lots of security close by. Maybe we just got lucky, I'm not sure.
As far as those who were involved in the Blacklily situation...man, that is really disgusting. But like a number of Inforoosters noted, karma will give back what she has dished out.
Yay! Remembered the login for my original account so 'kdharvey' is me but from now I'll I'll be posting as kdhbelanger.
Aaaanyway, I also wanted to point out that we didn't use a tent at all this year which I think had something to do with our camp not looking like a good target. Tents are easy access even with a luggage lock on them. I'd recommend keeping as much as possible in your car (so long as you're not in TO) while you're out and avoid a disappointing situation.

Something happened today and I just had to vent and this seamed the most appropriate thread.
I went to Bonnaroo this year solo because my friends bailed. I had an extra spot in my car and offered to take anyone who needed a ride from Maryland to the show. After a couple emails I decided to take Jason84 to the show from Virginia. He would give me 40 for gas and when we arrived he would meet up and camp with his friends and he invited me to tag along but I was reluctant. He also informed me that he would have a possible ride back home.
I just needed to split the fuel cost so I agreed. I payed for gas at our first stop in Roanoke and we had to fill up again when we were in Tennessee. He then told me he had no money for gas so he began to beg for gas money from people around us because I refused to pay anymore for gas, it would have went into my food budget. A nice guy gave us money for gas and I offered him beef jerky but he kindly sad no.
So I left the gas station upset because he didn't upheld his end of the deal but quickly cheered up when we entered Roo. The energy was amazing. He proceeded to call his friends to meet up with no response so I offered to give him shade and a blanket because my tent was somewhat cramped. He agreed to use the space and ended up sleeping near my car all three nights.
I had no problems with this and by this point he had managed to give me half of the money he owed for gas. On Saturday I told him I had to leave at 4pm on Sunday to make it home for work the next day so I had to miss Phish. He said okay. During the evening Saturday I gave my keys to him to get something out of my car and he left my light on and door unlocked. My battery drained and I was lucky to find a awesome person with jumpers. He apologized and things moved on.
The next morning he was gone but his stuff was there. I ran into him near Centeroo and he was wearing a sign "I need a ride back to D.C". By this point it was 3:30pm and told him I had to leave at 4pm. He said he would meet me by the car at 4pm if he couldn't find a ride.
I waited until 5pm at my car. I asked our camping neighbors there opinion on what to do. This guy had no phone and by this point I was already late for work the next day. I told them to inform him that I would no longer wait and placed his stuff into a pile near my former campsite.
We were Facebook friends until tonight. Two months later he messages me accusing me of talking his coolers and dirty towel. I have never been accused of stealing a thing in my life and besides who steals a dirty towel. I will probably never offer a carpool ride based on this experience. So disappointed it reached this point.
Well, just screw him. I thought it was gonna end worse, like he stole a bunch of stuff from yr car. Don't sweat him. You tried to help and he wasn't worth the effort.
After the Shonda thread, if a shady Roo story doesn't end in murder, we're not going to be that impressed around here..
I can't even begging to tell you how true and hilarious this is.
I said something similar to this when expelling the whole thing to my husband one night while I was wildly refreshing and laughing in bed with the lap top.
Videos like this make me have very serious reservations about attending another Bonnaroo. Saw one shirt that said "federal agent." How many different law enforcement agencies responded to this incident?
After the deputy sheriff tampered with the suspect's bag before putting him on the ATV, he did a strange thing with his hand... He appeared to toss something in the back of the ATV, but his hand looked empty. Also, he gave a glance back to the federal agent after making his weird hand movement.
Attended my first roo this year and had an amazing experience staying @ campsite Ivan Drago, our neighbors however had an incident happen to them, while sleeping under their EZ UP overnight some idiot decided to take a stroll through our campsite between our EZ UP and our neighbors and snatched my friends sisters brand spanking new iphone which was laying right next to her she had just gotten it a week prior to roo for graduation from college
Shadiest thing that happened to me this year: Gave up trying to sleep on Friday night and went back into Centeroo quite late - like 3am or so. There was no line to get in, so thought it would be quick entry. Instead I am subjected to THE most thorough search in the 100's of entries to Bonnaroo I've made in 7 years going. Security guard insists I completely unpack my backpack of all items - and I've got numerous glow toys, a jacket, couple packs of cigs, cell, wallet, etc. He takes each thing and further inspects it, opens wallet, cigs, all pockets of pack, etc, and. When he runs out of hands, he signals for another unoccupied security guy to come over and assist holding my stuff. I have absolutely no contraband whatsoever on me, and am being cooperative in the interests of speeding this up. Finally after several minutes, they give me the green light, and piece by piece hand me back my stuff, which is a pain in the ass to repack. I'm agitated and in a rush to get in before Silent Disco closes. I take one step, and instantly stop and spin around. "And I'll take my wallet back too, thanks!". Security guard looks down and pretends to be surprised to see my wallett in his hand. "OH sorry, bro, forgot your wallet!" I snatched it and went on in, still trailing the shady vibes...
Afterwards I thought about it, and I'm certain it is a con these two security guys were running late nights all weekend. It smacked of a choreographed routine. Wonder how many wallets they netted?
