How was that Black Francis show, Zen Arcade? Really wanted to go to that, but was too pooped after second weekend of Jazzfest.
It was freaking awesome. Plenty of balance between solo and Pixies stuff. Was cool hearing him play those songs w/o a backing band and just him on the electric. Good stuff. Met him before and after. He was a nice guy.

Would My Bloody Valentine be too out there as the 3rd headliner? Smaller fan base, riding high on plenty of press, would make waves thru the music press, only US date is FYF Fest....

They're in Holland Oct 31st and in France on Nov 3rd per their website.

I wasn't able to take a screenshot yesterday before they deleted the comment, but voodoo said on a fb status thread that the rest of the lineup will be announced in mid-june.
That article's got an update at the bottom that says "Belew is not part of the touring band. He just contributed to the album." Sucks if true and definitely conflicts with that Facebook update.
yeah, that UPDATE part wasn't there earlier. Goddamnit. Makes sense though after they announced Robin Finck would be joining them...he'll be their live guitarist for sure. Adrian Belew contributed on a few tracks from The Downward Spiral, The Fragile, and Ghosts. Guessing he's way more involved with the new album though.
September 5-8 Arrington, VA—Interlocken Festival (performing w/ Widespread Panic) September 27-28 Nashville, TN—The Lawn at Riverfront Park (performing w/ Zac Brown Band) Ocrober 10 Los Angeles, CA—NOKIA Theatre October 11 Paso Robles, CA—Vina Robles Amphitheatre October 12 Berkeley, CA—Greek Theatre October 15 Denver, CO—The Fillmore Auditorium October 17 Tulsa, OK—Hard Rock October 18 Dallas, TX—Verizon Theatre October 19 Austin, TX—ACL Live October 20 Houston, TX—The Woodlands Pavilion
Perhaps Gary Numan and Neutral Milk Hotel, who others have mentioned, based on their respective dates?
Looks like GY!BE isn't happening since they're not following NIN south after MOEMS, but Explosions in the Sky jump on tour with them just after Voodoo so it's very likely they get added.

Fogerty would be excellent! I think Neutral Milk Hotel is all but a guarantee really.
So I think to close the fest out we might get Phil Lesh & Friends featuring Anders Osborne.
There's going to be a tour with this lineup in the fall (Luther might be involved too) mostly in the NE, but this would be perfect to close out Voodoo.
At the very least I see Phil doing a show at the reopened Saenger with this band. It would be a huge insult to NOLA to do a whole tour with Anders and not throw NOLA a bone.

Next on the list for fests: NOLA here we come. Hope we have more meetups like at these last couple of fests. When closer, wondering who is going to camp ? cr****
I don't know where all these people heard the Eminem rumor, but that makes total sense to me seeing as how the only rap act we have is Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and that he apparently has a new album coming out later this year. And I will continue to talk to myself in here as much as I please.
Just read this thread. I'm moving to NOLA in mid-August. I might PM a couple of you before coming down for your input on the city, etc. I'm leaning heavily towards getting the VIP pass for Voodoo now, too.
I think that's what they need assistance in deciding is which part of the city would be the best area to live. I have friends that live in uptown, bywater, and close to city park. All of those locations have their pros/cons. For me it would depend on where I would be working at. Proximity to work is important. But if they're moving first and looking for a job second, I guess it wouldn't matter much if they didn't have a job lined up already.

Same here. My gf is working at Tulane Hospital, but I don't have anything lined up yet. I have a car, and we both have bikes, and there's the street car, so transportation for us will be ok. I'm mostly just worried about landing a job. Been a foreign policy advisor in DC for over 7 years, and not sure how I'll translate that in NOLA. I'm ready for the ride, though. /offtopic
becoming a dietitian. It's her internship portion of the licensure. Yours? We're heading down the weekend of July 20th to check places out and hopefully get something signed on.
Gary Newman is opening for NIN for those two FL shows www.numan.co.uk/tour/ Extremely likely that he will be at Voodoo.
Pearl Jam announcing tour on tuesday july 9th and it is rumored that: ~friday 11/1 in NOLA is last day of tour ~they will be playing the Wharf in Orange Beach on Halloween night
