Troy is NOT set up to handle anything like this... I am amazed they are even attempting to do something this cool. It is a small town in Ohio, the traffic situation around the stadium is HORRIBLE for high school football games, I can only imagine the clusterf*ck this will bring..
I'm not disagreeing that traffic could be horrible, but you would think a town that hosts an annual strawberry festival that has an average attendance between 100-150,000 people would have some sort of idea of what they will need logistically for this fest.
If I had to choose between Ohio and Florida it would definitely be Florida. But I will be attending Troy because it's only about 20 minutes away from me.
You would think that wouldn't you? Have you ever been to the strawberry festival though?? You park so far away they bus you in on a shuttle. I mean its a comparable walk to centeroo or in normal words a mile or so tops but still. Also strawberry festival attracts people who come and go throughout the day. This will bring that many people at once. Many staying all weekend or at least the entire day. I personally made it a point to not be in Troy during the strawberry festival to avoid all this.
I will also be there because of the 20 mins away thing. Just trying to let anyone who may be on the fence about which stop to hit up what they are in for in Troy

So are you camping or driving in both days? I can't decide what I want to do, I would love to just be able to camp but the thought of being a short drive away from my own bed is almost too good to pass up.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
Fudge - I'm staying with a friend both nights that is within stumbling distance. One advantage of growing up there is I have plenty of places to stay I guess. If you aren't drinking I'd drive on and out but I really would advise against driving if you drink. I can just picture the Troy police department salivating over this opportunity.

Any idea how many tickets they sold per venue last year? I can't imagine it selling out in some of these towns but I guess you never know. I'm thinking St. Augustine has a chance because it's pretty close to Jax and that venue looks tiny.
Alright. I scoured the site for Troy. $109 + $40 for camping. I think shows will be at the stadium AND the arena. Waterpark inbetween. The website mentions a couple town parks and a small grass airport. Looks like parking will be at airport or park and they shuttle you and your gear in. Might bring the wagon and hoof it, because the shuttle thing sounds like a nightmare. It's only a couple hours away from the house, so this looks very doable.
The "Waterpark" is the public pool, that I doubt will be open that weekend. If it is though.... it would be a pretty cool spot that weekend, right outside the stadium
An article in the local paper today says they're selling 25,000 tickets to GOTR St Augustine. I know that field - well - and I don't see how they're going to fit that many people on it. Maybe they're shutting the street down and putting the stage there to fit more people?

It sounds like the waterpark will be open, on the Troy Things To Do page:
We’re also taking over the waterpark (yes, waterpark) right behind the stadium. And the Hobart Arena. And we’re closing down the Market St. bridge, which ties everything together. So you can expect a full-on street fair on both sides of the River.

Why are the travel packages so darn expensive? I'd like to camp, but I feel a little exposed. $900 for 2 tickets, 2 nights in a hotel, 2 shirts, and 2 posters is about $500 too much. I don't think the shuttle is worth that much. What's the deal?

Hey Carp44 The camping area next to the river looks a little slopey. I don't wanna wake up in river after rolling town embankment with tent and friends. What gives?
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.

My wife bought two tics and camping passes for the Troy stop and it took her over a half an hour to get through. When she did, she said two of the three camping locations had filled up.

Got 4 for St Augustine and a friend got 2 for me and 2 for him, so thats 6. I need at least one more, but it won't let me buy more than 4. Bummer.
I gotta figure this out.
I was going to buy a dozen.
I had planned on buying a chunk of them too, as most of my friends are at work today. Luckily, today is a snow day for a lot of folks!!
I don't know how to double quote posts ???
In regard to the lack of confirmation email. I got mine immediately. I would suggest calling them just to verify. As long as you have your order number I'm sure it'll be fine.
