I've been recruited to work this show's Troy stop now and have picked up a few bits of info along the way... here is what I've got so far...The camping is by the river, with over flow starting at the football practice fields, then cemetery, then park. Everyone will be shuttled to their campsite on buses and there will be golf carts ( not sure if free or not ) to help shuttle you to campsites...
I've also heard that George Clinton will be playing downtown Troy on Thursday evening, and The Flaming Lips will be having an as yet unannounced midnight Friday show at Hobart arena. The FLips show will be a separate ticket, available to purchase only by those with festival tickets.
Hey man! Ever figure out how to post those pictures of the campsites? And any idea what sort of distance we are talking to schlep all the camping gear? I am thinking cooler, tent, big backpack for clothes/blankets, then maybe one more bag with some munchies... and that's just for two people. All that can go in the buses? Seems like a drop off station may be a better idea... really sounds like a huge hassle. Also, how are they going to police all that shit for prohibited items? A lot of questions about the logistics here and there is scant info on the GotR website. Thanks for anything more!
Carp44 - So is it true that we can't camp with our cars? I saw your post about the golf carts, etc. but I'm still in denial about it. Is this at all stops (I have tickets to Guthrie) or just the one you are working?

I wish I could go to the Guthrie, Oklahoma stop. Willy Mason, Phosphorescent, Justin Townes Earle, Alabama Shakes, HAIM, and Those Darlins would be worth $100 for me.

Well, I just bought 2 tix and camping passes for this shindig in Troy. I'll be taking my almost 10 year old daughter. She desperately wanted to go to Bonnaroo, but I said "no way". I did some digging around on the net and found the following information from the city.....it will help those hitting the Troy stop. Venue Info & Map from City of Troy

I am just talking about the Toy stop. I have no idea what the camping situation is on the other stops. Hopefully you can camp with your car though, the Troy set up sounds like a huge hassle to me!
here is a bad shot of the whole area.. you can see the stadium to the right, Hobart is behind that school bus on the left. You can barely make out the water park behind Hobart ( blue slide ) I took this pic from the top of the levee
that obviously didnt work... ill try again after work, or PM me your number and I'll text you pics
Do you have any idea how the shuttle system will work for camping? I'm trying to figure out how much gear to bring
I have a meeting Thursday where I should know more details. From what I've heard so far you are going to park at the High School and be shuttled by school is to your camping area. Supposedly there will be people with golf carts to help haul gear ( no clue what if any charge ) I do know for most camping locations it's going to be very non practical to make the trek back to your car on foot.
I'm going. About twelve of us rented a house, should be a great weekend.
Excellent!! When are you getting in? Ill have all the inside info for the super secret shows and ill be able to get tickets and everything. Plus I can guide you as to the best fun spots here. If you do a GroupMe let me know.
So we got our Guthrie tickets yesterday. It looks like the camping and wristband pass are one in the same.. Has this been the case at the other stop overs?

Found out there won't be any more tickets released according to my sources. Pretty sure that'll stay true.
No word on the secret shows yet, but when it gets closer I will have the info.
Also, I can house up to 7 people for the weekend if anyone decides to make a late ticket purchase. You've got a bed to crash in. Hotels are insanely expensive right now
