Just returned from the Simcoe stopover! It was an incredible two days. The layout was kinda weird, portos only on one side of the venue. But a really positive experience over all!
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Anyone who went to Simcoe able to discuss how the no alcohol in camp went? Or PM me. Just curious. Got Guthrie coming up wouldn't mind to sip on a little treat in camp.

carp44 do you know if there are going to be any other late night shows other than the ones on the ticket page? I thought I saw on the GOTR website that there were plans for a show at Hobart

My daughter sitting in the shade on the levee and listening to M&S soundcheck. We're having a great time in Troy, though she was a bit embarrassed by me dancing to Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes last night. But, you'll have that with a 9 year old

Thursday and Friday night at no name is the whispering. No name is a very awkward place so it'll be interesting to see how they set it up.
Once you get here and see the field they are playing in, you'll see why they have to start early. Residents here are expecting a major mess. It's not a big enough field, not for 25,000 people.
Ill push my sources a little harder this coming week and dig for more info. I'd bet there will be something at tradewinds, and at the standard and possibly at the icehouse (supposedly official after party?)
Anyone interested in the posters and the pop up merchant booth ill post when I have their location nailed. And I will

I was up there a couple of weeks ago and saw the field, pretty small. It's a mess near old town on a typical Saturday, it'll be pretty interesting to see how they manage it.

I saw them open for YMSB in St. Pete a while back, they were great. Grandpa's Cough Medicine plays all over Florida though, they'll be at Magnoliafest as well.
So I have looked over this list over several times and have found a couple things.
1) there are 3 places that have music that aren't listed here. - No Name Bar (already know there will be artists from the fest) - The Standard (fishbone, hundred waters, David mayfield, le castlevenia and others have played there in the last year or so - great place for a show) - Cafe Eleven (doubt there will be anything there) - Mojo BBQ ( I'd bet money there will be something there)
2) there is a saying in St Augustine: "all roads lead to trade winds". It's true. The place is awesomely dirty - an old biker bar. It's going to be jacked.
3) I found out there will be a secondary stage, probably in the square on cathedral place, with more music.
Hey all! We're headed to St Augustine! I'm a festival noob .... Got any advice? (Survival tips, good sense tips, what to bring /leave at home, great places to eat in St Aug--whatever!)
So fun. cancelled. They hinted at CCR or John Fogerty as the fill in. Kind of weird because he just played here a few weeks ago, but I guess last minute fill ins are tough.
