i saw them about a week ago at a very small venue, in between coachella weekends. very very mellow show. but extremely on point and they sound fantastic live. these guys are a lot of fun and care a lot about the shows they put on. should be a good thursday set!

This show is going to out of control Alabama Shakes-Sleigh Bells crowded. Especially with Japandroids right before. I want to see them, but I'm seeing FJM instead of Japandroids, and without screens on the tents, I wouldn't actually be able to see them. So I may just skip and the Polyphonic in the cinema tent.
I just realized that this post is kind of useless, ha!

If you walk to the left side of This Tent you can get a view from the side of the stage. Sound will not be as good though. I don't mind hanging out beside the road in front of This if the band is sounding good and just enjoying the audio.

I looked at the schedule incorrectly. Was thinking they were on That. I can likely just listen to the show while waiting in line for Rocky Horror. Best of both worlds!

rooter Ive been gearing up for this show for awile now. Through all the live stuff and interviews ive watched they are actually kinda shy as people and it reflects in their live performance. I wouldnt say im gonna be at their set because of the bands energy on this one, but more the energy of the crowd. I see it being a highlight of the weekend.
i dig the crap out of their album and have been pumped for their show... but all these videos have made me rethink my tenacity of getting to this show. I hope that he was very sick for that coachella show or something because those vocals were more off-key than not. the rest of the band nailed their shit like the album...

Having seen them once recently:
Pros: It sounded exactly like the album (even the singer) The drummer really gets into it and brings some excitement They left some room for some jamming, so maybe we get some
Cons: Not the most energetic show (it's really not supposed to be though) The further back in the crowd you go, the weaker the atmosphere is going to be and it could seem boring (this is a trend with most bands that aren't known for their energy IMO)

saw them on saturday at Governor's Ball. They were one of my favorite sets from the weekend. Their crowd was massive, though. I cant imagine how everyone is gonna squeeze into a tent for their show.
I really enjoyed this set. Really thinking about seeing them in nola in september now despite it being on a wednesday. I didn't get a good spot though because of FJM, and by the time I got there it was PACKED.

Fantastic show. Easily my favorite outside of the headliners and soul superjam. I never have seen a crowd get so into it without the band trying to pump them up. The Matt&Kim crowd was crazy, but they was making the effort to get the crowd going. Alt-J had everybody going straight off the music. "Matilda" was played beautiful. Would love to see some good vids. I was able to snag one good pic.
So I saw them last night and they have grown quite a bit since the two times I saw them last year. The songs don't all sound exactly like they do on the album anymore, they seem to have gotten more energy as they've gotten more comfortable. They played a few songs not on the album - the one from Silver Linings Playbook, a new song I think, and a cover. They have lights now - pretty cool synch with the music, and while they still don't talk much (which doesn't bother me), they really got the crowd involved even having the crowd sing parts of some songs. This may have been the case at Bonnaroo (I didn't see them there), just saying if you haven't seen them since last year, they are a lot better live than they were, imo.

Pops I remember you spreading the word about them last year before anyone was talking about them. Wish I caught their early day performance at ACL last year.
Have they really grown that much? Don't get me wrong I'd love for them to be at the What, but going from Thursday night to the What stage is a big jump in two years. I think Kendrick Lamar did it - in back to back years, no less - but his debut album was hailed as an instant classic by many and is largely considered one of the best rappers out right now. I don't think alt-J is there yet, though I suppose they could do something during the day as a pre-pre-HL. Right now I see them closing out the Which, or maybe a Which LN, though even a LN tent wouldn't surprise me.
Regardless, I'm greatly anticipating their new album. If it's anything like An Awesome Wave, it'll be the only thing I listen to for months.

Local Natives played the What Stage on Friday in 2013, so I don't think it is that unrealistic that they could make that jump
I'm going to need dates for any and all shows regardless of location and day.
Thanks in advance.
