Here's what I did
Thursday: Kraftwerk > Shigeto > Dan Deacon > end of Jimmy Edgar > Art Department
Friday: Mix Master Mike > Giorgio Moroder > Daedelus > Tokimonsta > Moderat
Friday: Two Fresh > Elliot Lipp > Chic > Les Sins > Museum of Love > RJD2
Chic and Moderat were my hands down favorites. Kraftwerk was awesome but we bailed after their technical difficulties. Tokimonsta blew me away because I had no idea that's what her live sets were like. Museum of Love was great and I can't wait to see them after they've been playing together longer. Daedelus is a trip to watch on stage.
One of my friends ran into one half of Two Fresh in the bar below the Orange Peel. She was hammered and asked to take a picture with him. She has an iphone and just held down the shutter so there's like 20 pictures of them and you can see them both go from smiling to confused. So he gets points for being, I assume, a pretty cool guy.
I am currently listening to Escort and am mad that I didn't listen to them before the fest. I can't even remotely complain after such an awesome weekend though.

They played the full 10+ minute version of Milk as like their 2nd/3rd song and it was honestly one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed. Apparat's voice actually sounded better live than it does on record. He stole the show.
Great pics! I would have loved to get the kind of view you got, especially since my seat was against the wall and the speakers were blocking my view of the stage. One of my favorite parts of their visual display was how most of the images on the screens behind them were projected out and into the theater. It really improved my experience at the show since I couldn't see shit.
Is there a way I can directly load pics, or do they have to be linked somewhere?
I believe they have to be linked somewhere. Imgur is super easy and after it uploads it gives you the link in board format so you can just copy and paste that into the reply box.

Finally time for my recap!
Wednesday
Pet Shop Boys > Flying Lotus > Soul Clap
- I was impressed with PSB stage production. Huge LED screen, intricate laser show that came out every now and then, and some additional stage performers. - FlyLo was nuts as always. I really think the floor was bouncing up and down from the bass. Sensory onslaught.
Thursday
Kraftwerk > Shigeto > Bernie Worrell Orchestra
- The Ktwerk tech difficulties were a bummer. I was really loving that set - I was trashed at Jimmy Johns thinking about him being a perv while I was eating. Dat inforoo life..
Friday
New Musical Frontiers (MIT media lab) > No Regular Play > Clark > Moderat > Dillon Francis
- Holy shit was Moderat amazing. Bad Kingdom live was unreal; does anyone have a setlist (Phyre Fest @summerteeth214 pfunk3210goldbees)??? I was upstairs for this show and there was hardly any line to get in. I feel bad for those downstairs in the huge line. - Going from Moderat to Dillon Francis was pretty much an lol moment
Saturday
Nile Rodgers masterclass > surprise Washed Out set > Chic > Les Sins
- Nile Rodgers is the Forrest Gump of music - The Washed Out show had a capacity of 100, my group of 4 were 96-99, woohoo! He dropped Classixx - All Your Waiting For, into Disclosure - White Noise. That's an ideal 1 2 for me - I'm really really sad about not seeing anything after Les Sins. Mark Farina was one of my top 3 not to mention the ridiculous programming at every other venue that night
Sunday
The Math of Futurama & The Simpsons > Fools Gold Showcase
Food
Soooo much good food! Tupelo Honey cafe, Limones, White Duck Taco, Chai Pani.. delicious
Beer
Burial Brewery, Greenman Brewery, and High Wire brewery were the shit! beers were great and relatively cheap compared to craft in Philly. Plus they had plenty of games to play. I'm pretty sure I was drunk the majority of the trip
I don't have a Moderat set. Phi would probably be the man to ask about that. BUT your post made me remember one of my favorite moments of the weekend.
When we were waiting in line for RJD2 I looked at my friend and said, "I'm starving. We've got to get some food after this." Right as I finished saying "this" the guy directly behind me yelled, "WHO WANTS A SANDWICH??" I turn around and it's a dude in full on Jimmy Johns bike delivery garb handing out a box full of tiny sandwiches. I think I ate it in three bites.
Thanks universe.
Billadelphia where was the Washed Out show. I didn't hear about that. I'd really like to hear his version of All Your Waiting For.

haha wow the universe really hooked you up with those sandwiches. The Washed Out show was at the Masonic Temple. They announced it through instagram. I was getting their tweets sent as texts which tipped me off to it.
Fest tip - I highly encourage getting tweets sent as texts for all festivals you attend. Bonnaroo always tweets out surprise shows and such.

I think they've been playing the same setlist, so it was probably this
Glad I'm not the only person who felt that way about Dillon Francis. After having my mind blown by Clark and Moderat, it just didn't work. He also peaks and valleys too quick, imo

So glad I decided NOT to go to Dillon Francis after Moderat. I didn't want to let it ruin the night. And Jimmy Johns + my bed sounded like a much better option than walking all the way back up to USCC

Couldn't agree more about Dillon Francis. It felt like there was a drop every 10 seconds, which seemed so artificial after hearing Moderat's songs that grow so organically. He did play Nelly - Dilemma though which was fantastic

man, that festival was a blast - i so dearly hope moog keeps it going, especially now that it seems MOEMS in the fall will be no longer
got shut out of fly lo on wednesday night (was slow getting there, my own fault!) so i ended up spending nearly the entire evening in the basement watching the crew love guys, but made everything else i wanted to see including moderat. the latter was indeed as amazing as everyone here says it was, although clark right before that was pretty killer as well! here's how my evenings went?
WEDNESDAY Pet Shop Boys > Nick Monaco > Slow Hands > No Regular Play > Soul Clap
THURSDAY Com Truise > Kraftwerk > Tiga > Sasha > Jimmy Edgar > Art Department
FRIDAY Kraftwerk > Daedelus > Clark > Moderat > Dillon Francis for laughs
SATURDAY Le1f > Les Sins > Kaytranada > Blondes > Machinedrum > Factory Floor
for all of you jonesing about moderat - you should check out christian loffler, he hasn't gotten nearly the attention he should. not quite as big-room and bass-whompy as moderat can get at times, but if you like their more organic/melodic tracks you might like loffler? he had an album a couple years back called "a forest" that was amazing, and another one called "young alaska" that just dropped that's equally good. this live set combines elements of both. starts slow, but he ramps it up by the end. he's in the same vein as pantha du prince, lawrence, efdemin, etc. but doesn't get nearly the amount of love they do. all in due time, though...
RA review of his last album, one of the few places I saw that gave it proper attention:
Post by LoRezSkyline on May 11, 2014 12:31:58 GMT -5
...and i just realized - he did a set back in 2012 for BR around the release of "a forest" that the google just unearthed! i missed that somehow back then!!! should be good as well, opening track playing right now is lush...
his own quote in his RA bio sums it up nicely:
"Being asked to describe his own music, Christian Loeffler states that he tries to combine melancholy with euphoria. “All my music is connected by a gloomy spirit, which is minted by a warm sincerity. I try to merge all kinds of different acoustic colors to obtain this feeling in my music.”
How was Leif, LoRezSkyline? I really wanted to go to that but I figured there was no way we could make it from Chic to Le1f and be back in time for M.I.A.
So we went to Les Sins and then got shut out of M.I.A. anyway.
So fucking jealous of those of you who saw Moderat.
This is a fantastic festival and I will definitely be back next year.
Best festival I've ever been to. Will be back next year, without a doubt. Panels/lectures were all excellent. Shows were incredible. Audio/visual element was stunning. Got a great spot at every show I went to. Staff was incredibly nice. Crowd was nice and it was nice to be around other people who are into the same ideas you are.

I wore two Moogfest 2010 shirts this weekend at Shaky Knees. I got stopped multiple times both days by people asking me if I went this year and telling me how awesome it was. Guess they really made an impression on some people.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
