Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'm going to go ahead and create an online petition. It can't hurt. They all seem equally silly but anyone got any suggestions as to what's the best place to do it? I keep coming across change.org, seems legit.
Yea, it seems a bit dramatic, but I've seen ridiculous petitions on there and they often get press coverage. Like R Kelly for the National Anthem?
That's hilarious! Let AC know we will take this TO THE HIGHEST COURT IN THE LAND! I'll start the wheels turning when i get home in a couple hours unless someone posts an argument against using petitions.whitehouse.gov.
I posted the text of my letter on the Facebook Inforoo thread. A few moments ago someone named Amanda Person commented that she is the social media coordinator for AC, that they have heard our concerns and are working for a solution. She is asking for time for that to take place.
At least someone has acknowledged hearing our complaints on this matter. Now the ball is in their court.
Amanda Person is the social media coordinator for AC. She came to Brunch at Moogfest along with some other people from AC. If she says they are working on it, I am sure they are.
Now watch... Their solution will be something like "TO is now located in... POD 1!"
Or... TO is now relocated to camp zoolander right next to the West toolboth. "enter through the far most right lane", This would dump you right into Zoolander. The post did say, "It’s a short enough distance".

As I have previously stated. They will scan your rfid when you walk in. This will desigante if you are GA parking or TO. Just have someone drop you off at the gate with enough tarps to claim your space. I assume most of you will practice your tent setup at home. This means you know what space you need. Just pack a good hiking backpack with a tent, and what, two maybe three tarps? My hiking pack can tote 4 tarps.
Then, after the quarantine of Wednesday night, get your gear on Thursday morning. Trouble is holding your tarp ground in tent only. Hell, I'll even have a couple of ezups I can carry by hand. Of course time six and a half foot tall and about 210 lbs, so I can carry more then the average bear.
I think if inforoo really wants the brunch and the normal setup, then we should designate 10 to 20 volunteers to set up camp. Hold the ground, walk in, and everyone else can come on Thursday. They can't possibly police it for longer then Thursday morning. Simply to many bodies and not enough security.
I say you name these brave volunteers the camp inforoo rangers. Set up a time and place for the rangers to assemble on Wednesday afternoon, and be in line before 8 to walk in. You'll need to find ample space, and hold your ground for 12 hers approximately. Perhaps some of the folks who snuck out of quarantine last year can do the same. We can call that group the resistance.

This is the only part I wouldn't support. Yeah, some made it out, but I heard others were told if they tried and were caught they'd have their wristbands cut off and be kicked out of the festival.
I appreciate your feedback and the thought you put into your email about Tent Only Camping. It's thanks to fans like you that we are able to come back to the farm each year and do what we love. We are taking your feedback along with the other concerns we received and considering all points. I'm in conversations with various team members to find a solution that's best for all parties involved and will be back to everyone with an announcement soon.
Ashley Capps replied to my twitter the very first day and they are just now getting into looking into this over a week later?
Did you ever respond to him when he asked you why you were upset? From looking at the conversation it looked like you never responded back to him (though a couple of us did later).
That is a big negative on the Horray! They have been aware of our displeasure from the beginning of this whole debacle! They want time? we have to have time! Time to change airline tickets , arrange alternates to the shuttle bus, time to sneak people into TO so we can have Brunch etc. etc. This has been a debacle from day 1 of it. Ashley Capps replied to my twitter the very first day and they are just now getting into looking into this over a week later? There are only 50 days left and a lot less then 50 if you are on the road traveling etc. especially our European bretheren a big shout for Belgium! and the Canadians etc. a last minute policy change will create even more of a clusterquack then leaving it like it is now and us trying to even fathom what is going on we have no map to even know where TO is going to be so mull that over. This sounds like we are going to be stonewalled and they are sick of our "negativity" on the issue. Typical beurecratic milarky. I say we full court press especially now in the 11th hour for clarification. People spend a lot of money flying in etc. and deserve a solid answer. I say we not give them time and just keep on with what we are doing now.
You know it is serious now because Lono made perfect sober sense!!!!

I was just talking to this person that has been to Bonnaroo before and she is just livid that TO is going to fill up by Wednesday night when VIP people that have paid the big bucks have to wait until Thursday to get in. How can this happen? VIPs need to enter before those people that are walking in so that they can have a chance at TO.

You should re-read the thread and understand what's going on before you/your friend get upset. EVERYONE is allowed to enter the farm Wednesday night, they made that official change last year I believe. I forget what time exactly, but maybe around 6-8pm? It had always happened prior, but they just made it official last year.
The issue that has people upset, is that Bonnaroo is saying only people walking into the festival will have the ability to camp at Tent Only. No one knows if/how they are going to enforce this yet, it's all speculation at this point.
On another note, do people who pay for VIP actually still go to TO? It's about the same distance away, plus you get to stay with your car and have more room. I don't know, if it were me, I'd be staying in VIP!

Ummmmmmmm what? Why in the world would someone with VIP ever want to camp in TO?

I guess I'm the only one who is a fan of the new policy... As someone who has had to camp TO on several occasions and had trouble finding a spot, I don't find it ridiculous that they are making people camp where they park. Every year more and more people think "hey! I could camp a lot closer if I just leave my car and camp in TO" and they had to do something eventually.

This. You are already camping for free, I'm not sure why its such a big deal that people who have NO CHOICE other than to Tent Only Camp, be given adequate space.
I don't think most of us begrudge those who really need the TO space. I think most of our frustration stems from the timin' of the message. I think if Inforoo had known of this ahead of time Groop Campin' would likely have been a more popular venture.
Also, I suspect this new policy may lead to them decreasing the size of tent only again. If that's the case, I'd feel bad about taking up space that I don't need. That's part of the reason why I haven't camped there when I don't need to in the past anyway.
I've emailed the info@bonnaroo address and also left a Facebook post under the tent-only policy on Bonnaroo site. Stayed polite (throwing fits I assume isn't going to get us anywhere closer to a solution) but I do hope that they address this situation (although it has been almost a week since my email). If they need to make changes, that's fair, but the timing of this was a bit rough...one of my friends I've convinced to go for the first time just bought a new tent for us and our other friends to use and now we're going to have to buy multiple smaller tents to fit everybody in separate locations due to a last minute change; we also don't have a large enough group for Groop Camping (not that this was an option after the announcement was made and I'm still in an income bracket where just getting to Bonnaroo in general takes a toll on my ability to pay bills). Also stinks because part of my getting some of my friends excited about trying Bonnaroo was the fun stories about being in Tent-Only. Not fun to go to a bunch of folks and tell them, "Yeah, those plans we've been making for awhile now are scrapped."
I hope they reverse the policy this time around and then just formalize this change before they release tickets next year.
Glad to hear that perhaps some folks have gotten indication that these concerns are being heard. Looking forward to some updates!

Like a minute after I sent this I received this response from my info@bonnaroo email:
"Thanks for getting in touch. Our department heads are discussing the topic, and you can expect another announcement about tent-only camping in the very near future.
We appreciate your continued patience and support. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Best,"
Sounds like we might get some (good) news soon?

interesting observation. I thought I saw it on there earlier today, but if so, then they've taken it down since it's going to be adjusted apparently... Hmm... Hopefully they have a good solution and are very clear with the new update, whenever it gets here.

Ya it is still on there. In a smart PR move they just overloaded it with new news articles to bury it.
