Good job everyone that said something. Good for brunch.
The first person I thought about was Bunny and how happy she must be! She does such a top notch job of getting it all together and I am thankful we have another great brunch to partake in with her! I'm already thinking of what to put on the banner this year....
DEMOCRACY Way to be people I always like when the masses overturns the man...now onto more important things like corn.
No, not really. Its what they had planned all along.
I've been saying since this came out. TO opens at 8pm on Friday it'll fill up by Thursday morning around 9 ish with walkers.
They are going to quarantine EVERYONE on wednesday night. So if you drive in, you'll be in the same situation. As others have mentioned in this thread, many who escaped quarantine last year were warned they'd be kicked out.
They knew they could never enforce it past 9 am on Thursday, they didn't give any ground, IMO. Look at the announcement.

Glad this was reversed, it was the right thing to do.
THAT BEING SAID............
When this broke I quickly told my group that our only option was basically joining an open GROOP and we all joined one by Friday. Now they are all pissed at me for making them spend $35 for basically no reason. it's hard out there for a bonnaroo camp leader you guys.

The announcement says it is the same policy from last year and I can live with that. They only quarintine the first couple thousand the vast majority of people are fine, and the ones in Bonnajail can get out if they really want to. Have you ever stayed in TO? because I am not sure you understand how it works.
Last year I was quarantined but I was also one of the first ones through the gate. I ended up sneaking out but I'm going to try to enter the gates a little later and hope that doesn't happen again. Yay for an easier time being able to set up Camp Inforoo

Yup, pretty much this. I too was in the quarantine and I fully expect it to happen this year if I get parked in BFE, which is highly likely since I'm coming in on Wed. Not stressed at all Just like last year I'm sure a group of us will huddle in the corner and wait for the guards to fall asleep.
As others have mentioned in this thread, many who escaped quarantine last year were warned they'd be kicked out.
That is true that the guards were threatening to cut off wristbands and boot people out if they tried to escape but those of us that broke out of bonnajail did so unimpeded around 2am. It's not like we snuck out so to speak, the reality of the situation was that we were detained until incoming traffic died down.

I kind of wish that they hadn't rescinded the rule since I had to jump into a groop camp so my friends and I could camp together. I mean, I'm stoked to try groop camping and it's still gong to be an awesome time, but I was excited to try TO this year.

Wait, Friday what? You mean Wednesday? I don't get it, unless you are saying they will let folks with cars into TO, but only after walk ins have a chance at it (and presumably fill it since it will be tiny)?
So confused now, gotta read the official announcement before I jump to conclusions.
I was going to congratulate all who got in contact with AC/whomever and voiced displeasure on behalf of all of us. Instead I will just say "Thank you," and hope they just do it like last year, or even make TO bigger. I'm still not sure yet if I'll be going solo and trying to do TO, since my friends are being all wishy-washy now, but it would be nice to have the option at least.

Yeah man I feel for people who got put in your predicament. That's a bummer for sure. My understanding is that you're definitely not alone in your circumstance. Not that that's any consolation.
Everyone that caused a stink should definitely say thanks now, right? That way if something happens like this again, they won't be like, "They didn't even say thanks last time." You all made something happen here. Congrats.

Your avatar has to be the most hilarious thing I've seen on the Internets.
When he looks straight up and then lowers his tail.. Omg

I am still surprised everyone took it seriously. I was at Wanee, but good lord they will tow unattended cars? I mean this shit was never going to happen anyway.

Oh without pesimists, nothing would ever get done.
I'm glad y'all are happy about it, but looking at how to enforce this in the first place leads me to think that they aren't giving back that much.

They were just going to tow cars parked in Tent Only. The wording on the press release is just unfortunate. Speaking of which, do people actually ever try to park in Tent Only?

I have seen cars parked on the fringes of TO, usually on Saturday or Sunday. I always bring my car over on Monday morning as we are packing up to leave.

The cars that show up no Sunday I can kind of understand, allot of people are starting to leave. What I don't get is how are people driving cars up to TO on Saturday? Being right in the thick of the festival you'd think these folks would get turned away it's clearly marked on the map "No vehicles beyond this point".
wolfmanjess personally I never believed they would actually tow cars from GA. I did however believe they could make things very difficult for those of us arriving in cars trying to sneak into TO. But that's all like a bad dream now from which I awoke to find myself in a modest little tent on a farm in TN, far away from my car.

I have actually parked pretty close to tent only a couple of years, still I figured that was better than taking up a camping spot.
