Not "leaked" in the traditional sense, but there are a few copies out there. One of the gents on the blur forums had an advance/demo and did a live stream for some folks, took it down so that feathers didn't get ruffled though.

Ah, okay. Yeah, from what I've heard it sounds really good, but I almost want to stop sampling individual songs until the whole thing leaks.
TBH they should have in this case. If you're saying he's going to do his full solo album and an acoustic version of Melancholy Hill at the end as a 'thank you guys for coming to my set' kind of thing I don't understand why that would be much of a draw.
I'm only guessing that Roo is assuming his set will have a few crowd-pleasers thrown in, so I'm going to as well. I'm not necessarily saying Song 2 or Feel Good but who really knows what is going to happen. I'm not convinced that Sundance set is gonna be what big crowds at Roo and Gov ball are going to witness.
Jesus.
Folks, Albarn is releasing a solo album, a very, very highly anticipated album. Everything he does is gold in his fans' eyes. This isn't a Blur set, or a Gorillaz set, it's a Damon Albarn set.
The idea that he should somehow be forced to play old material to appease fans of Blur or the Gorillaz is mind-numbingly stupid. If you don't want to see his solo stuff, don't go, because that is what 95% of his set will be.
Ok lets relax with the 95% exaggeration first of all.
Weird that you use the phrase "mind-numbingly stupid" when this is purely speculation about a set we have basically no info on.
Is it not a fairly common concept? Jack White? Lionel Richie? I know every situation and artist is different but I'm having a difficult time understanding why you are ruling out 5-6 (probably slower) other songs.

Exaggeration?
If he plays 15 songs and two of them are non-solo, that's 87%, if he plays 1, it's 94%. Expecting anything more than that is in all likelihood setting yourself up for a letdown. The guy is touring for his solo effort, he's not there to play nostalgic conductor for a crowd of people.
And I don't get your comparisons. Lionel Richie? What about him? He's over 60 and is touring off his greatest hits, so...yeah, he's going to play stuff from all over his catalog. Unless he's touring a new album that no one knows about. Jack White's solo album is 40 minutes long, he has to use songs from other stuff since he's playing bigger sets than Albarn will be. Albarn isn't going to be playing those big sets, he'll need to fill in 60 minutes and his album is in all likelihood going to come in close to that.
You're looking at Everyday Robots and at best a couple of songs from his other stuff. Six? Good luck with that.
Damon did say he's going to play some blur songs which have never been heard live at his BBC6 set.
The difference with Jack White and Damon is that White is pretty much the sole author for those Stripes songs, and that band is done. Makes sense for him to play them. I dont know how Graham and the rest would feel if Damon starts reworking their songs with new musicians. Its not as if they're the tightest group, either.
I wouldnt be surprised if he breaks out Strange News, he did that at the Peel tribute in 2012 pretty stripped down. Maybe something like Caravan or Best Days, Mellow Song, or even Country Sad Ballad Man. You'll get a few blur cuts, to be sure, but I sincerely doubt it'll be the hits that the majority of casual American audiences will be familiar with.
I can't wait to see what tricks he has under his sleeves... Even though I've always been more of a Gorillaz guy but like mentioned before, most Damon stuff gets a B+ to A+ on my book!! Seeing Bobby Womack and Little Dragon being there, I'm excited for some Plastic Beach songs!!

If he's going to play any Gorillaz tunes, I actually think Cloud of Unknowing is a good bet, theres a damon solo version around. Though I think Damon at Bobby's set is more likely.

Ok if you put the over/under on three with three being the push what would you take?
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

I know you're not talking to me but I'd say probably no more than four or five. He's going to play the majority of his album, I doubt he can fit in more than 14-15 songs in his set. And it might as well be zero for the reasons you're citing, because the types of blur or Gorillaz cuts he'd play wont be the crowdpleasing types instantly recognizable by most. To think that he'll break loose with popular stuff to justify his lineup placement is mental.

When I say crowd pleasing I don't mean Feel Good and I think I mentioned that already. I think any Blur/Gorillaz songs would be crowd pleasing.
And you make it seem like I'm saying that he saw his placement on the lineup and then was like "oh shit I'm 14th I gotta drop song 2 on em."
I still don't think 5-6 songs is a "mental" idea. You even said "probably no more than four or five" so I'm not really seeing the disparity in our opinions. Did I cross the line when my range went to 6?

Do you think the majority of the Bonnaroo crowd would have any idea if "Strange News" was a blur song if he played it? I honestly don't. The argument you were making was that itd be hard to justify his lineup slot if hes just playing solo tunes. Im saying that for the people who are tuning in casually, any blur songs he plays arent going to be the type that draw folks in with an "oh, ive heard this before," so they might as well be solo tunes. You're mental if you think Damon dusting off "Black Book" is going to be crowd pleasing for anyone but the diehards in attendance. Think on Yorke when he was doing Atoms. He played a couple Radiohead songs, but nothing that casual fans would go wild for. It'll be the same with Damon.

First, I'm not really making an argument. I'm reacting with slight surprise that he is billed so high in a stacked top 20 if he indeed is only playing an album nobody has heard yet.
I don't think I've taken a hardcore stance opposing you here. I think your main problem is that I see him that high on the lineup and am wondering (not proclaiming with authority) if he will do say 5 recognizable songs to his hardcore fans. I immediately said I don't expect the huge songs so you can stop with the "dust off" phrase you are loving so much. I think with as much evidence as we have at this moment there is no reason to shut down the possibility of El Manana, Melancholy Hill, To the end, and maybe two other songs.

Apologies, I must have misinterpreted you. I dont really see El Manana, On Melancholy Hill, or To The End as representative of what you were proposing. It didn't seem like you were wondering if he'd play songs that hardcore fans might appreciate, but wondering if he'd play songs that were "recognizable." Most people aren't recognizing To The End, to be quite frank.
Yeah, I realize its a pipe dream. Has he collaborated with any other artists on the line-up. Dangermouse from Broken Bells would be cool.
He's worked with Little Dragon,Bobby Womack, and he also has done a lot of work with Deltron 3030 who is highly rumored to be playing as well so hopefully we see them on the lineup also.
Again, this is all pretty pointless as he'll be playing a festival set in a week.
"It would be nice to play "Clint Eastwood" and "Feel Good Inc." with Blur, but I can't. They won't play them with me! [Laughs] But I've just finished a solo record – when I go tour that, I'll play play stuff from all my different bands."
I'm sure you're way more on top of this than me, but did this interview from last year even give you a little hope that a wild setlist happens?

The answer to this, and all questions, is that Damon says lots of things. I think using those two song titles was merely a way of expressing his frustration at not being able to draw from his own extensive catalogue when he's with blur or Gorillaz. Those are recognisable songs, so they're easy examples for the interview. I think if you look at the style of the new record, and the non-solo tunes he's played, you can get a sense of what might happen. There will certainly be a few non-solo songs mixed in, as he doesn't have enough material to really play a full set of his own, but it will likely be songs similar to To The End or Melancholy Hill. For example he just gave an interview where he said hes going to play blur's All My Life in his sets, which is a b-side from the Beetlebum single. So if what turns you on about blur or the Gorillaz are the moodier deep cuts, then you might be in luck with a couple of what he plays.
My best advice would be just to get excited about the ER material because its fantastic. Also I think BBC6 will be broadcasting his show tomorrow, might want to check that out.

I didn't realize a decent version of ER is out. I'll have to do some investigating.
It's not. See my post at the top of this page. AFAIK, there's no version of ER "out there" except the songs that have been released and been played live.
